Why is persian culture so beautiful? Look at their art, architecture, farsi language, foods, gardens.... you name it, even persian people are among the most classy in Asia, they dress so nicely, they have great manners and habits. We south asians through out history have looked upon them, this is why we added so many farsi words to Urdu, it was a persian who designed Taj Mahal, Mughal architecture is persian. Why is it some cultures become like this and others not? How come we South Asians never became like them?

They are one of the oldest civilization - Cyrus the great ruled like 2500+ years back, and his Achaemenid Empire is probably the first modern civilization, at least in east of gulf.

Its one thing to be self critical, its another thing to be self hating.

This new poster hates his identity and has a few threads now talking about south Asians are this and south Asians are that.

The inferiority complex is strong. Sad really.

South Asian(esp south Indian) culture doesn't need to become anything like them,we have our own Temples and beautiful architecture, cuisine, languages.

You're mixing the Persian speaking Central Asians who are not ethnically Persian with Iranians. There's a huge difference.

The "Persian" influence in the subcontinent came through the central Asian who were Persianized Turks and spoke a very different dialect of Farsi. Don't confuse the two together.

Yes true, but central asians learned their art and architecture from persians. I believe Shah Jahan called a persian architecture from Iran to design Taj Mahal

I dont hate, its just that there are so many negative things about south asians, our culture is extremely backwards compared to others. This is why so many south asians have inferiority complex. Indians actually have the most complex, Most of our people have no manners even the educated ones. There are so many negative things to list here, I dont have time.

Like the other guy said our only achievment is over populating this world with more bhooke nange insaan, this is the only thing we are good at, breeding like rabbits. There is no shining India or Pakistan or Bangladesh, it is all a big drama to fool people

Please watch just one episode of "Shahs of Sunet" on Bravo and you would asking a different question, what happened to Persian Culture?

Ofcourse that show can be mocked for its stereotypical representation of loaded and spoiled Persians living in California but unfortunately I have seen quite a few like them in US. Hopefully the Persians in Iran are still living by the great standards set forth by their incredibly rich heritage.

I have not explored Persian cinema as much as I would like to, but have seen three movies by Asghar Farhadi, the Oscar winning director of "A Separation" and regard him as one of the best directors of our current times.

Did you join this forum just to attack South Asians lol? This may be the wrong forum for you considering mostly all posters are either from Pakistan, India or Bangladesh.

If you’re in the developed world, you can start by mating with the white race to dispose off the dirty south asian gene in the future. Avoid contact with Indo/Pak/Bangla

There’s no point self hating all the time, will just make you miserable. Better to come up with solutions

OP Dari is not as "sweet" as farsi but it is more original, modern farsi has too many French words.

Persian culture is/was considered Nobel that's why central Asian mughals adopted, Turk Nader shah adopted it and Pashtun Ahmed Shah Abdali adopted it, even ranjit Singh used it as a court language.

another impressive thing about them is that they are obsessed with white people. south asians want to be white too so atleast they have this in common. i want to be a persian now. where do i apply to get rid off my inferior south asian genes.

Egyptian culture >>>>>>> Persian culture

I have been to Egypt and I am sorry to say it doesn't really have much culture. It is the Army everywhere, and people are nice but really quite lazy. Can't blame them, as the Army suppresses every initiative, it is hard to be motivated to do anything.

I disagree, South Asians need to be attacked just the same as any other group like Arabs for example. Some might consider it trolling, but we should judge all arguments by their merits. As they say, there is no smoke without fire.

India has pretty much a little over 8000 parsis who immgirated from Iran to India over countless centuries and a good majority of them have moved on married outside of their own race. Bollywood actor John Abraham is one of them. Parsi MOm and Dad's from Kerala.

Iranian diet is the healthiest, this is why they are so fit. Everything regarding them is classy, I wish we Pakistanis follow them more or at least try to restore old ties with them, they are our neighbor afterall.

So??? overall real Indian and Persian cultures are polar opposite, Indian culture is still pretty much Dravidian

By default many Muslim's like Persian culture. I think it is okay, every culture has it's ancient temples, mosques and churches. Thing about Iran in general is cleanliness compared to Pakistan. Rather amazing that they seem to be so much cleaner and better organised then us next door Pakistanis. Urdu culture is still most beautiful in my eyes, Persians like Arabs are to proud for my liking.

I hate it when people generalize. I hate it when they don't know full history. I hate it when they don't look at circumstances.

Every culture has it's beauty. and every culture has their exploits. Every country has classy people. Every country has non classy people. Every country has artists. And every country has their villains.

People don't know why many people in south asia are poor. First find out the reason for it. If Iran and it's culture is so great, why are they even immigrating to different countries?

Yes every culture has those things, however some cultures are superior to others, this is also a fact. For example name me one hindu architecture as beautiful as Taj Mahal.

Can't really compare but Tamil Nadu has many temples which are architecture marvels, especially as far as sculpture is concerned. Rameswaram, Thanjavur Brihadishwara, Mahabalipuram Shore Temples, Darasuram...thousands of temples each at least over 1000 years old, some are 2000+ years old. I don't want to get into the architectural part because it will be extensive work for me, but all historical places have their merits and culture. But Tamil Nadu has always seen maximum tourist footfalls, both domestic and foreign. And people don't come here for Ayurveda or beaches or nightlife or forts/palaces (other states are better)....they come to experience ancient Tamil history. Personally have seen many Western tourists even in my home town going on temple visits and my town (Chidambaram) isn't even that famous even though some of the temples are more than 2 millennia old. Now Delhi has always discriminated against all things South Indians and pumped in more money in Rajasthan, UP, Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra etc yet to see those places being outmatched every single year in terms of foreign tourist footfall must indicate that there is some history and quality in the land of the Cholas.

You may have nice temples, but on a world stage they are no match to persian architecture or ancient Egyptian architecture

I find ancient India and Greece to be more fascinating.

Thing is most of pre islamic ancient indian architecture including temples were destroyed by invaders esp in north and east. The ancient indians invested in making magnificient temples or buddhist viharas and donate huge wealth to them.

For invaders they were both a target for booty and for destroying local beliefs. As you see hardly any pre islamic ancient temple exists in northern india. The south was still better.

Think how magnificient Hampi was or the temples of Ajanta or Ellora. All vandalised.

They were not destroyed. Stone temples cannot be destroyed. Stop lying.

lol lol lol

All historians lie. Right? Lets start with the destruction of the Sun Temple at Multan. May be Hiuen Tsang lied about it.

Anything and everything can be destroyed including stone temples.

Why werent the buddha statues of the afghanistan not destroyed back then or the temples of Egypt? The fact of the matter is north India never had many big temples or monuments, certianally not world class, there are no records of such, except stupid claims such as Taj Mahal being a hindu temple, only idols in temples were destroyed usually

How does architecture decide which is better culture? India/Pakistan has zillion languages, zillion religions, zillion artistic people, zillion mosques, zillion temples, zillion churches, zillion rituals, zillion type of food, zillion stories, where is Persian Taj Mahal? Why was persia not able to make another Taj Mahal? Why was it made only in India? I don't think building buildings is a proof of superior culture. A country where foundation of Jainism, Hinduism and Buddhism happenned has no less culture.

Go research before you speak. Persia and central asia have amazing architecture buildings just like Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is not Indian at all. Even the marble was brought from Persia

What about the point that when does architecture decide which culture is better? More than half of world population has their culture of own? i.e. India and china

Taj Mahal is ugly and hideous. Wish it could be deported back to where its makers and artisans came from.

The fact is islamic invaders vandalised and destroyed hindu temples and looted them and thats accepted history.

Sun temple of Multan
Somenath Temple
Martand sun temple
Jain temple complex in Delhi which was destroyed and materials used to build the qutub minar.
Kashi Vishwanath temple
Nalanda university

And so on.....

These are just from the top of my head.

Just because you dont know or dont accept doesnot mean something didnot exist.

Oh please you have no solid proof that islamic invaders destroyed any of those, the existense of those structures is in question because those are listed only on hindu websites

I was referring to the original Egyptian culture (BC) compared to traditional Persian culture (BC)

The Egyptian civilization was older and built bigger temples. Culture though, is much more than just big temples. Like other ancient Indo-European cultures, the ancient Persian culture had philosophical contributions like Cyrus' human rights which the Egyptian culture never had.

There is a lot of confusion about what is "Persian Culture" and it is mistakenly thought to be Indo-European. After the Muslim invasions and conquest, the culture of the rulers became that of the conquerors, that is Arabic.

Modern Persian culture is a mix of Indo-European and Arabic culture, like modern Iranian people are a mix of these two people.

Modern Iranian and even Greek populations have a large percentage of haplogroups J1 and J2, the result of a mixed ancestry. The male line Indo-European ancestry (R1) of these countries that border the Middle East is rather low, for example down to only 27% for Greece.

https://www.eupedia.com/europe/european_y-dna_haplogroups.shtml

The highest percentage of R1a (the marker for Aryans of the ancient Indian, Greek and Persia) in the modern world is for Bengali Brahmins (72%). It is also found at a high percentage among the Punjabi Khatris (67%).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haplogroup_R1a#South_Asia

Indo-European ancestry is no guarantee of success in the modern world. Mohanas (71%) of Sindh and the Adivasi Chenchus (26%) are at the bottom of the social ladder, whereas Iyengars (31%) are at the top.

Dont get this idea of people taking pride in being part of some race. If you cant accept that we are all very similar despite having different genetic makeup, you need to visit a psychiatrist.

Lets take pride in our own actions rather than just taking pride in what our ancestors achieved or being part of some genetic group.

No solid proof. Lol. Pick up any neutral history book on this subject and its there. Fact is that islamic invaders destroyed most non islamic religioys structures.
