T10 Final Match Report

ABU DHABI: Asif Ali and Kieron Pollard’s blistering partnership helped New York Strikers edge Deccan Gladiators by seven wickets to win their maiden Abu Dhabi T10 League title at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.


Deccan Gladiators were invited to bat first and they scripted a good start with 24 runs in two overs. However, the New York Strikers pulled them back with three quick wickets and slipped the Gladiators to 41-4 in six overs. Andre Russell along with David Weise then took control and helped the Gladiators recover to finish at a total of 91-5 in their allocated 10 overs.

Russell played a quick-fire knock of 30 runs from 18 balls, laced with two boundaries and as many boundaries, while Weise scored 20 off 11 with the help of two sixes.

Sunil Narine topped the bowling charts for the Strikers with bowling figures of 2-6, while Akeal Hosein, Muhammad Jawadullah and George Scrimshaw picked one wicket each.

In response, New York Strikers lost their opening batters with a mere seven runs on the board, as Trent Boult and Nuwan Thushara picked one wicket each.Niroshan Dickwella (14) and Asif Ali attempted to rebuild the innings with a brief 31-run partnership before Russell dismissed the former.

Ali was joined by skipper Kieron Pollard and together they attacked the Gladiators’ bowling line-up to chase the total with four balls to spare and win the Abu Dhabi T10 League title for the first time.Ali scored an unbeaten 48 from 25 balls with the help of two boundaries and four sixes, while Pollard struck 21 off 13.

Great talents seen in Abu Dhabi T10, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan

Abu Dhabi: His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Tolerance and Coexistence and the Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board arrived at the Zayed Cricket Stadium to kickstart the Final of the Abu Dhabi T10 between Deccan Gladiators and New York Strikers on Saturday. H.E Sheikh Nahayan spoke before the start of the match and congratulated the tournament organisers on a successful edition in Abu Dhabi.

"We have seen great talents this year in Abu Dhabi T10 who have reminded us of the joy and demands of competition and brought us all closer together in the spirit of enjoyment and celebration. Cricket is an international sport that is quite at home in the global community of the United Arab Emirates. With the support of leaders and people of our country, we at Emirates Cricket Board, are proud to bring this tournament to cricket fans everywhere,” he said.

"The sport of cricket encourages important values that are essential for us in the United Emirates. Cricket demands dedication, patience, collaboration, balance, alertness, concentration, technique, judgment, discipline, daring, civility and teamwork. ABU DHABI T10 CONFIRMS 2025 DATES FOR NINTH EDITION OF BLOCKBUSTER FORMAT

The Abu Dhabi T10 will return to the majestic Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi for its seventh season in the emirate on Tuesday 18 November - Sunday 30 November 2025.

The announcement comes just two months after the thrilling conclusion of the 2024 tournament, where Jos Buttler and the Deccan Gladiators triumphed in a dramatic eight-wicket victory over Morrisville Samp Army to claim their third title, cementing their position as the most successful team in T10 history.

“We are thrilled to confirm the dates for the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10,” said Matt Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub. “Together with our strategic partners at Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, we made a strategic commitment in 2019 to develop this international cricket event and showcase the emirate of Abu Dhabi to the wider world. The 2024 edition delivered our strongest player field to date and another impressive season of domestic and international spectator and viewership interest."

He continued, “As we move forward, we are focused on bringing even more innovation and creativity to the tournament, while further establishing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a world-class destination for international sport.”
