Perpetual series names - Why nothing yet for Pakistan?

So at the moment we have

The Ashes (England–Australia)
Frank Worrell Trophy (Australia–West Indies)
Trans-Tasman Trophy (Australia–New Zealand Test series)
Chappell–Hadlee Trophy (Australia–New Zealand ODI series)
Border-Gavaskar Trophy (Australia–India)
Wisden Trophy (England–West Indies)
Warne–Muralidaran Trophy (Australia–Sri Lanka)
Basil D'Oliveira Trophy (England–South Africa)
Pataudi Trophy (England–India Test Matches played in England)
Sir Vivian Richards Trophy (South Africa–West Indies)
Sobers–Tissera Trophy (West Indies–Sri Lanka)
Anthony de Mello Trophy (England–India Test Matches played in India)
Freedom Trophy (India–South Africa)
Ganguly-Durjoy Trophy (India–Bangladesh Test series)

I would nominate Wasim-Akram-Mike Atherton Trophy as a worthy name for Pakistan-England series. I did think Botham-Imran series but there was real hatred between those two so unsure that would cut it.

Any suggestions?
 
Pakistan v Zimbabwe series should be named the Hafeez-Chigumbura Trophy..
 
was never a fan of giving test series official names, the ashes, which have a cool story behind them notwithstanding, the rest just seem like a weak marketing gimmick.

India/Pakistan never play each other so I'd be against creating a series name. I'd definately want a name on the Pakistan-England one though. Maybe Saj can bring it to the attention as it seems sad that Pakistan are the only team on the list not to have a series named.
 
No point naming series for a team that cancels tests to only play 2 of them at a time.

Most of those names are meaningless, how many actual fans would know most of those?

And The Ashes is the only one with any historical significance.
 
First you guys need to stop biscuit companies from sponsoring the trophy for a change J/K

Freedom trophy also has a solid background.
 
Actually none other than Ashes really matters

Frank Worrel trophy used to be big till the 90s. Right now Border Gavaskar Trophy is terrific contest but nobody really cares abt the Border-Gavaskar trophy name to be honest

Our PR team will come up with “Brighto Paint Clash of Titans” or some other cringe.

Pakistan v Saf is fine

Whenever Pakistan and India resume test ties, this needs to be the series headliner. Don't wanna see tapal danedar boom boom bubble gum biscuit kitply chingum as series headliner.
 
Should the PCB rename the Pakistan Australia series trophy after Pakistani-Australian Legends?

The India Australia series winner gets rewarded the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The Australian NewZealand series winner gets rewarded the Chappell Hadlee Trophy

Why doesn't Pakistan go for any of the following

Imran - Chappell Trophy
Miandad - Chappell Trophy
Imran - Border Trophy

Pak Aus rivalry has never really been a big thing for over 2 decades now.

If it has to start, Benaud-Hanif would be the best name.
 
India NZ is Kapil Hadlee trophy

India SA is Gandhi Mandela Trophy for the freedom series

India BD is Ganguly Durjoy Trophy

India England is Pataudi Trophy/Anthony De Mello trophy

Apart from this

We have,

Frank Worrel trophy

Basil D Oliviera trophy

Richards Botham trophy

Warne Muralidharan trophy

Sobers Tissera trophy

Even Zimbabwe WI have Clive Lloyd trophy


Why is pakistan missing?
 
Why not Iqbal Trophy.

I think the trophy for India Pakistan should be named after someone that is respected by both countries.
 
The Trophy has to be named after two players with iconic status in both countries.

How about Akhtar Lee Trophy? That can see in both the countries

not really.

There are trophies that are named after national heroes or even politicians.

I think PCB cant enjoy the privilege of naming trophies as that would mean they lose out title sponsor money.

Our trophies and series title are often sponsored by two companies, thus making double the money.

Future series with India could be named to create some rivalry and legacy behind it

Lee isnt an icon in Aus. He is a tier 2 or tier 3 bowler.

Shoaib shouldn't really be an icon in PK either but people are impressed by his medicore record because of his speed.

It would be silly to name a trophy after them.
 
Don’t know how much that can improve the quality, but it probably would be a nice gesture to firstly the ex players and add some reputation to the trophies.

Donald-Waqar

Wasim-Marshall

Younis/Yousaf-Amla

This one would sound weird but Afridi-Shakib.

Series involving Pakistan should also have custom names.

Pakistan-Australia series can be named Imran-Border trophy.

In terms of rivalry b/w the two countries, there are the two individuals where people in both the countries immediately identify with rivalry

Miabah- Smith Trophy
Misbah- Taylor Trophy
Misbah- Root trophy
Misbah- Sikander Raza Trophy
 
Why not the Dean Jones Trophy for Pak v Aus?
The Aussies often comment on Pakistan and Deans love for the team.

He loved Pakistan cricket and it would be a nice way to respect his memory.
