Pakistan Cricket Board issues show-cause notice to Naseem Shah

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show-cause notice to Naseem Shah, the fast bowler of the Rawalpindz PSL team and a national cricketer, for violating the terms of the Central Contract as well as the Media Policy and Regulations.

The show-cause notice has been served in accordance with the PCB’s disciplinary framework. Naseem Shah is required to provide a response within the stipulated time. Upon receipt and review of his response, the PCB will decide on any further action in line with the regulations.

The PCB remains committed to upholding professional standards, contractual obligations, and the integrity of the game.

Ironically, PCB getting triggered and prob their chairman sweating bullets at this tweet shows that she really does get treated like a queen.

Otherwise in a free country why would you not be able to criticize a corrupt leader or at least one surrounded by controversy?

It's not a good idea as an active sportsman in Pakistan to make a political comment when the PCB chairman is also a minister in the govt
 
Aqib Javed calls Imran Khan a failure as a politician in an interview and he immediately gets rewarded with a gig in the PCB. Wasim and Ramiz distance themselves from IK and they are rewarded with commentary roles with the PCB, PSL.

Shaheen got photographed having meetings with PTI Leaders in 2024, he got punished by being brutally removed as T-20 captain without explanation. Aamir Jamal wore a cap with 804 written on it, he has not been seen in the Pakistani team again. I fear the PCB will make a brutal example of Naseem as well unless he holds a Form 47 press conference apologizing.
 
Strict disciplinary action should be taken against Naseem Shah. I mean how can u disrespect and question the conduct of CM of a state when u r on a payroll of an organisation controlled by govt. In India no active player or even retired one can think of doing this

He is stating that his social media accounts are operated and managed by his agent in the UK. Even Fakhar Zaman had to suffer because his agent made a post criticizing the PCB for how they were treating Babar Azam and Fakhar had to suffer punishment from the PCB
 
He cant be making such statements as a cricketer.

Doest matter who handles his acc, since the acc is his.

The only thing that would matter if it was indeed hacked or not.

This is just like Rainas nephew all over again
 
His opinion but if it was Talha then proves what a clown that guy is because you can’t do that on a handle of someone you represent without their permission. Rizwan needs to separate himself from that guy.
 
What i believe happened was, this tweet didnt come from Naseem. I doubt he could type in English like that.

One of the dumb account managers at the firm that does PR for naseem accidentally stayed logged into Naseems acc and not his personal acc. This tweet was meant to be posted from that acc managers personal acc, but he probably forgot to switch over.

Its cringe when people outsources their social media accounts to marketing and pr agencies. This is what happens than.....

doesnt matter, since majority here are pti fans, they see nothing wrong with what Naseem posted, and how has signed that contract

true on the first part, but the second part, PCB is bound to issue a showcause in this case. He hasnt been fined yet, he is being asked to come and explain what the hell was that, which PCB is legally required to do because Naseem posted some dumb stuff theor

Seems like PCB didn't bother to investigate or have a conversation and instead just chose to accuse Naseem of violating the terms of his central contract. Hardly surprising considering the PCB Chairman is the henchman/errand boy of the regime.

That’s what a show cause notice is. A chance to investigate and for Naseem to explain his side. They haven’t punished him yet.

Some of you guys need to start understanding how processes work.

Showcause notice is basically a conversation and investigation, when a violation has been by a player according to what they signed in their contract.

After Naseem submits a response it would be after that the PCB decides whether to punish him or not.

Chairman did nothing wrong.

Unfortunately, as it is part of his contract he can't make such statements ... especially, in a police state like Pakistan?

No I was serious and apologies for my ignorance - I am not familiar with Pakistani politicians especially by face, I have heard a bunch of names and know some relationships among them but not everyone. Basically I can recognize Shahbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif, Asim Munir, that (ISPR?) army news guy, Bilawal Bhutto, Mohsin Naqvi, and now Maryam Nawaz - thanks to you and @RidiculousMan

No but its crime to violate the terms of the Central Contract but If naseem shah didn't agree wirh the terms of the contract then he should have not signed the contract.

No body forced him always could have a career in politics

Here you are ok with naseem insulting a cm, even though he has signed a contract which specifies against such things.

Its sheer hypocrisy. The forum will ban any such thing. Their private firms where these guys work will kick them out of the job if they do such things. Any other cricket board will ban such players for breach of contract. But if Pakistani players who love Imran Khan are not given free pass for everything, his supporters will cry about democracy.

There are employees out there who use social media actively but put up a disclaimer that their views are not shared by the place they work.

Now am not saying these lot should run wild, but the current regime will take it too far when it comes to policing this.

Should you really lose your job over something like this?

If they attack the boss or owner of the company, or their family members, yes, they will lose their jobs even if its their private social media? Whether Naseem likes it or not, he is employed by PCB who in turn are employed by the current government

I don’t feel like what he said was an attack or whatever, and PCB should be independent from gov interference - yes wishful thinking, but people are going on like Naseem killed her dog or something. Maybe she is applying pressure because she fancied him or something - hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
