Ifti is in this situation as every time he is given a chance up the order he fails. He has absolute terrible stats at anything above 7. 7 is this best guys position. He is a professional tailender. He doesn't finish matches. But he can go out late at 7 in the innings and whack a few. He complicates it too much when he is up the order and needs to forge an innings which he can't do. His part time bowling is handy too.

It is probably time to move on from this guy. But I think we didn't make use of this guy fully because we always hoped he would carry the line up as a proper batsman like he does in domestic. But he can not do this in internationals, and he can't even do that in PSL. And again as a finisher, he isn't good. He was never going to be a great proper batsman like that. But he could have been a very good professional tailender, there is actual some merit. While he does get hate quite frankly he has outperformed nearly everyone we've tried down the order at 7.

He had plenty of opportunities with more than 2 overs, sometimes 10 overs to spare. He had the perfect opportunity in the 2022 final to play himself in and make some runs. What did he do? Oh yea, he played out a maiden and then got out.

I think the word he was looking for is Finisher, not tailender. However, when you lie about your age, that role becomes quite difficult since hand/eye coordination is required alot as a finisher if you're not a top batsmen Like Virat and Co. So technically he isn't wrong i guess lol

Some players are good or even legendary for domestics or domestic leagues but they don’t have that “little extra” to make it to the next level (internationals). Ifti doesn’t have that factor but is not a bad cricketer by any benchmark.

Those are the top 5. Not my criteria because it's a dumb one at such a stage in the tournament but we will run with your criteria since you said it. You said it now you can stand by your idiocy without running away or shifting the goalposts.

Which of these top 5 have you backed?

You make fun of Babar and Iftikhar, you wrote off Abdul in the match thread and wrote off Usman before the young lad had even batted for Pakistan.

Here I am supporting our players and all you can do is cast aspersions on patriotic posters and take shots at cricketers day and night.

He amounted to nothing since his debut, Collapsed the team and flunked it in 2020 especially his gand againat Zimbabwe. Then in 2022 he futher caused humiliation and problems, Ruined asia cup 2022 final with the bat, Ruined wc 2022 final with the ball, Then amounted to nothing in 2023 beyond Nepal and NZ c string bashing, Wasted all of 2023, Wasted all of 2024 and has been nothing but a bottling waste.

How on earth do you miss 3 full tosses against India? How do you get out on a full toss bowled by neesham? How do you get out on a full toss by an Oracle employee? How do you botch 2 finals and 2 super overs in your cricket lifetime?
 
I wish more of the world took notice of Ifti. Can some franchises please snap him up so he can make a nice living and get lost from the national team.

He’s only a domestic champi,... I don’t think he’s going to make it to the international team again.

@FearlessRoar bhai, this guy is useless. He went from Finisher of Pakistan to tailender. Next thing he wants to be a wicket keeper or maybe umpire. When something doesn’t go his way he picks up another position. This has to be stopped. He will perform one day with the ball next day he will get smash for sixes! This guy has to go and we have let to Eithrr Samad or Salman Ali Agha replace this Chacha. Who cost us the World Cup (while getting 2 chances to bat) . We should just over hyping this player who is not worthy to be a international player

This guy is pathetic! Even if he performs tomorrow or win the final or even score 200 off 50 balls .. this guy shouldn’t be trusted. Giving him captaincy .. ow he will be after captaincy in international
 
For all of Ifti s sarcasm his time in the national side is up with the cycle moving forward.

The likes of Jahandad , Abdul samad, Mubasir , Qasim akram and Ammad butt offer more in the shorter formats.

In Jahandad s case he can open the bowling with the new ball as an added bonus and strike big at the end.
