I was interested to know the scope of pharmacy in Pakistan. Is it considered a good respectable profession. What are the job opportunities like and what kind of salary would be paid. Additionally, which universities would you recommend for it?

Lets just say Pakistan is living proof of the placebo effect.

Any one who is involved in pharmacy or has relatives who are involved got any good information?

Scope is good not excellent a lot of varisities offer Pharm D 5 yr program

Here in my city, people working in pharmacies earn a maximum of Rs. 10,000 per month. But I can't comment on what such jobs pay people in the metros, it could be higher. Starting up your own pharmacy is however profitable. But then again you need an investment of at least Rs. 15 lakhs (in my city), provided you want to set it up in a decent commercial place.

Any particular reasons bro?

The pays aren't much man, even if you do M.PHIL and PHD, the pay scale is very short.

starts from 25000 (and around 18000 in the "not good factories") and then after long long progress (maybe 10 years) you may get a lac per month but then you know private sectors can throw you out any time they want.

It is kind of a rule or you may call it a trend that they've set, if you've worked for enough long and your pay has crossed their target, then they'll call for new employees to maximize there own budget.

what does a pharmacist do?

people here call the guy on the counters of pharmacies, 'pharmacists.' Is this actually what they do?

Or do pharmacists actually make the medicie?

Yes, they've also done pharmacy and knows which medicine to use, certainly earn way more than the one's who work in the factory but only if its there own medical store.

Pharmacy isnt great in Pakistan apparently. May be due to the fake doctors and fake medicines. My cousin is struggling with a pharmacy degree.
