Bangladesh U16 bowled out for 292 on the opening day of second three-day match against Pakistan U16
Lahore, 6 May 2019:
Bangladesh U16 were bowled out for 292 runs in their first innings on the opening day of the second three-day match against Pakistan U16 in Khulna on Monday.
Pakistan captain Umer Eman won the toss and opted to field first. Bangladesh captain Rihad Khan scored 136 runs (120 balls 15 fours and five sixes) to lead his team to their total.
Mofizul Islam Robin scored 53 off 116 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. Maksudar Rahman scored 31 off 78 balls with three fours. Right-arm medium pace bowler Aseer Mughal was the most successful Pakistan bowler of the day, Aseer took four wickets in 15 overs conceding a mere 38 runs.
Left-arm spinner Ali Asfand took three wickets for 50 runs in 17.5 overs. Right-arm medium pace bowler Khalid Khan who took a five-for in the first innings of the first three-day match in Fatullah took two wickets for 48 runs.
In reply, Pakistan ended the first-day at 20 for two. Muhammad Shehzad (8) and Muhammad Waqas (9) were the two batsmen dismissed before stumps were drawn for the day.

Why it has to be always selection mess - it could be that these bunch are genuinely not that good or could be that genuinely U16
..... PAK's age level cricket record is facing a nose dive since ICC had started to tighten screw on age cheats in last 7-8 years. Imagine this - Ziaul Haq played 2010 U19 WC as a 15 years old baby (check his portrait at Wiki page - even if snapped yesterday, that face is of a 24 years old young man of high quality Punjabi/Pathan gin, For God's Sake), who could have been bowling to same BD kids in this series had his birth been bodily shifted by 9 years - thank God, BCB's medical bill would have increased !!!! Or it could be that these BD boys are some how really good ...... by some miracle, there is some talunt found suddenly, in a country where talunt bahoot kam hai. Or, it could be simply a bad tour for PAK U16 team - these are kids, not seasoned pro, there performance will fluctuate by every game. That PAK U16 batsman Shehzad (?), had a pair of hundreds in one of the practice games - he is a damn flop here, this can't be Selection fault. And, same team did beat AUS U16s as well. At U16 level, it's impossible to filter out top 15 boys from millions playing around, no matter how honest you are or how perfect your system is - do you think these are the best 15 U16 players in Bangladesh or 10 years down the line, all these 15 will be the best cricketers? There could be few odd picks or left-outs, but whoever is picked must be among top 25-35 U16 players from PAK for sure. Also, the batting display I have seen from PAK U19 in last WC or the display I see from a "different" Fakhar Zaman, I do think there is a fundamental gap in the understanding of batting concepts as a whole in every level, which is beyond the scope of selection. Instead of sweeping everything under selection carpet, start to give a fresh thought - something at core needs to be fixed first, then comes selection in good faith & without negligence.

Mostly agree!!!! But still if you don't give proper chances and help better players you will not see the result.
For example Fahim is rubbish as a bowler and batsman. We have at least 2 to 3 players better than him but no opportunities,same goes to Yasir, Imam....
Nepotism and favoritism are everywhere.

Pakistan U16 fight back after conceding first innings lead against Bangladesh U16
Lahore, 7 May 2019:
Pakistan U16 fought back by taking two early second innings wickets against Bangladesh U16 on day two of the second three-day match in Khulna on Tuesday.
Bangladesh finished day two at 29 for two (overall lead, 101 runs) after Pakistan opening bowler Aseer Mughal had accounted for both openers with only 11 runs on the board.
Earlier, resuming their first innings from the overnight score of 20 for two, Pakistan lost opener Sameer Saqib (19) with the total at 52. Sameer added 33 runs with Haseebullah (15) who also fell soon after.
Captain Umer Eman fought gallantly with a 117-ball 57 that included nine fours. Umer added 31 for the fifth wicket with Kashif Ali (22) and 52 for the sixth wicket with Aseer Mughal (22). Pakistan were bowled out for 220, conceding a 72-run first innings lead. All-rounder Ahmad Khan did not bat due to illness.
Mushfiq Hasan and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi took three wickets each for Bangladesh. Bangladesh have a 1-0 lead in the two match series, the hosts won the series opener in Fatullah by five wickets.

I think, BD kids have a good chance to clean sweep the series. Possible minimum 90 overs available today, and PAK U16 likely to be one batsman short. Play positively and put a target something like 220 for last 60 overs of the day, PAK U16 might collapse. They should have made these 4 day games or at least 105 overs/day game over 3 days.

The second three-day match between Bangladesh U16 and Pakistan U16 ended in a draw on Wednesday in Khulna. On the third and final day, Bangladesh resumed their second innings at the overnight score of 29 for two.
The hosts declared their second innings at 183 for eight in 58.3 overs (lead of 255 runs). Aich Mollah top-scored with 87 off 109 balls, his innings included nine fours and four sixes. Sakib Shahriar scored 32 off 64 balls with the help of five fours.
Aseer Mughal took three wickets for 29 runs in 12 overs while captain Umer Eman took three wickets for 34 in 9.3 overs. Set a 256-run target, Pakistan ended their second innings at 103 for three in 25 overs when the match was called off as the allocated time for the third-day and the match finished.
Opener Sameer Saqib scored 35 while Mohammad Waqas remained unbeaten on 29, Muhammad Shehzad scored 26 runs.
Bangladesh won the two-match series 1-0, courtesy their five wicket win in Fatullah last week.
Second three-day match, Khulna, match drawn.

Pak under 19 139 all out. There js a reason why our cricket is declining. From junior to senior level...nepotism....vested interests within the stake holders. On the other hand you have to admit BD has done extremely well to groom their grassroot level

Bangladesh U16 registered an 89-run win in the first 50-over match against Pakistan U16 at the Shiekh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Batting first after being put into bat, the hosts posted 228 runs in the allotted 50 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Pakistan bowlers had reduced Bangladesh to 109 for seven in the 29th over with Farhad Khan (four for 54 in 10 overs) and Aseer Mughal (three for 51 in 10 overs) doing most of the damage.
At this stage, Bangladesh innings was revived by an 89-run eight wicket stand between Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi (66 off 71 balls, seven fours, one six) and Azizul Haque Rony (35 not out off 64 balls, four fours), after Mahfuzur Rahman’s departure, Azizul Haque added 32 runs for the ninth wicket with Ashiqur Rahman (12) to guide his team past the 200-run mark.
Captain Umer Eman and opening bowler Ahmad Khan took one wicket each for Pakistan, providing valuable support to Farhad and Aseer.
In reply, Pakistan U16 were bowled out for 139 in 41.4 overs. Kashif Ali top-scored for the visitors with a stroke-filled 67-ball 64 that included nine fours and one six. Mohammad Waqas made 27 off 56 balls with the help of three fours while Aseer remained unbeaten on 19 runs.
Azizul Haque, Mahfuzur Rahman and Mushfiq Hasan took two wickets each for the hosts. The second 50-over match will be played on Monday, 13 May at the same venue.

Bangladesh U16 recorded a 17-run win in the second 50-over match against Pakistan U16 at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Monday to take a decisive 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Chasing a target of 260 runs, Pakistan U16 fell away after an impressive start, ending their 50 overs at 242 for nine.
Pakistan had reached 197 for four in the 43rd over when Kashif Ali (28) fell, after his dismissal, Pakistan lost four wickets in quick succession. The lower-order could not sustain the required run-rate as the visitors fell away towards the end of the innings.
Opener Sameer Saqib (55 off 87 balls, three fours) added 54 runs for the opening wicket with Haseebullah (25) and 71 for the second wicket with Mohammad Waqas (38 off 49 balls, four fours). Sameer fell in the 30th over, Pakistan lost Waqas soon after, however, the innings was revived by a 58-run fifth wicket partnership between captain Umer Eman who scored 34 off as many balls with the help of five fours and Kashif Ali scored 28 off 35 balls with four fours.
Pakistan though failed to sustain the momentum as Bangladesh bowlers led by Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi three for 50 and Ashiqur Rahman two for 39 made rapid inroads into the middle and lower-order.
Earlier, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh posted 259 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.

Whoever is your selector, the result will be same. You have to admit the fact that Pakistan cricket isn't producing those super talents anymore and Bangladesh has surpassed them
Basit Ali himself a suspicious character and he was known to favor certain players. Pakistan women team was crap under him and now with the new selectors Pakistan women almost won the S Africa ODI.
If the selector is dis-honest then it will be continues. Under Inzi we have rubbish players like Imam, Faheem (Who don't even good for Zimbabwe squad), Yasir (Not a ODI material under even Nepal team), Asif (hit/miss), Malik (Expired more than 4 years ago)...

I am not sure regarding Basit, but I think he was still at the position when the team was selected.
Some pretty decent talent coming through for BD as showed by the U19 team which played last WC. Just need some pacy young bowlers and everything is almost set for a pretty decent future. Qazi Onik looked decent if he can add in some yards.

I think, batting wasn't much of a crisis and there are good genuine spinners coming, but fast bowling will take time. It took India almost half a century, therefore I don't expect overnight jump, but there are good potentials in junior ranks.
Basit Ali is in charge for probably more than my PP age - in that period PAK has seen 3 Prime Ministers and PCB has seen 4-5 Chairmen in probably 256 different tenures. So, for sure the guy has solid contact and he is genuinely considered as a great scout. Just like Hafeez - guy is playing as MVP of PAK team, not only because of his contacts, but for his reputation as well ..... people watching live or playing with rates MoHa almost at per with Mazid Khan, therefore you can't argue. Same for Basit Ali .....

Yes, you are right about the senior team. Inzi dont pick squad (whether test or ODIs) on basis of domestic performances. Otherwise, Sami Aslam would have been in place Imam in ODIs, Amer yamin in place of Fahim , Fawad in place of Asad in tests,Zafar Gohor in place of Yasir in ODIs. Selection bias is there. But in age cricket I think BD has surpassed Pakistan. Recent under 16 tour is a proof.
In Age cricket Bangladesh was/is always better even against team like England, Australia, S Africa, NZ

Bangladesh has talent, the same degree as India. Just that they mature horribly and become mediocre by the day
Finally, a win for PAK kids & no wonder the MoM was a kid scoring 129, playing probably first time in this tour, so obviously it’s not all Basit Ali’s fault - he doesn’t select playing XI from his home.
It’s an alarming trend though - like the seniors, kids are playing “expressive” cricket after the series was lost. PAK U16 could & should have crossed 300, but still ended comfortable winners with the highest team & individual scores of LO leg.

Haseebullah’s century guides Pakistan U16 to victory in third 50-over match against Bangladesh U16
Wicketkeeper batsman Haseebullah scored a stroke filled 129 off 141 balls to guide Pakistan U16 to a 29-run win in the third and final 50-over match against Bangladesh U16 played at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Wednesday.
Bangladesh won the series 2-1, courtesy their wins in the first two matches by 89 and 17 runs respectively.
In the third and final match of the series, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first. Haseebullah laid the foundations of Pakistan’s victory with a 143-run opening wicket partnership with Sameer Saqib (64 off 84 balls, seven fours). Haseebullah’s innings included four sixes and 11 fours.
Haseebullah fell in the 45th over of the Pakistan innings, he added 46 for the second wicket with Muhammad Waqas (23) and 35 for the third wicket with captain Umer Eman (eight). The visitors ended their 50 overs at 279 for the loss of eight wickets.
Shamsul Islam Epon took five wickets for 45 runs while Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi took three for 44.
In reply, Bangladesh U16 were bowled out for 250 in 47.5 overs. Sakib Shahriar top-scored with 60 off 82 balls, his innings included six fours and one six. Mahfuzur Rahman scored 46 off 34 balls.
Pakistan opening bowlers Aseer Mughal and Farhad Khan took three wickets each. Ali Asfand, Umer, Aaliyan Mehmood and Kashif Ali took a wicket each.

Pakistan U16 trials for Bangladesh series from Wednesday

The National Junior Selection Committee has invited 37 players at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi for trials to select the Pakistan cricket team for the forthcoming home series against Bangladesh.
The trials will be held from 18 to 22 September in which the players will play four one-day practice matches with a rest day in between.
The invited players have been selected on the basis of their recent performances on international tours and domestic U16 regional tournaments.
Pakistan will host Bangladesh for a bilateral series in Lahore next month. The details of the schedule will be announced soon.
