[PICTURES/VIDEOS] David Warner bats right-handed in BPL, smashes Chris Gayle for 6, 4, 4

I think we are going to see more of this in the future. Warner uses his right for golf so its not too different changing and blasting one straight. But tbf it looked like Gayle didn't really care.

Didn't know he was ambidextrous. Second shot was so Afridi like with that lofted sweep :afridi1.

Dare I say he bats better right handed than some of our right hand batsmen:uak

Not dunking on bpl, but in the basis of performance in this league we want to rush junaid khan back to the national team?

Warner is a riddicoulous talanted player. It's a shame during and probably after his career we will be talking more about his pathetic antics rather than his ability as a batsmen.

He started off as a righty, and changed sometime into playing fulltime lefty... M Hussy did similar but at a very very young age unless like warner...

I’m surprised no one noticed that stupid dance he did towards the bowler. His personality is very cringeworthy but he is definetly talented.

Major blow as David Warner injures elbow playing in Bangladesh Premier League

David Warner will return to Australia and undergo elbow surgery after suffering an injury in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The injury is understood to have been suffered as Warner clubbed an unbeaten 61 off 36 balls for Sylhet Sixers against Chris Gayle’s Rangpur Raiders.

In the same innings Warner repeatedly switch hit, smashing 14 runs off three Chris Gayle balls while batting right-handed.

Fox sports.com.au can reveal Warner will arrive home shortly before undergoing a clean out on his elbow in the coming days.

The Sylhet Sixers are yet to confirm the severity of the injury but CA has revealed he will return to Australia on Monday to be assessed.

“David has reported some pain in his right elbow. He will return to Australia on Monday 21 January to be assessed, but is expected to play in remaining BPL matches until his return,” a CA spokesperson said.

“We will have a clearer understanding of the extent of the injury once he has been assessed.”

The injury is expected to keep him out of action for up to a month, meaning he should be fit for a potential return at the 2019 World Cup.

It will however, rob him of much-needed cricket in the lead up to the tournament as he nears a return to international cricket following his year-long ban over the ball tampering scandal.

It comes just five days after suspended former Australian captain Steve Smith was forced out of the BPL with a similar injury. Smith has returned home to Australia and has undergone surgery on his elbow. He will be in a brace for six weeks as he recovers from surgery.

The injuries could severely hamper both players preparations with the World World Cup and Ashes on the horizon.

Australia’s first match of the World Cup is on June 1 against Afghanistan.

The ban on Warner and Smith is due to end on March 29.

He was right hander at first when he started playing cricket. His coach advised him to start batting as lefthander.

think changing his hand could have caused the problem!

Why on earth is Gayle bowling? Let alone bowl the 19th over? Is this a joke or is the standard of this tournament so low?

It was announced at the time that he would play 1-2 more games before going back.

As he is still playing T20Is for Australia and T20 leagues, we have a chance to see more of his switch shots. David Warner is a true entertainer on and off the field.
