PCB national selection committee remains intact

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the national selection committee remains intact. This confirmation dismisses all reports by credible channels, citing removal of Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali from the selection committee.

The PCB spokesman said in an official statement that the Board has only replaced the data analyst, who will have no voting right during team selection.

The PCB spokesperson said that Hassan Cheema has been replaced by Usman Hashmi as the data analyst to assist the selection committee.

The current members of the selection committee are as follows:
- Aqib Javed (Member)
- Aleem Dar (Member)
- Asad Shafiq (Member)
- Azhar Ali (Member)

The spokesman said the selection committee is bound to discuss with Head Coach and Captain of respected formats before finalizing the team.

This is why Pakistan crashed out early and our bowling attack was toothless in the middle overs, zero spin wicket taking threat. Nauman and Sajid were in good form in test cricket and the CT wickets would have suited there bowling.

It's never a good idea to keep chopping and changing everything all the time. It's the correct choice to give the current selection committee a while longer to prove themselves. Stability is hard to find where the PCB is involved, so where it happens we should applaud it.

In the real world when you fail at your job, don't achieve results and fail to show competence, you get fired, terminated in the private sector. What the PCB selection committee did during the Champions Trophy and the Triangular Series before it was unforgivable. The fact that they dropped Babar, Rizwan from the T20 series is not something they should really get credit for because these players were under performing in the T-20 format for ages and it was the demand of the nation that these two get benched.

Only in Pakistan can you get away with using emotional arguments to reward mediocrity and incompetence evidenced by the fact we keep electing the same failed tried and tested politicians back into office inspite of fully knowing their track record very well.

Oh well, i have made peace with the fact that rewarding mediocrity and incompetence is in the Pakistani DNA therefore Pakistani Cricket is no different hence it makes no real difference to me as much anymore.

The squad announcement was made at a ceremony that had Aqib, Hesson, and Agha by the looks of it, because there are some hilarious nuggets by Hesson calling Usman Khan's performance 'exceptional' and calling Babar's performance 'consistent'. That is what we, as a nation get as a verbal slap across the faces.

Aqib, Aleem Dar, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, data analyst guy - salute to you, sirs! With the PCB getting besharam day by day, the committee has also received full license to hide in plain daylight. Hesson will be scapegoat - he will be sacked. Agha too. But the rotten core will continue to play 100+ matches in the years to come.

And they wouldn't even have to come out and defend why damaad's and king's have been selected. The PCB payroll is giving these guys an offer of a lifetime anyway.
