This reminds me of when The Rock returned to WWE after 7 years, LaLa is going to take KK to the PSL final, great move this excellent stuff!

Expected, happy to see this.

Now expecting Malik to announce a move to the new franchise, possibly as captain, especially if it is Sialkot. I was wondering about his performance and complete disinterest for the past two seasons and it made sense after he confirmed that he was all set to be captain of Islamabad ahead of the first edition but then Karachi picked him after Zalmi took Afridi and he was visibly detached from the whole thing.
 
Hopefully Malik captains Islu now,

dho sher ek Ghar mein nahi reh sakte, both are the biggest super stars of pakistan
 
Afridi and Gayle possibly in the same team?Would've paid to see this 5 years ago.But now they are past their best.
 
Afridi star power and ARY's media power . There is going to nonstop promotion from ARY next season as if it wasn't enough already, but as a Karachite I can't complain.
 
good move, he will be a good addition to KK. I hope they change their management too, bring new coaches.
 
I think Misbah will not play in the PSL 3 and Malik will be leading Islamabad United. Expect a lot of chops and changes with the addition of an extra team.
 
Expected this, he should have been playing for Karachi all along.
 
So does that mean Malik to Qalandars? Lahore has been lacking a first tier Pakistani T20 superstar since season 1st.
 
As President of Karachi Kings? Will he also play or he is in the team management?
 
As expected; it was an open secret. There was another chance of leading the 6th Franchise, but I think it's easier to lead the richest Franchise than building the new kid in the ring.
 
No surprise at all. It was an open secret that Afridi was going to sign for Karachi.

Bit of a sour taste though in the way he left Peshawar.
 
This means one of Gayle or Malik are heading out.

Only 3 players allowed in the platinum cat. and Afridi will be one next season, whilst Pollard will be retained (at least I think so).
 
Hopefully he can convince our foreign players to come to Pakistan for the final like he did with the Peshawar players. That is the single biggest benefit he brings.

Shahid Afridi moves from Peshawar Zalmi to Karachi Kings

Lahore- October 3, 2017: The biggest trade of the HBL Pakistan Super League was finalised today confirming Boom Boom Shahid Afridi's move from Peshawar Zalmi to Karachi Kings. Afridi played a pivotal role in Zalmi's victorious campaign last season before missing the final because of injury. The former Pakistan skipper will now represent Karachi Kings in the HBL Pakistan Super League. As part of the trade, Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings will be swapping picks in the Gold and Silver categories of the Player Draft.

Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi thanked Shahid Afridi for his efforts. "Shahid is a world-class player and the entire Peshawar Zalmi family thanks him for his contributions to our team," said Javed Afridi. "He is like a brother and We wish him the very best of luck in this new journey.

" Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal expressed his delight that the trade was finalised. "Shahid Afridi is the biggest name in Pakistan cricket and we are extremely pleased to have him on board," said Iqbal. "Afridi brings a wealth of experience and a never-say-die attitude to our dressing room," added the Karachi Kings owner.

Too many theories about the fall out b/w Shahid and Javed Afridi from Afridi being unhappy over Javed Afridi hogging the lime light in Peshawar Zalmi and cashing in on Afridi's image, connections, popularity, being unhappy over Javed's political allegiances, about Afridi wanting to disassociate Javed Afridi from the Shahid Afridi Foundation and Javed Afridi focusing more and more on business interests e.t.c.

Truth will never be known. Something serious must have happened for Shahid Afridi to stop following Javed Afridi on twitter and even worse given that they are distantly related.

apparently they arent related. its just afridi tribesmanship but till their paths crossed due to cricket they didnt even know each other

Afridi in an interview mentioned something along the lines of both their families knew each other very well, maybe it is more friendship than a close or distant blood relationship

How? It's T20 - whoever pays high..... for whatever! Besides, it's not like he has left PSL for another non PAK league.

Karachi is his home town - has lost many finals while leading them, now he is coming back again.

It's a hit or miss line up. These players are capable of taking the team past 200 or flopping for 100 all out.

Afridi could be the magic ingredient for KK to finally gain some respect in this tournament , so far they have been poor.

Afridi is a rich guy, not sure how much KK are paying him but it wont be a life changing amount.

Of course its the city he lived in but was his born in Karachi or near Peshawar? Steven Gerrard didn't move for money, he started and finished his career for his home team. :)
 
Afridi-Malik in the same team will be a recipe for disaster, just like the Wasim-Waqar problem.

I think it started when Darren Sammy became captain. Also it seems Afridi didn't like Sammy becoming the most popular guy in Zalmi

I am sorry for your taste buddy - that's football, it's T20. Remember, there are different types of movies made for different entertainment ........ not every movie competes for Oscar.
 
Isn't Karachi gonna have too many platinum players next season? What the limit for platinum players in the squad?

LQ has Umar Akmal and he is the PSL1 top scorer also if you combine both PSL 1 and 2. But agree Lahore needs a stable batsman who could anchor the innings. UA is a genuine hitter only.

Just read this elsewhere.

Would be surprised if KK released both Sohail and Amir, especially given Sohail was the top wicket taker in PSL 2.
 
Suhail Khan is old now so does the Suhail Tanveer, LQ can't afford to put too many aged players. Rizwan is still doing fine in LQ so i don't see any reason why they would trade him.

Mickey Arthur probably don't like Sohail Khan. I don't think they will release Amir.

But they need to add at least one more decent pacer in their line up. The experience of Irfan Jr was a really bad.

Agree. Aamir Yamin wasnt too bad last time so he should persist. Irfan jr should be replaced by a new Emerging player.

Also its confirm now that Suhail Khan has joined LQ (got traded with Rizwan), but in 10 players retained so far by LQ I don't see Suhail Tanveer in there.
