What's new

He has strict principles which is he not willing to bend. He is willing to play without a sponsor even. It is the message and principle that matters.
Lol principal does not matter. He is losing per match earnings and players are losing per match earnings

Why is he playing without a sponsor though? I find it hard to believe that no brand would want to make use of that real estate on the jersey

He has mentioned that he's willing to take the loss on sponsor as he's viewing this long term and is not willing to under value his team.

Not sure if I understand.. What does not having a sponsor have to do with team value? Does he not like money? Its not like the sponsor is going to tell him which players to choose

They might be paying alot less as compared to team valuation and having someone with less pay cheque makes sure that the following sponsors in upcoming years will cite that and would like to proceed with that quotation. Thats the only logical thing i can think of

He is acting immature than.

He is barely gonna keep this team for a a few seasons. Might aswell start recovering it through sponsors.

United signs 1 year deals usually. So he could had done the same, instead of going towards a loss.

He probably wants a fair value (high value) of his team. Aka more money than a sponsor is willing to give.

Seems a bit silly. Like in teenage movie the guy who is unable to get girls claims he is waiting for the right woman.

So he's okay taking no money at all if they don't give him what he wants? That's a strange way to do business
He comes across as an idealist tbh. Has certain goals in his mind. Isn't willing to budge or lower the standard.

He has already mentioned that he has put aside 3 years of money as potential loss.

So much better to have an actual adult as captain instead of a guy who wears lipstick
What because the bond at Multan was previously bad? 4 Finals in a row man speaks volumes about the team unity.

Man released Salman Mirza and Ahmed Daniyal for Waseem JR, Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas

I don’t think these are sensible trades. Mirza and Daniyal are solid T20 bowlers
All he had to do was trade Nawaz for Arafat

And keep Daniyal and Salman Mirza.

This will cost them I feel, otherwise they had a side that would win the league.

Farhan
Smith
Phillipe
Shan
Turner
Arafat
Daniyal
Wasim jr
Momin
Salman Mirza
Siddle

Multan Sultans release Sahibzada Farhan, Sohaib Maqsood ahead of Peshawar clash

Former champions Multan Sultans have granted a few days of release to star opening batter Sahibzada Farhan and batting coach Sohaib Maqsood ahead of their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 match against Peshawar Zalmi here at the National Bank Stadium on April 13.

According to the Multan Sultans spokesperson, as per the policy set by team owner Gohar Shah and coach Tim Paine, players are given complete freedom to relax and spend personal time during rest periods.

I find it funny that nobody is talking about the fact that this is basically a new team too, and yet they are top of the table. I mean sure, they are called Multan Sultans... but if it wasn't for some behind-the-scenes stuff, they would have been called Sialkot Stallionz.

The discourse around the other two new teams is that they are new and don't know how to navigate this landscape. But actually, it all comes down to competent management - which is integral to running any successful sports team in the world.

Multan Sultans are a competently run team, while Hyderabad and Pindiz are not.

They also bought some good players like Farhan top scorer in World T20 Turner who won BBL Smith who's a better T20 now than before...... But they could slip up somewhere later on bowling isn't the strongest.

Bowling isn't the strongest but good enough to get them in the top 2. Qalandars probably have the strongest bowling which makes them favorites.

Qalandars' bowling is strong but I don't think it is strong enough to defend today's total of 100 against United. I think Multan Sultans have a most balanced squad at the moment.

Bhai which bowling attack is strong enough to defend a total of 100?

End of the tournament will be played in Lahore and Qalandars players thrive on that ground. Multan have the best batting, but Qalandars batting is pretty good too and their bowling is the difference-maker

Seems down to earth

Awfully boring person to listen to, very hard to keep engaged listening to him, very easy to snooze off.

I think he’s very lucky to have inherited a brilliant core leadership group in Payne, Turner and then stalwarts like Smith, Phillipe and Farhan.

He deserves credit for appointing Turner as captain though.

I’m more interested in seeing how he would have formed a team if he had a clean slate like Pindiz and Kingsmen did.

He inherited a good core of players tbh and he did bring arafat and ig sold saad.

He was on table with quetta and quetta ig have messed up their team with mixed thoughts in the auction tho still a long tournament to go but multan has looked top 2 team uptil now and quetta hasnt looked like a top 4 team
