Firstly I'm happy for the guy.

But was it really a wise move to do 10 pushups before resuming to bat? It may tire him just a touch enough to break his concetration, unecessary load on his body.

Already a feat for a 42 year old guy to make a 100, no need for these tiring celebrations.

That was quite a celebration... He avoided the historic cricketing sajda to do Pushups..

I rememebr Younis Khan do something like this vs India in 2005..

Great celebration.. Moment of the day!!

Lol it was great. Was probably a nod to Younis' celebration against India at Mohali

Here come the extreme analysis, give Misbah a break. :))

If you think those 10 pushups would tire him out you have no idea about the fitness levels of these players. Give the guy a break.

The salute was fine, reminded me of the epic mustache curl to Whatmore when we chased 300 vs SL.

But the pushups may or may not have tired up him a touch to hurt his concentration. Cricketers' concentration is a very sensitive thing, just a little bit of activity near the sight screen can hurt it at times for e.g.

I loved the salute more than the push-ups.

Found this that you might really like:

"Misbah's celebration is an answer to those who were confused if his beard is religious or swag"

:))) :)))

Brilliant from Misbah.

Showing people he's still got the stamina and strength for long innings.

If he's tired after a few push-ups then the Kakul boot camp was for nothing !

OP was right, Shafiq got tired just looking at that celebration.

So OP, what about the technique of his push-ups, could you share some knowledge on that too?

Absolute Gold.

Salute to Misbah you made us Proud.

Feel abit Sorry for some harsh criticism in past if any.

Honest, Dedicated, Hard Worker, Leader.

That celebration though.. man, warrior, king and soon to be conqueror all rolled in one.

With that beard Misbah looks like Shahenshah from the old bollywood movie. Almost expect him to tell the opposition captian 'Rishtay mein to hum tumharay baap lagtay hain, naam hai Misbah' :misbah

App he promised the army boys he would do 10 press up's if he hits a ton. Good technique too : )

Beautiful. Loved it. Can someone post the slow mo celebration in the dressing room. That was wicked as well.

First day of a long tour. Congrats to Misbah. I wanted him and want him as a captain for the tours of Eng, NZ, Aus but this is a very long tour. Early days

[PICTURES] Misbah-ul-Haq's 100 celebration

What a lovely and admirable guy. I really like Misbah, a true ambassador of Pakistan at the sport in general. So good to see him do so well in a format he was always meant for, always an expert at - as a captain, as a batsman. He is near faultless and flawless. My father is a huge fan of this gentleman.

The push-ups and all these celebrations just go show how much he´s enjoying the game at the age of 42. His fitness, leadership, form with the bat, behaviour on and off the field is inspirational.

An excellent century today. He doesn´t have a great recording at lengthening his centuries, so I hope he will do a reverse on that habit here and help his team this morning to get to a good total, and I hope the rest of the team will back him up with similar performances, like Shafiq did so well yesterday. Their bowlers will be tested here I´m sure. Amir and co. will have observed the surface closely.

Hopefully another 10 push ups today and a double hundred! brilliant inns by a top class player!

Classy celebration by misbah. Imagine misbah making monkey faces and cussing after getting his first ton at Lords.

Great celebration, even at 42 he's fitter than most 20 year olds :))

When you are married and have a son & your son stands first in his class then do tell him: "Son, I am happy for you but this is a very long journey. These are early days so you better not be celebrating much."

Great celebration.. Moment of the day!!

It was in 2008 against India in the Asia Cup that was played in Pakistan. Nasir Jamshed had retired hurt and Younis was showing his fitness & stamina (and pointed to the trainer or something).

[PICTURES] Misbah-ul-Haq's 100 celebration

His celebration remained a point of discussion the whole day yesterday during the match. Even David Lloyd did some push-ups yesterday morning before Misbah and the latter clearly appreciated. The Sky Sports commentary team kept discussing it the whole day and they showed videos of some of the groundsmen and other staff members repeating the deed.

What a glorious summer that was, the sun shone, each match had a result, Pakistan were regarded as the better side throughout the test leg and the push ups went viral, golfers at the Ryder Cup were doing it. The peak of Misbah's Pakistan, after years of survival, of never playing at home, of having been the underdog too often, they came good.

What a brilliant gesture by Misbah - most enjoyable!

About his celebration initially, Misbah said that it was a promise to the army guys after their camp in Abbottabad. "We did a camp in Abbottabad before the skill camp in Lahore, and we used to do an honour code every time, we just stepped into the ground and did ten push-ups. And I promised them, if ever I score a hundred, I will definitely do that to remind you that we were there.”
