His captaincy has been good but he just followed the basics. On this surface he did what was needed and that's it. Sarfraz would have done the same. What's the point when he's not a good enough player in big international matches.
 
Akmal should be punished by being dropped from T20s too

According to commies, they have never seen such huge crowd for National games, and especially for 50 over game.
Since last 3 days, crowd is amazing.

A bowler is not a machine and can drop 1 or 2 balls short (unintensionally).

At this you can convey to your bowler in decent way aswell to pitch it up rather than shatter the confidence of the youngster by putting him under undue extra pressure.


But pseudo Kohli is aggressive captain ;-)

He 'll Captain 1 more match & I wish Baluchistan fields 1st in that match - you can tell only after that. Once I see him Captaining facing 100/1 (20) on a dying wicket, then we 'll understand kiske paas kitna daam. He has 3 of the best spinners in Pakistan (Check Zoaib's domestic stats) on a 10th day Test wicket & defending a score which is equivalent to 350 on a standard Indian ODI wickets.
 
Why are we discussing the captaincy of a player who isn't good enough. We've seen his recent international performance

Indian batsmen showed their class on turners recently. However, this is not a turner - this is dead slow & low wicket, where you can't use the pace of the ball, can't use your feet against spinners & can't get under the ball to loft it. Unless, rank half-volley & long-hops are bowled, any International side will not chase 200 on this track in an even contest.

The pitch is perfectly fine , the batsmen are not good enough to use their wrists well. The ball is coming onto the bat nicely.

Yeah, his captaincy is decent. BUt our captains have a habit of shattering confidence.

I remember Waqar saying how what Afridi did to Nawaz in the world t20 shattered his confidence as well, the effect of which maybe we are seeing in this tournament.

There are 3 fundamentals of a good wicket -

1. Solid base - 1 metre below the wicket, the ground must be rock hard; in AUS, they use rock, in UK they use special mountain clay which is compact. In Bangladesh, they use cement mixture & concrete mix below the surface. This has nothing to do with weather or climate.

2. % of clay in the top surface. Normally, they put soil with 80% fine grain clay & 20% rough clay & compost to grow the grass. This has nothing to do with weather or climate - Punjab & Indus bed has some of the best clay in world. In contrary what PAK groundsmen do is they use salt water to kill the grass, therefore there is no root inside the top surface. It doesn't bond when watered, neither breaks when dried. In IND, for Test wicket they stop watering few days back, while in LO wicket keep rolling with water till match day.

3. The amount of rolling, baking & watering. This has some impact from weather & climate. However, watering can be done artificially, while rolling is manual/automotive. In Nov/DEC sun baking is an issue (that's why PCB has opted that window for FC cricket), but sun baking is not an issue in late April. I think, it was Intekhab, who threatened IND with Sohaib's pace in 2005, then Lahore wicket produced 678/5 & 418/1 .... Shahriar Khan later said that due to poor weather & lack of sun, groundsmen couldn't prepare wicket (therefore it became a wicket where timeless Test won't have produced result).

Climate & weather has nothing to do with preparing wickets - WACA was the fasted wicket in world, while Western Australia is one of the driest part of world. Then, Old Traford is the ground where Laker took 19 wickets & it has some of the best spin tracks ever - Manchester is one of the wettest place on earth.

The 1st clue of incompetence is, when you give excuse, you'll sound like clue less idiot - hear PCB groundsmen & you 'll understand that.

So, basically if Punjab wins their next 2 matches (tough, one against Sindh), basically win their next 2 tosses, they 'll make the final simply because they are one of the better side so far - lost 2 matches chasing by 12 & 2 runs.

At least 3 spin-allrounders career is finished because PCB decided to carry the Chosen one for 4 more years in ODI. Zoaib, Ashar Zaidi, Kashif. Now they are in their early to mid 30s, therefore shouldn't be considered.
 
I thought, it's 75 runs handicap wicket for batting 1st - ittefaq se winning margin is 75 as well ..................

PCB can arrange financially viable Domestic List A tournament with just domestic players.
 
If anyone still defends Umar Akmal, then they really need to question their cricket knowledge.
 
Nice to see Babar get a fifty but disappointed to see that one get a fifty as well. I hope he is dropped from all formats.
