And here we go - one of many for the rest of the series... but lets see how Pakistan strike back.

I don't know if someone shares the same sentiments with me but I like the sledging.

You are there to play tough cricket.

Not Go Fish.

Live it with it, and let your bat do the talking.

Me too! We are there to prove our mettle as a Top Test side....

Sledging is part of the game and one of the beauties of Test cricket.....

All of us need to grow some and actually play like men for a change....

I too like hard cricket, international cricket isn't a place for the softies, if you can't prove your ability when you are under the pump then you are nothing great and don't belong. But this sledging stuff should never get to physical stage.

What I want us to do is put up a big score and not talk .. Show a different side to mental disintegration - the silence treatment

They don't need sledging to beat this team , this is already a team of softies from head to tail.

Pakistani players arnt required to say something from their mouth. If they could just score runs here that would be a good reply. The aussies will get frusturates by our runs.

Sami and Babar don't seem too bothered by Starc getting in their faces, just ignoring him.

+1

There is no better sight than seeing a batsman taking on an express pace bowler constantly sledging him. Loved watching Kohli take on MJ at the MCG. Makes for great spectacle as fans.

Mate you should be prepared for this when you tour down under. :warner

My cousin is a body language expert and well versed in the art of lip reading. He was able to extrapolate, in spite of the missing frames in the gif. According to him, Starc said something along the lines of "stop headbutting the ball, eggplant will salute other pigeons"

Yeah thats the problem...
I want the old pakistani aggression which the world feared..
They are acting as if they are playing a friendly match....

It's sad our team are a bunch of softies. Naved, Afridi, Akhtar who all had a bit of spunk about them. I hate that we sit there quietly as the opposition sledge us. The last time I saw a bit of Pakistani fire was in the World Cup when Wahab was bowling against Watson

Really poor stuff from Starc to Amir, it just looked so ugly and it was totally unnecessary following a 152kph waist high full toss.

Thing is, Amir has been at least as good as Starc in this match, even though Starc got to bowl under lights with a new ball on 3 days while Amir only did once!

I have Amir narrowly ahead of Starc so far. And I think Starc probably does too.

I can't emphasise just how impressed I've been by how Arthur and Rixon are running this squad.

It could have been selected a fair bit better, but they really use what they have well.

Amir is the only one to give some "back-chat" to the bowlers. The rest have been instilled with utter cowardice and timidness.

I remember when India fought back against Australia when Ganguly became the captain, and the Aussies didn't like it. They knew they couldn't mentally disintegrate them anymore. It went further when England went further in the great Ashes series in England too.

Fight back, don't just stand there looking down!

Was very impressed with how Amir handled the sledging actually. Anybody else would've lost it. But Amir saying something might have egged on the Aussie fans to make him the pantomime villain of this series because of what happened a few years ago.

Starc is world class but comes across as a arrogant fella. Even some Aussies were saying his behaviour was poor.

One thing is for sure, Kohli and Starc will be at each other in the next India vs Australia series seeing how Starc has been very chirpy lately and Kohli loves engaging with such characters.

Will be great fun to watch.:yk

Depends on how much assistance Starc gets on Indian pitches, if they are phattas, Starc wont be chirping anyone, not for long anyway.

Need more lippy Punjabis in the team.

Sarfraz is the most lippy in the team - how can we forget his sledging of Bishoo in Urdu :))

As for the Australian chirping - good to see they've found their vocal chords again after they went missing in UAE two years ago.

Starc would get his share of verbals from our golden boy uakmal in the LOI series. :uak

All good natured. It is ungainly to sledge in response. You have to wait and do it at the appropriate time

Were the Australians doing this when they got whitewashed by Sri Lanka.

You can act all macho and tough when your home, comfortable and cozy.

Didn't see the Aussies getting too chirpy in the UAE.

I agree with most other posters.Got to show a bit of fire.

Sarfaraz-Bishoo is more like banter. What Starc did is genuine sledging.

Except that Starc and Kohli are friends.

As I've said in the past, please watch more cricket on Tv and not through forums :)

I remember once when Bishoo left a ball and it hit his pad and rolled away towards the fine leg region, Bishoo set off for a run and Sarfaraz shouted from behind "wapis ajaaa" and Bishoo complied. That was hilarious :))

Easy to be vocal when you are leashed in your own den.

There wasn't a lot of barking going on when they were in UAE or SL.

He wasn't sledging he was frustrated by the ease with amir was playing him,he bowls almost his entire spell against him who was supposed to be the weak link without any sucess.
He was letting his frustration out, this wasn't the typical aussies's sledging tactic.

Well done Amir for giving it back to Starc. Need more of that.

Can someone tell me what happened? :uak

Man, I would love to see King Kohli take Starc to the cleaners..

I feel that the current Pakistani squad is a little too timid.

The likes of Miandad, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis weren't afraid to give back when it came to sledging.

I can't think of any of the current crop of Pakistan players who really would stand up to some of this bullying.

I'm not saying that sledging has to be responded to, but sometimes a few words in return are needed.

Amir tried to flay bird and starc really took the attack to him
Starc is really showing these young Pakistani upstarts a lesson after all their cosing up in the desert in the UAE under the leadership of misbah its time for babar and aslam to stand up

The Australians aren't winding up wahab after what happened with Shane Watson in the Australian World Cup
Amir could take a leaf out of starcs book and show some directed aggressive bowling

Pakistan players need to toughen up!

Every time i watch a game the aussie's are in Pakistan players face especially Starc and now Maxwell. Pakistan players need to stand up to them and give some back!!

What is wrong with them! I don't mean swing the bat but surely Micky knows a few replies that will touch a few nerves.

I remember the test series Wahab asking batsmen if they're ok and laughing with them... what is up with this lot

When you come from a sophisticated upbringing, if a taxi driver gets into an argument, you won't steep to their level, if you curse at them and fight with them, there is no difference between a taxi driver and yourself. Ignore, pay the taxi driver some tips (in this case hit sixes) and smile :misbah

Why not go one better in that case and tell the teacher or call the police.

Sometimes in life you have to stand up for yourself.

I don't know why the Pakistanis don't stand up to these guys. You need to be aggressive against the Aussies and get under their skin like Kohli and co. if you want to beat them

not had a chance to post.
Much better yesterday on the aggressive front.

Junaid Khan giving it to the batsmen

and Also Imad Wasim giving it some to maxwell and smith i think his other wicket!

may it continue... but knowing ICC they'll get fined if they carry on. BUT I LIKE IT!!
