[PICTURES] Lord's Lunch Menu

You invite Muslims to your home, you’re gonna serve Pork to them in the Buffet?

This is not a restaurant.

This is international sports relations

You invite Indian cricket team
Knowing most of them are Sanatanis. Why would you serve Beef

How many of the squad actually follow this sanatanis? You keep saying this but have offered no proof whatsoever? Mabye Lords asked if they had issues with beef and they perhaps replied we want it?

You are old enough to understand this is not about individuals.

This is the Indian cricket team.

If Pakistan team says it’s ok with Pork would you have MCC serve Pork to a Pakistani contingent wearing Pakistani / Islamic flags?

We live in an age we desis are supposed to take care of even superficial things like how to greet British royal family people and behave in their presence and yet MCC shamelessly serves Beef to a cricket team which is full of Sanatanis.

Let’s not defend the white folks here just because they have higher per capita income.

Let’s stand for ideals

So if every player eats beef, it should still not be offered? You are not privy to the teams view but are making judgements on their behalf.

If every Pak player wants to eat Pork, so be it. Pork is not holy to Muslims.

I wouldn’t let to slide if I was a Pakistani.

Brother when you go to a restaurant you are not a tourist side or guest. They are not catering with you in mind you are a paying customer or patron. Here, India is visiting team or guest at Lords and Beef is a massive taboo for them. It's just basic manners and decency.

Look at how Asian countries treat Western touring teams as Royalty.
What if Siraj want's to eat halal beef? Should they ignore his prefences? Genuine question. (I myself hardly eat beef anyway)

A person can temporarily put aside their "want" to respect another's sentiment and deeply held belief, especially if it is for a guest. For example on airlines a person may want to eat peanuts but is prohibited if even one passenger has an allergy.

Only after interaction on PP with posters like @uppercut ( although I disagree with him on many things) I realised the severity of beef to some Hindus. It is not just dietary, it is a combination of dietary and blasphemy. For Muslims, it would be equivalent to being served Pork in a room full of the hideous, blasphemous cartoons shown in Denmark about our religion.

For desis, these beef things become Hindu/Muslims and a chance to get one over on people, but as a Western-based Muslim, I feel that the best way to protect my religious beliefs in this society, is also to accept and fight for the beliefs of others, especially if making someone else feel safe and secure is nothing but a minor convenience.

He can have it in the separate non Sanatani food section.

I don't agree with the first part about peanuts, as that is a completely different issue.

However, I fully understand and respect the rest of your post. I agree that Siraj or any other Muslim on the team won't suffer if they don't eat beef with the team. That said, there shouldn't be any issue if he prefers to eat beef, but he should do so in a separate food section, as @Bhaijaan mentions in his post. The best thing, however, is to avoid it altogether.

First of all, what a terrible menu for any touring team. I would rather get the Greggs meal deal, honestly, I’ve had better lunches than that playing club cricket.

Secondly, if Beef is on the menu, so what, these extreme Hinduvta’s need to deal with it, you don’t need to eat it but others who are able to shouldn’t need to amend their dietary requirements to pander to your sensitivities. This is the energy they keep with muslims in their own country, fair to say if Siraj wasn’t a pro cricketer, he would have been lynched by the Bhaijaans of India.

Sadly those are alien concepts for most muslims even the educated ones as can be seen right here on this forum on the various cow related threads. Hence why there is little chance of peaceful co-existence with Muslims for Hindus. It just doesn't exist.

One thing people need to understand Indians are not tourists or guests. They are here to play cricket. This is a work assignment; no different than an office employee traveling for work.

When teams tour India, do India go out of their way to accommodate other teams? I don't think so.

England showed weakness by giving in to their demands. :inti

You are busy pretending to be a Sanatani, while Indian players are busy enjoying chicken tikka. Real Sanatanis would be ashamed. :inti

Chicken tikka is not a problem.

Only Beef from sacred cow. If it’s Buffalo or Non sacred cow it’s a lesser issue but still need to be sensitive to religious beliefs

It really doesnt bother me if anyone eats Pork or drinks alcohol. Beef is common on English menus. Also how do you know this is cow meat? If imported from India, no issues then?

I would order the beef dish if halal, and if I came to event with Indian friends in the group to whom beef is taboo, then I would temporarily sit somewhere else and FaceTime them so they don’t feel left out without my company while I’m still able to obliterate that Filet of Beef and enjoy some Salam Cola.

And then I will return to my seat with my Indian friends after I’m done. I love vegetables too so perhaps they will save me some palak paneer when I’m back as well.

Win-Win.

Yup. I may do the same. A delicious 14 oz juicy medium-well steak + Salaam Cola or Palestine Cola. One of the best meals you can have.

I don't think I can easily ignore a delicious beef dish. Beef and egg are two of my favorite dishes. :inti

I honestly don't know why sanghis are so mad about someone eating beef. If someone eats pork near me, I wouldn't mind at all since it is not impacting me or my food. I think sanghis are just wannabes who want to be angry for attentions. :inti
