He was spouting abuse when Tamim Iqbal was out and then when Mushfiqur Rehman was out (he took the catch) , he made this face

What's he trying to say?

What's this supposed to be?

Virat Bro - take it easy and stop playing to the galleries. You are better than that.

cricket needs this kind of character. there is no set rule. there is a reason why cricket has not been extended to other countries as much as we all expect so far in last 100+ yrs.

My favorite player currently. But sorry to say he can't control his emotions on the field. Off the field he can control it very well though.

Ohh cmon yr its all out of fun.. everyone knows how passionate he is about cricket. we all celebrated something this way when we play back yard cricket.. its all good thoda chidana uksana banta hai...

Enough of this gentleman's approach. Cricket is such a soft sport that when two players talk near each other, the teams separate them as if there was physical contact. I don't like Kholi but we need more like him on the cricket field. Cricket has become such a meek sport where cricketers aren't allowed to express themselves anymore.

Team India has got a history with Mushfiqur because of his premature celebrations in that WT20 game against them, which Bangladesh ended up losing. Mushfiq also tweeted a picture of himself celebrating India's loss later on. So this was a send off for all that in my opinion.

Captain of Indian national team, representing India at the biggest stage on a massive occassion. And this is how he behaves. Shameful.

He seems to be unusually animated against BD and its not because he thinks they are a tough one to beat despite what he said in news conference

You have a captain who doesn't know where his tongue should be when he is captaining his country. Forget cricket, does your country need this kind of character? If yes, says a lot about you as a person.

Nothing wrong with this :)) It's to intimidate the opponents. Who cares how else he behaves on the field as long as he is still performing like the best batsman in the world

He's a bit antsy since it's his first major ICC tournament as a captain. As long as it doesn't lead him to make rash/stupid decisions, I say let him act like how he wants to.

its just a way to taunt mushfiq. Mushfiq himself has posted stuff on social media dissing India its all banter n have no issues with it.

Adda spice to the game

never liked him..hope he gets brought down a few notches..the arrogance is infuriating and shows a lack of class..

stop whinging about every little thing. enjoy the cricket. maybe you are not enjoying as indians are doing well:))

These are reflex reactions from intense minds.
Hard to comprehend by some.

Atleast he is celebrating for the catch he took on his own unlike others who celebrates othes victories over their archrivals as they/their fellow countrymen cant do😂😂

Lol people are too fast to judge these days.. I don't see any issue here on the field aggression and banter is fine..

How did he behave? I don't see how he did anything to be ashamed of? Sledging is part n parcel of game every team, every player does it.. And he is just celebrating here, Tahir celebrates in his way, xyz celebrates in his way, kohli celebrates in his way what's wrong?

I loved it, must be because he was the one who told jadhav to bowl in that region and musfiq was cruising his luck till then, not to forget his antics after India lost to WI. I say, well done Kohli. :14:

Normal reaction on taking a sharp catch on a full toss he thought will go for four.

To be honest he can do what he wants.

Mentally destroys all the other Asian sides so until someone can defeat him he will carry on.

Yea people over exaggerate and scrutinise every thing a player does these days.. Like they all are angels in their lives..

I guess OP didn't see it when Kohli was being friendly to Mashrafe , putting hands on his shoulders at the later part of innings.
 Some people would complain about anything

Probably Kohli just remembered that Mushfiq Tweet during India's loss to WI in Semi final WT20.

I don't think he was trying to rile Mushfiqur there, he was probably happy that he got a wicket on hit me ball and hence his reaction to Kedar Jadhav.

No need to admire Kohli, he isn't begging for anyones admiration. His bat does the talking.

.............Cricket will extend to other countries by making weird faces at the opposition?

Such antics belong in a circus like WWE.

With gentleman approached, only a dazen country emerged in a century. Now it's time to try other way around.

.............Cricket will extend to other countries by making weird faces at the opposition?

who sets that rule or line? yes it will make it more interesting to watch. will bring in more people to the stadium or watching it on tv.

Not sure what's wrong with it. Got no issues with aggrssive/boorish behavior on the field.

Kohli is class, he performs on the field, off the field and he has mic skills. He can do whatever he wants as he's the boss

My favorite player currently. But sorry to say he can't control his emotions on the field. Off the field he can control it very well though.

Would your favourite player ever do this?

Can anyone post pic with Mortaza where they were smiling n having a friendly chat in the last few overs ?

Kaali Maa! Jai Hind Kholi, lead India to their back to back Champions trophy Inshala!

It's mainly due to the recent history between India and Bangladesh as a lot has happened, you won't really see something like this between Pak and Bangladesh. Tamim is known to get into fights from what I've seen.

looked classless and kiddish. Not sure how he manage himself so well with Mic in hand.

he's captain now and should show a bit more respect..these antics just amplify the distaste of team India. Sooner or later everyone comes down with a bump..

It is nothing special. We pak fans didn't complain when had a guy like him in our side who used to rile up other teams & umpires alike (Miandad)

Pretty cowardly to only do this when you get a wicket or when the situation suits you. Where was this attitude and behavior against Sri Lanka?

So he is supposed to care what some opposition fan on pakpassion thinks, he has millions of fans who like his antics and niether those millions nor he cares if you like or hate team india or him.

What did he do actually? No one here has been able to explain what exactly were hai actions? Just celebrating a wicket by making face in the OP is cowardly and embarrassing?

I don't see what everyone's crying about. Do we remember our beloved Afridi blowing kisses to Kallis after hitting him for a six?

That's Kiwi haka.

Nothing wrong. He did not do it on the batsman's face. So its all good.

Whats wrong in it?? He moved to the left anticipating the catch and hence was expressing his joy after the catch was taken...

From the OP:

"He was spouting abuse when Tamim Iqbal was out"

Looks like this irritated Bangladesh so much that they don't want Kholi getting his century today so not letting Dhawan and Rohit get out

IMAD Waseem said BC when someone got out in India pak matchforgornwho it was.. A lot of players abuse when passions are running high, read the interviews of players of old players especially Australians they play he game fiercely on the field but off the field they go and have a drink and chill out with other players..

As long as Kohli doesn't go over board with his abuse (like McGrath did to Sarwan) these things happen in cricket and should not be made an issue out of..

Sachin/Dravid were constantly abused by players from all nationalities bt they never reacted and never cribbed about it.. Great players let their bat do the talking..

Can you actually show a video for the context of the reaction.

I have seen loads of athletes stick their tongue out when they have won a race or scored a goal, as a means to let steam out and not just rile up the opposition. Even if he was riling up up the opposition, no big deal.

Why do you get over the moon when you are happy. It varies people to people on how you express yourself. I dont see anything bad in this. He was not mocking anyone just enjoying the wicket. If West Indies people celebrate their way, Akhtar celebrates in his own way then why cant he? Whats the harm in it

Imad wasim isnt the captain of the side to begin with. And After a wicket is taken, its pointless and disgraceful to hurl abuses no matter who does it. Before taking a wicket, sledging can be used to distract the batsman. My personal opinion.

That's part of the game.Aussies used to do it all the time and it made for an exciting watch. On one hand people want to see aggression and excitement displayed on the field but start crying whenever someone from India so much as even stare at the opposition team.
Some of y'all need to grow up.

Bhai different people have different personalities like I said you might not do it yourself since you have a more calmer and soft personality but that doesn't mean others who have a more fierce and expressive personality would not do it. As long as it all stays on the field and limit is not crossed it's fine IMO..

There is nothing disgraceful about it and nothing about being the captain or a normal player..

The New Zealand Rugby team does the sane to the other team in the form of hakka and that somehow creates a Competitive atmosphere and Kohli did this looking towards Jadhav and it becomes shameful to many .. That's Strange ..

Sorry to say, but lost all respect for him. He should behave like a captain, not a sarak ka gunda.

That expression was funny... that makes him both funny and classy... as long as he is classy when batting (which he is doing right now as I type) and funny on the field when celebrating, there is no problem and he will continue to to be India's pride and neighbour's envy.
