Best XI

1. Shamyl (E)
2. Harper (WK) *
3. Nafay
4. Hasan
5. Rossouw *
6. Bevon *
7. Arafat
8. Jahandad
9. Spencer *
10. Abrar
11. Usman

They'll have a nasty spin attack and that should always keep them in the game. Shocked how much Nafay ended up getting but they paid to keep him. Think they will need to rely on Shamyl emerging.

Faisal akram looks like he'll be buried on this team behind Abrar/Tariq and potentially Minhas. Hope Minhas gets a proper look though this season.

Batting looks horrible... Cannot see any genuine pacer in the side... Abrar and Usman are being trusted too much

???

Their batting is their selling point. No other side has a combination of young attacking local batters like Quetta. Really looking forward to seeing Shamyl, Nafay and Hasan Nawaz light up the PSL inshAllah.

saud?? shamyl is young but is he gonna win the tournament? Hasan is the only guy who can punch above his weight like he did last time.. Nafay is still raw..

Shamyl almost won the President’s trophy this year, captaining PTV to the final, despite having an OK squad at best. They also have Roussow and Arafat Minhas is a very promising young player.

That’s not a ‘horrible’ batting lineup. Theyll definitely surprise people

Shamyl has not done anything so far in T20s... He will get tested... Rilee is old but yeah, he is the best they got atm.

Best team last year before final won 8 in a row i think amir and faheem failed to defend 30 of last 2 overs. Good to see them giving a few younger a players a chance... Saud hassan rossouw main batters from last year still there.

Hyderbad have best young attacking batters.

Another very difficult XI to build.

1. Shamyl Hussain/Jahanzaib Sultan
2. Sam Harper (WK)(O)
3. Khawaja Nafay
4. Ben McDermott/Rilee Rossouw (O)
5. Hassan Nawaz (C)
6. Bevon Jacobs (O)
7. Jahandad Khan
8. Ahmed Daniyal
9. Abrar Ahmed
10. Spencer Johnson (O)
11. Usman Tariq

This XI was super difficult to do man. The overseas players Quetta have brought in are pretty good, Brett Hampton & Tom Curran are good players who could play a part if Quetta are to win it.

I can back their batting to score 200+ every game on a flat deck

Jahandad at 7 is high ig
He is a no 8 batsman at max

Abrar Usman Ahmad Spencer is a good bowling lineup

Saud and Hasan nawaz can roll their fingers too

They might make saud captain again or rossouw

Jahandad showed some real capabilities with the bat in his debut PSL season.

He just hit a few but he isnt dependable as no 7. He is usama mir abbas afridi type batter atm. He can hit long but cant be called a batter.

Oooohhhh I think that's harsh on Jahandad.

Usama Mir can hit sixes as can Abbas but Jahandad Khan has better application than both.

Jahandad has 15 batting avg in t20s and abbas has 12 almost.
Abbas has developed his batting alot whilst jahandad hasnt. He is at same level as he was in his debut season.
If pcb is serious about developing their all rounders they should communicate with regional coaches and ask them to play them in top 5 positions in domestica at any cost.
Ashwin, David willey, etc all batted at higher positions in domestics and it shows.
Faheem, Jahandad, Abbas, Nawaz, Jamal all are batting at 7 or below. How can they develop batting at that position.

The never are. The domestic coaches don't want to play a potential pace all rounder in top 5 positions because it comprises their batting

Because there is no job security in Pakistan. The regions and teams are there to win domestic tournament but not act as a feeding vessel to pak intl team. You can win domestic tournament with 11 mediocre okayish players but none of them will make it to the intl team.

Head Coach of National Team and selectors should give directive to domestic teams on which players are in their radar and what they want out of them.

Lack of depth in the pace attack! It will be interesting to see how they go about their bowling plans.

Saud Shakeel shared following thoughts in a presser today:

Team Strategy and Quetta Gladiators' Goals

* "We will do it the way we did in the last season. If we look at the overall performance of the last season, it was very impressive; we were very comfortable."
* "We reached the final, but lost at the very last moment. We are starting anew and will try to play the same style of cricket to make Quetta Gladiators the champions."

Ambitions for White-Ball Cricket
* "This season is very important to me because of the upcoming One Day Cricket World Cup. Keeping that in mind, it is very important for me to perform well and get the selectors to look at me again."

Squad Composition and Auction Changes
* "The team has been reshaped, but our batting strength is much the same as last year. There is a new unit of fast bowlers, and we have to see what kind of rhythm they have at this time."
* "We will try to figure out the combination as quickly as possible and put on a good show."

Playing Without Fans in the Stadium
* "When we get on the field, the excitement and passion of the match will remain the same, even if there are no fans. We will definitely miss their presence, as it brings a different kind of enthusiasm."
* "If there is good competition, the fans will enjoy it while sitting at home. We request them to support the PSL from their homes."

The Transition to an Eight-Team Tournament

* "This is the first season in which there will be eight teams. With some teams, we will play double-headers, and with others, a single match."
* "We will see how this season goes and how it concludes; from next year, it will be easier to understand these dynamics."

RizBar are loathed for their SR, but Saud Shakeel never gets the Slack
Yes.

We decide when and where we will destroy a player for their misuse of power and strike rate. This torture will not stop for RizBar and their sorry fans until the cancer is wiped out from Pakistan cricket.

Jitna rona hai ro lai!

The daftness of some fans is obvious, using a different scale for RizBar but being blind eye on other players

So for what should he get any slack? Babar-Rizwan are criticized for pushing Pakistan cricket backwards in the limited formats.
Because he is the captain of a franchise.... Should he be held accountable by the management and fans??? it is about PSL bro

During PSL, he gets criticism when he plays slow. Here's my post from the last season (and I wasn't even much active on PSL threads)
