But good humor from him and good to see a funny side to the players
Surprised to see u not boiling over it :![]()
Great of him. And now you should see his power on social media. He has got '#fansinheart trending within 10 mins!
Slowly becoming a superstarrrrrr...............................
He took it in good spirits instead of getting annoyed by it, which was good to see.
Taking selfies is not the problem and nor is it a big deal; its his general behaviour in Twitter where he undermined Azhar after he became captain and favorited tweets that called PCB a joke and Wasim and Rameez stupid etc., as well as those comparison tables with former great players after X number of matches.
I cringe at his narcissism too and truly believe that he suffers from delusional grandiosity.
However, just speaking of skills, you seriously underrate him. in fact u shrugged him off as useless right from the start.
Even when he didn't play that many matches, u called him, when clearly he is a much superior batsman to that TTF legend.
At the same time what I don't understand is your support forand
, when on one hand u condemn shehzad for not being a modern LOI batsman.
Does shafiq appear to be a better stroke maker to u than :ahmed?
Shehzad is the not the worst batsman to play for Pakistan, of course he has some capabilities and you cannot play international cricket without being good, but after 2 years of having a free run in ODIs, his output was nowhere good enough especially when you consider his SR.
A SR of 73 in this era of short boundaries, flat pitches and big bats is criminal, and if you compare the major teams except West Indies who have been borderline minnows in ODIs for a while, only Cook had done worse than Shehzad and he was dropped by England as captain, but he was hailed for his performance as if he was on his way to becoming world class.
Shafiq is a good batsman and he has all the shots, but he needs to stop going into his shell all the time. Whenever he tries to play freely, he looks good. If you look at his early ODI performances in 2010-2011, he was a better ODI than he is now even though he is a much improved batsman overall now. However, after the emergence of Haris who I think is a better batsman potential wise and now with Azhar back in the ODI team as well, I don't think Shafiq deserves to play ODI cricket at the moment unless he changes his approach, because I do believe he has what it takes to succeed in this format because I consider him to be a better batsman than Shehzad.
Amin's case is a bit complicated, he is a touch player with a great gift for timing and call play shots on both sides of the wicket with a straight bat without taking the aerial route, but he is way too laid back. He seems to coast on his talent and has not shown the fire in his belly to succeed and fight for his runs. Like Asad, if he can improve his attitude he can deliver in Tests and ODIs, but neither of them should be in the T20 team because they don't have the power game.
If Shehzad can improve his attitude and acknowledge his shortcomings, he too can improve as a player but the problem is that he is a narcissist and when you think of yourself as twice the player that you are, there is not much room for growth.
On the contrary, Umar Akmal has some attitude issues as well but he does not come across as a narcissist and you can feel that he knows that he has to do better.
I thought that too, but the recent interview by Saj bhai gives the impression that he's not too dissimilarOn the contrary, Umar Akmal has some attitude issues as well but he does not come across as a narcissist and you can feel that he knows that he has to do better.

Good on Shehzad to stop and pose for a selfie. There were a few cricketers who didn't even bother waving to the crowd.

Like? Just curious.
One thing people kept saying was that there weren't really special cheers for Umar Akmal, even though Lahore is his home. I really think he's not as popular as people say he is.
Let's not been harsh on him today. He played well, had fun, enjoyed the connection with fans. Great scenes.
i hope he matures and does some hard work on his cricket... when he came in, i thought he was one of the best openers for pak since Saeed Anwar left.. guy had courage and class and mental strength. but his ego got the better of him.... he is still young so Ahmad Shahzad v2.0 with commitment and hardwork could be interesting .... wishes wishes wishes
Really what was so special about him in 2009 when he made his debut, apart from tuk tuk at 65 SR?
its not always abt the strike rate, esp at that time when 275 was Par score....
His innings in NZ ( i think it was his debut series) and the way he handeled pace and bounce was delightful. and thts what you need in a youngster. he could have built very strongly on that ,.... just didnt have tht commitment ....
