Mumbai: There seems to be a rift brewing between Team India skipper Virat Kohli and his limited-overs deputy Rohit Sharma if recent activities are anything to go by.

The Mumbai batsman has apparently unfollowed Kohli on social media pages such as Twitter and Instagram, which has caused a huge stir among fans.

This came after the board proposed a 14-day slot for WAGs, requesting them to keep away for the first three Test matches of the ongoing England series.

Not only that, Rohit even liked a post on Twitter that mentioned he should have been part of the Test squad.

Last week, the BCCI announced that Rohit would lead the Men in Blue for the upcoming Asia Cup 2018 tournament with Kohli being rested.

He wasn’t performing and has a long track record of not performing in overseas test matches. What's he complaining for?

He is a crap player and everyone knows that. What he is complaining for...A flat track bully..May be trying to earn free eggs by scoring ducks in tests..

Rohit isn't even a test player. I don't understand what he is upset about. He's had too many chances and not taken advantage of them.

Rohit is not a Test player. However he is a important part of team India Limited overs team.

India can’t survive without him. Period. He’s the best opener in the world. A private meeting should be called and this should be resolved.

Odds are it’s nothing and just media masala.

Like many have stated here, Rohit is NOT a test player. It suit his style of play. He is a an aggressive opening LOI batsman. He's a strong, hard-hitting opener.

The brilliant Indian media houses at it again!

Rohit Sharma didn't "unfollow" Kohli because he never "followed" him in the first place. He only follows 46 people on Twitter and doesn't follow many of his team-mates, including Kohli.

Seriously sometimes I think Indian media houses are all run by middle-aged aunties. Just gossip after gossip after gossip...

Good try.

But Rohit not just unfollowed Kohli, he also liked anti-Kohli tweets which includes one that speaks against Anushka Sharma.

The whole indian twitter is up on arms regarding this and this is not some artifical story created by media like you are trying to protray.

There is clear infighting and leg pulling going in the Indian Team. The likes of Ganguly and Gavaskar have started taking regular shots on the coach as well.

I can see the indian team right now mentally tattered.

Come on Rohit

You were unable to make squad. Failures like Rahul and Vijay are leagues ahead of you in Test cricket. Kohli is another dimension :yk

Stick to IPL and ODIs!

You should come over to India. You might have a bright career in Bollywood. :))

Here is Rohit's twitter handle. https://twitter.com/ImRo45/likes

Please find likes on any "anti-Kohli/Anushka" tweets, if you can.

Or simply admit to being a pathological liar when it comes to anything with the Indian team. Your choice. :)

LOL

Rohit's brother in law Bunty Sajdeh is Kohli's agent and manages all his ad contracts running into 20+ million dollars per year! Rohit's wife Ritika is a major shareholder of this soorts management company called Cornerstone Sports.

Great story though.

I heard from fellow posters in other threads how Kohli is a great man manager. What happened here ??

Won't be surprise if other players aren't happy with Kohli too due to his bossy attitude. Will Sharma be the next Kumble?

I have seen his profile in past and he never followed kohli nor did kohli follow him. Media spreads too much fake news these days and many people follow it blindly.

There are several tools to check, and I used one which confirms that Rohit never followed Virat through Twitter history.

So there.

Buddy do you even know what "pathological liar" means before you start throwing the term around like a buffoon?

Here are the both tweets in question:

Now, i would like to make one thing clear, never ever accuse me of something ever again. I am above any of your rubbish. So next time you try to call someone a liar let alone a pathological liar, think twice and then think again. If you cannot handle the truth then stop quoting.

So all of the media and whole of twitter and instagram is lying?

He just not only unfollowed him on twitter but unfollowed him on instagram as well. Why would people be up in arms if he did not follow him in the first place, this makes NO sense.

Please no Rohit Sharma in the Test side again. The guy has been given enough chances and he is 30+ years old already. Get in the young guys into the team. We don't need Rohit coming back and wasting few more months with his failure to score runs in Australia.

Because they're none the wiser? Duh? The media is on the hunt for masala, and Twitterati are dumb even on their good day.

I have a tool that shows that Rohit never followed Kohli in the history of his Twitter account. Fact.

A year ago, I did the same check to confirm whether Kohli pulled down an old welcoming tweet about Kumble after the CT final and it shows that he did.

However, that doesn't excuse Rohit 'liking' anti-Virat tweets. Bit of Shehzad-itis there.

Interesting story but seems that its based on - well, nothing!

Since you continue lie I have no choice but to continue to believe that you are a pathological liar.

I've given you the link to Rohit's Twitter. If you can find those likes, please do point them out. Doctored pictures from fake news is not enough. Especially when you can see that the mods themselves are saying that this news is fake.
