Something very odd in this technology or its implementation

Something very odd in how the spikes go up when the bat hits the ground. Very odd indeed.

Something really fishy. Bat hitting the pitch should should certainly make silent noise.

The bat hit the ground. This was hardly a controversy.

No one is talking about the bat hitting the ground, we are talking about the inconsistency in the picture and ultraedge

Both ultraedge and hotspot are flawed. Ultraedge is more flawed than hotspot.
I have seen many dubious decisions made on the basis of ultraedge. It needs to be more fine tuned and tested before being used as a conclusive evidence.

These are two different frames.

1st picture shows no spike on ultra edge because there's no bat or pad involved. However the 2nd picture shows spike because the bat hit the ground is the next frame

Two altogether different pictures. Check where the ball is in both the pictures. In the first picture the ball is far away from the yellow vertical line on the trouser. In the second picture the ball is on the yellow line on the trouser.

Because they are two different frames? The ultra edge in second is when bat hits the ground

There isnt any controversy here.

Look ultra edge works on the basis of noise. Now there will be times when the ball is just kissing something and no noise might be created.

Soo stuff like this is bound to happen.

But one thing is certain, ultra edge is 10times better than the naked eye.

Whenever we critisize technology, the only option that is left is taking out technology all together and get less accuracy on decision.

Technology wont be 100% accufate but it could give a 90-99% accuracy which the naked eye cant give.

Another poster in this thread was critisizing hotspot.

Again hotspot works on the friction created.

No controversy. Two different frames. Also the system could be programmed to ignore spikes from ball hitting ground etc.
