This is not Perth scorchers but players from their academy .

Not sure why Shaheens are playing low quality series like these.

They should've played Lions in England and the Australia 'A' side here.

Top order crumbled like a house of cards... 3 down already in 3 overs and just 11 runs..
This will keep happening, since the talent is just not there unfortunately. What irks me though is how they slow down to 4-5 RPO, which means zero rotation of strike if the big shots aren’t working.

Just keep going, whats the difference between getting bowled out for 50 or crawling to 100? You will lose either way.

Pakistan's A team is struggling against guys who have barely played domestic cricket in Australia.

Levels.

Good to see my boy Rocc keeping it tight! Hoping, he is in serious contention for a spot in our national team soon.

Akram is a proper spinner of the ball whereas Moqim doesn’t really trust his spin much and relies on flatter trajectory

Would think about Akram in the longer format

Perth Scorchers is a great team. Best team in BBL's history.

I think Shaheens gave a good fight.

Agree. Fringe teams from Pakistan, Bangladesh etc should be satisfied by just competiting with domestic teams from Australia and India..

I remember Karnataka ranji team humiliated Bangladesh A few years ago. :inti

Faisal Akram’s five‑wicket haul goes in vain as Perth Scorchers beat Pakistan Shaheens by two wickets

Perth Scorchers inflicted Pakistan Shaheens’ first defeat of the Top End T20 Series, claiming a two‑wicket win in the eighth fixture at the TIO Stadium, Darwin, on Saturday evening.

Chasing a modest 112, the Scorchers lost three wickets inside the powerplay to slip to 34 for three in 4.5 overs. Joel Curtis 31 (30, 3×4) and Nicholas Hobson 27 (26, 1×4, 1×6) then added 42 runs for the fourth wicket to take the score to 76 in 11 overs.

Left‑arm spinner Faisal Akram, reintroduced in the 12th over, broke the stand with his first delivery before striking again in the same over to leave the Scorchers at 78 for five. He returned in the 14th to claim his fourth wicket and then struck twice in the 16th over, reducing the chase to 101 for eight with 11 still required. However, Corey Rocchiccioli 8 (5, 1×6) and Brody Couch 7 (10, 1×4) held their nerve to complete the target in 18.1 overs.

Earlier, opting to bat first, Pakistan Shaheens were bundled out for 111 in 18.5 overs. Saad Masood top‑scored with 42 (32, 1×4, 3×6), while Muhammad Faiq made 21 (24, 2×4) and Maaz Sadaqat added 14 (12, 1×4, 1×6) — the only batters to reach double figures. Matthew Kelly led the Scorchers’ attack with 3‑14, while Luke Holt, Bryce Jackson and Brody Couch claimed two wickets each.

Pakistan Shaheens will now face Melbourne Renegades at the same venue on Monday, 18 August, with the first ball at 6 pm local time.

Rangpur Riders defeated actual BBL winner Hobart Hurricanes.

This is indeed a great series for our High Performance/A team to participate in irrespective of results.

Only 3-4 guys were from main Perth Scorchers squad. Rest were more like developmental players :inti
