Very close to T20 WC conclusion

Can't believe Shaheen is odi captain

He can't even bowl 4 overs properly

How will he bowl 10 overs

This series has the potential to rival Ashes.

You can call it the Banglajabi Cup 🏆

Good series. I see all matches at the same stadium. Mostly not much economic sense in spreading out the game around in BD. It will be 2-1 for either side

Ban wil drag Pak to their level of cricket now and the series will " close fought and competitive now " :ROFLMAO:

Many don’t realize, but this is potentially where the future of world cricket will be decided. The next gen of cricketers to disturb the status quo.

A very important and historic series.

India and especially South Africa may be or may not be watching closely. Don’t want to say for sure.

I see they have split up the tour in 2 legs. This is the first leg.

2nd leg is in May when Pakistan are scheduled to play 2 Tests in Bangladesh (part of WTC).

Should have arranged the ODI series after Eid perhaps. Why arrange it during Ramadan? Difficult for players to fast and play.

Anyway, hoping for a good series. :inti

Great opportunity for Pakistani fans to explore the beauty of Dhaka. How many are going?

Dhaka is much better to visit than Indian cities. :inti

In Dhaka, people are friendlier, foods are much better, no hindu extremist group like bajrang dal, much less scammers, much less rapists etc.

As a matter of fact, whole of subcontinent are better places to visit than India. :dav

I am aware of the tourism potential brother, hence my question.

No, it's not the site of a nuclear explosion - just a pitch at Shere Bangla Stadium, Mirpur

I'm just beaming at thought of spinners bowling all 50 overs of an innings to restrict the opposition side to potentially unchaseable total of 207. Notice the complete lack of sarcasm in my voice. I'm just jumping with excitement in my chair. You may not see it but I am.

This is what BCB president Aminul also went to pcb for, not just t20 wc issue related. Good job Aminul Islam and Mr Naqvi. Brothers are coming to their 2nd home. Bangladesh will welcome Pakistan team with open arms under the new BD gov led by a male PM after 30 years which mostly a certain puppet, a saitan who was forcefully in charge for the last 16years. Pakistan cricket team will travel to an fully independent brotherly nation of Bangladesh.

Welcome PCT. Dhaka, BD awaits you. Marhabah!

This picture is an illustration of why Bangladesh never took off in any format.

Bangladesh will probably give spin pitches. :inti

I don't mind 230-250 pitches for ODI.

Recently BCB arranged a 3-team t20 cup and it was high scoring both teams in the final scored over 200 runs. So, let’s hope it will be decent for batting in the series coming up.

BD has to be worst place to play cricket. Pitches like these is what makes them such an entertaining losers

Because that’s all BD can do. Your team level is tier 3 or below. Don’t pull others down to your level to fight them. At least once in life climb over (not the fences) your level and improve your skills and standing in life

I see.

Let's see what type of pitch they dish out. I personally do not like 300+ scores for ODI. I like 240-260 pitches. I want to see a balance between bat and ball.

Pakistan's tour of Bangladesh in limbo as ODI squad overhaul on cards

Pakistan's upcoming tour of Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series faces an uncertain future due to the ongoing regional tensions, while significant changes are expected in their squad for the upcoming assignment, sources told Geo Super on Sunday.

The Green Shirts are scheduled to reach Bangladesh on March 9 for the ODI series, with all three matches scheduled to be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on March 11, 13 and 15, respectively.

However, the ongoing regional tensions have made the tour uncertain, which, according to the insiders, would only proceed if the prevailing situation does not escalate travel risks or security concerns.

Meanwhile, the discussions regarding the Green Shirts' squad for the upcoming assignment are expected to commence this week as the former champions shift their focus towards the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, set to be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

According to the sources, the selection committee is expected to make significant changes to the composition of the contingent, with youngsters likely to be given the breakthrough at the expense of underperforming first-choice players like Babar Azam, Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz.

Since the Green Shirts do not have an immediate T20I assignment, no swift action is expected regarding the shortest format's squad, but around five to six players are likely to be phased out of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, sources claimed further.

For the unversed, Pakistan last featured in ODIs in November last year when they hosted Sri Lanka for a three-match series and clean-swept it.

It marked the second series for ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi as the captain in the longer format, with his maiden assignment being a three-match home series against South Africa, which the Green Shirts won 2-1.

Saim phased out for what? 2 out of his last 4 innings are 50+ & his replacement attempt Haseebullah was out for a duck in the last game that he played. Saim has an average/strike rate of 45+/100 and is also a decent off spinner which makes him even more important considering the left handed batters that BD have. Babar's last innings in an ODI was a 100. I may not like a player or two but this is format mixing of the highest order.

The only addition that can be done is adding Sahibzada but other than that, there isn't much to do in the batting department.

In the bowling, Faisal Akram bowled well so he retains his place. Abrar has been decent too so that doesn't need a change. Waseem Jr. continues to get a place and Shaheen was the captain last I checked.

Saim
Sahibzada
Babar
Fakhar
Rizwan
Agha
Nawaz/Shadab/Khushdil
Shaheen (c) lmao
Waseem Jr.
Abrar
Faisal Akram/Tariq

I really like Faisal Akram. Its high time we say goodbye to serial bottlers like Shadab, Nawaz & Khushdil and pave way for proper spinners. If we need an allrounder in the XI, I would rather pick Faheem. Faheem has proven to be more effective with the ball as compared to full time pacers for Pakistan.
