The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule for the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, set to be held in Oman. This sixth edition will feature eight teams: Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, Hong Kong, Pakistan A, India A, UAE, and Oman.

In the previous edition held in Sri Lanka in 2023, Pakistan A emerged victorious by defeating India A in the final. The top three teams from the 2024 ACC Men’s Premier Cup, including UAE and Hong Kong, will also compete. The teams are divided into two groups: Group A (Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, and Hong Kong) and Group B (India A, Pakistan A, UAE, and Oman). The highly anticipated match between Pakistan A and India A is scheduled for October 19. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. Pakistan A aims for a hat trick, having won the last two editions, while India A seeks to reclaim the title they last won in 2013.

Indian squad is solid

So Abhishek Sharma is playing for them? This is the same one who plays for SRH right?

Rahul Chahar? That guy shouldn't be playing at all. Also why is Tilak varma playing. He already played for India. So is Abhishek

Besides Hrithik Shokeen, everyone I have seen in IPL

India can’t complain that Pakistan have a more internationally experienced side. They haven’t played the level of cricket these boys have from India

yeah he is the same guy. He played in the recent BD T20i series and was also part of India U19 team

Mohammad Haris, the captain of Pakistan A shared following thoughts regarding the upcoming ACC Men T20 Emerging Asia Cup 2024
:

"Talking about India is banned in the dressing room. Players feel pressure when thinking about the match against India, and we don’t want to put them under pressure,"

"Our preparations are going well. We’re not just focusing on India, but we’ve got important matches against other teams too, like Oman and the UAE,"

"Captaining different teams, including senior players, has been a valuable experience,"

Yes. The Dasher
one of the most destructive left handed openers in the world. Plus Tilak and Sai are two solid middle order batters, and they are better than nearly everyone in Pakistan.

Deepak Chahar is a better leggie than everyone in Pakistan too.

India are fully bulked

you are selling Pak a bit short. I see some decent names there with good exposure. Not sure how they will fare, but they have a decent chance. India and Pak both can win this tournament. I don't know much about Afg and BD players.. SL can be decent too at this level.

India should have selected Mohsin Khan and Umran Malik, Ishan Kishan instead of Abhishek..

And why the hell Bangladesh selected already established Towhid Hridoy? 😂😂

Sediq Atal looks like the next big batting talent from Afghanistan. Won the game singlehandedly with 95* chasing 165 while everyone else around him failed.

Abu Haider Rony, this guy is still "emerging" after a decade and still getting smashed by other emerging players. Saif Hasan in the T20 team LOL.

Haider Ali will announce his retirement from international cricket while playing for Emerging Team. He's a perennial emerging talent.
He has totally lost it. Has no game plan, can't trust his own game not to slog and can't rotate strike.

Abu Haider Rony, this guy is still "emerging" after a decade and still getting smashed by other emerging players. Saif Hasan in the T20 team LOL.
 who selects these players for emerging cup tournaments! Absolute khet joke! Saif shouldnt be there, he isnt suited to t20s at all, he should he groomed to be better in test format thats his main format IMO. Instead they are giving Zakir Ali chances who hasnt scored a 50+ innings in hist last 9 test matches which is 18innings. Abu Hider not good enough, shouldnt be there, Tawhid shouldnt be there as he is a regular LOI national team player. Mossadekk Hossain, Sabbir Rahman or soumya Sarkar should’ve had chance to gain some form!

Look out for - Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby. He looks good, could be the next good allrounder like SAH for BD. I have high hopes for this youngster.

Pak pace bowling looking very weak , The trio of Imran , Zaman and Abbas are just not good enough to ever play for Pakistan , They should have gone with Ubaid Shah and Ali Raza and expose them to high pressure games as this will be good for their development as they clearly have the potential to play for Pakistan and more importantly they both are younger and quicker then the current trio. Only Dahani deserved to be there in the lineup as he clearly looking much improved this season and even Hasnain would have been a good fit here but he would have been an overkill for these emerging youngsters as he is currently demolishing any batter he is bowling to.

What the hell? Afg were hammering India going at 10 per over around 130 0dd for 0 after 13 and then a batsman misses and plays and the Indian players start appealing and bullying, on field umpire says not out and then sends it to the 4th umpire because he got scared and then the 4th umpire overturned his decision to out even though there was NO DRS or Snicko. Utterly disgraceful.

It seems like one of the bad days are going for indian cricket.

Afghanistan A team is giving phainti to India A team

So currently in the Emerging Cup Afg were really hammering India A going at 10 per over around 130 0dd for 0 after 13 overs and then a batsman plays and misses (probably bat hitting ground or pad) and the Indian players start appealing and bullying the on field umpire who says not out but the captain keeps on bullying him and then the umpire sends it to the 4th umpire for some reason. The 4th umpire then overturns the onfield umpires decision to out with no evidence because there was NO DRS or Snicko. The Afg batter was almost in tears. Players sometimes push the umpires but it is the umpires job to stay put. This was utterly disgraceful.

None of BD's current, emerging or U19 players seem to be good enough to pay T20s.. not sure what is happening there..
