[PICTURE] Bias or blunder? ICC leaves out Pakistan T20I captain from T20 World Cup ticket poster

Pakistan fans are furious after the ICC left out national captain Salman Ali Agha from the official T20 World Cup 2026 ticket poster. Captains from India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Australia and England were all featured — but not Pakistan, a former world champion and one of the biggest cricketing nations.

Supporters are calling this pure disrespect and questioning how fair representation can be ignored in a global event. With Pakistan already forced to play all matches in Sri Lanka due to political tensions, this omission feels like another example of bias and unfair treatment.

Is the ICC letting politics and influence overshadow the spirit of the game?

There are 20 teams in this tournament, but no one from New Zealand, West Indies, or any other team is making a fuss about it. Why are Pakistani fans crying so much about this?

ICC knows posters are about hype and representation, not just “hosts + randoms.” Ignoring Pakistan’s captain is like dropping Brazil from a World Cup promo — you don’t do that unless you’re blind or biased.

They have the hosts+ICC worldcup winners except Pakistan. They put South Africa for no reason. Clear show of pettiness by indian run ICC. Honestly, could not care less. They can do whatever they want as long as our boys show it on the field.

Idk why you always feel the need to defend each and everything? You need to grow up.

If ICC can include non-host captains (South Africa, Australia, England) and still skip Pakistan and even two-time champs West Indies, that’s exactly why fans call it bias and sloppy promo. It’s inconsistent, not “no big deal.”

Try again now.... bring another excuse.??

Host nation's ( Including defending champion) + Runner up of 2024 World T20 + 2022 World T20 Champion+ 2021 World T20 Champion .

All the big names included in the promotions.

They should have beaten the USA last time, a team that lost to a weaker team like the USA should not be compared to Brazil of football.

Well, take revenge for this insult by reaching the final of the World T20 and snatch the final from India and take it to Sri Lanka.

This will be perfect reply to BCCICC.

About “revenge in the final” — thanks for admitting Pakistan reaching the final against India would be the ultimate storyline. You basically confirmed Pakistan is still box office.

It's not about the box office, but a fitting rebuke to the BCCI or ICC. But the big question is: will they actually qualify for the final?

And btw a poor T20 player like Agha Salman don't deserved a photo in The promotion.

Meh don’t really care.

We ain’t doing much in this tournament anyway. Speaks volumes of our cricket when junior teams generate more excitement than the national team.
 
ICC knows that PCB can't be trusted. The current captain may not even be in the squad when the tournament starts, and he may even become the chief selector at that time..

Everybody knows who was crying when Naqvi gave you the taste of your own medicine when you refused to collect trophy from ACC President thinking one cricket team is bigger than the whole ACC. At least we did not do that despite being neglected in the ICC poster

Well I am not furious. Who would want Agha on a poster anyway
 
This is why I say that no matter how big BCCI gets, their mentality will always be small. Desis have this pettiness in them and BCCI is the perfect example of this.

Obviously the design and marketing for this is handled by Indians and that’s why it happened.

No big deal though -
Just perform well and that should take care of everything

Don’t like it? Sue them. It’s unfair? Leave the ICC. It’s unfair? Boycott the tournament.

As per an Indian source the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed dissatisfaction with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for omitting Pakistan's captain, Salman Ali Agha, from the promotional poster for the upcoming T20 World Cup ticket sales

The promotional poster featured captains from only five other nations: Suryakumar Yadav (India), Aiden Markram (South Africa), Mitchell Marsh (Australia), Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka), and Harry Brook (England).

A PCB source confirmed that they have formally raised this issue with the ICC.

This is not the first time, as a similar incident occurred a few months earlier during the Asia Cup, where the PCB had to approach the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to resolve the exclusion of their captain from a promotional campaign. Despite Pakistan not being among the top five teams in the ICC T20 rankings, the PCB emphasized that the country has a rich cricket legacy and remains one of the main attractions in the World Cup.

The PCB is optimistic that the ICC will include the Pakistan captain in future promotional materials and campaigns.

Assuming you can only have 5 captains, IND and SL are hosts and then you would have ENG, AUS and NZ captains going by rankings.

Brazil is an exaggeration but it’s definitely an Argentina/Italy/Netherlands/France stature side. Pakistan is a big part of the cricketing world,

India in their attempts to minimise this cannot succeed.

Yeah.... Pakistan is not a country like kenya which ICC can just discard... ODI and T20I world cup winners, CT winners... Cannot be removing them like this.
