The assembly elections in Delhi will take place in a single phase on February 5 and the votes will be counted on February 8., the Election Commission announced today. The schedule for polls to the Delhi Legislative Assembly was released at a press conference by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and other senior poll officials.

The term of the 70-member Assembly ends on February 23, and elections have to be held before that to constitute a new House. The national capital has traditionally seen assembly polls in a single phase.

Looks like people of Delhi have lost their faith on Kejriwal. Maybe the corruption allegations on AAP did their work in Delhi.

Lol at educated CM...hahaha. Ek number ka nautanki baaj is Kejriwal. From will never form political party during Anna movement to joining hands with congress to never want govt quarters to building sheeshmahal...everything is fraud about this guy.

It is necessary to enter politics to change the country. If educated person are boycotting the politics than 10th failed people will become CM or PM of india.

We deserved this humiliation in international community if we can't select honest and educated person as CM or PM .

Kejriwal and Atishi both are trailing from their seats. Though the margin is very minimal.
 
These are very early trends...some of the seats are very close. So the election can still go either way.

Honestly I don't care about politics or favourite party instead india.

But something is not good in indian democracy When people's are choosing the wrong leader's.

Congress is nothing better than BJP but Kejriwal is way above both of party .

I pray for God to save india from these andhabhakt who votes just blindly without looking the reality .

My understanding of Indian politics now is BJP voters took the last general election casually and presumed Modi will cross 400 mark. As a result many didn't come out to vote and took holidays etc. The opposition voters came en masse and voted as a block. It was a narrow escape for BJP & Modi and India is sitting as a coalition govt.

The BJP voters have learned their lesson now and coming more & more in number to vote. That is why they are on a roll winning in Haryana, Maharashtra and now most probability in Delhi.

Congress vote share has increased by 50% ( 4% to 6%) , credit should go to the immense leadership of the Gandhi family.
Congress spokespeople are already claiming it as a moral win✌️ .
Had Congress and AAP actually collaborated it could have been a tighter election. But too much ego in the opposition parties and Bjp just enjoying it.
 
What a splendid victory by BJP in Delhi after Haryana and Maharashtra

India is marching towards a Hindu Rashtra and will become major global power

Biggest problem will be for Bangladeshi and Rohingyas who were settled by AAP and were helped by Amanatullah Khan.

Many so called "Indians" will now be unmasked as who they really are.

Nopes. Not at all. AAP and Kejriwal are corrupt to the core. They even hobnob with Khalistanis. Parmatma ki aseem krupa se he is gone.

BJP can only be beaten by another nationalist party. This left liberal parties who do minority appeasement and are run by families won't cut it anymore in India.
 
All big leaders of AAP list terhe Delhi election including Kejriwal…. Aatishi wins her seat and she celebrated her victory in grand way. She was dancing whole night despite all AAP leaders lost the election. She already dumped Kejriwal
 
The good thing for the people is Delhi BJP has to work at ground level in Delhi and do development otherwise they would lose to AAP in next elections. So people in Delhi would most likely see decent development and have their lives improve a bit.

However, if Delhi BJP turns out to be besharam and only work on filling their own coffers then AAP will return next time around and will have to work for the people.

Either ways will be a win for people of Delhi, this result is one of the best result for Delhiites.

Lol, this was totally expected. Sanghis know only to exploit their voters and then forget them for next 5 years. Before for votes at the time of elections, get elected and 5 years of total misrule for the voters. Rinse and repeat.

Only some really thick and shameless people vote for them who only care for Hindu - Muslim card played by feku before every elections.
 
However, the foul mouthed Rekha Gupta has got her priorities right, visiting Dwarka (Gujarat) and organizing events in Delhi, something which she learnt from her master, the event manager.

People of Delhi have seen developments in some aspect during AAP tenure, if BJP can’t replicate that or fall short of the promises, they are likely to be thrown off next time around.

The only way BJP will come back to power next time if they don’t do any work during this tenure is by killing democracy and that is highly unlikely to happen in national capital.

The problem literally absent spinless opposition. As long as Opposition can't have a consistent message Modi will continue to rule. Rahul Gandhi needs to retire and Congress needs to reform its image out of Nehru family dominion. Weak opposition is always bad for a country.

Opposition is getting weaker and weaker. Did you see the infighting in TMC? Kalyan Banerjee (MP) called Mahua Moitra (MP) dramebaaz opportunist lady who only questions Adani on behalf of another businessman for her personal gains. This is after Mahua Moitra wanted to get him arrested. The same Kalyan Banerjee also accused Saugata Roy (MP) as chor in Narada scam.

Imagine this kind of disjointed operation. This is after Mamata didi got booed in her Oxford speech last month.

Honestly, thats true for most of the public right now. BJP's core base will keep it sustained at 150+ seats no matter what it does. The extra 100 sets BJP manages is the confluence of Modi's popularity and perceived decisiveness compared to complete lack of focus by the opposition parties. Another 30-40 are bonus thanks to Pappu remaining in the politics.
Modi has found a fine balance of handing power to the business houses while still finding support among the poor class. No body gives a crap about the middle class anyways. Their major stumble in the 2024 elections was not respecting the coalition maths and ignoring the impact of caste. 2024 was the best chance Opposition got and still it was nowhere close. After that BJP has been basically just gaining strength.

I believe in 2024 they were rocked by the "Reservations will be gone" scare, primarily in UP.

In other words, the opposition got votes for the wrong reasons. Reservations should indeed be gone.

Right or wrong, BJP ignored the electoral maths. No way there were going to replicate 2014 in UP. and the overconfidence cost them even more.
Reservation will dissipate in its own time and actually the movement has begun from little Supreme Court judgements in the last few months. Thankfully, no one has grasped and raised the hue and cry in a big way. :D
Reservation is still needed in India, but its form has to be refined to actual benefit those who need and deserve it.

There was an SC judgement on creating further sub-categorization within the SC quotas to address the disparity between some extra privileged SCs who are just enjoying the luxury of reservation while some SC communities who are actually not even able to avail the benefits of reservation.


There was an initial random protest based on regular rumor mongering but later on the actual backward groups within SCs realized, "Wait a minute, we are not getting any benefit at all?" The protests died out. and Since its a political bomb, no one really pushed for or against it. BJP has kept it relatively quiet and not let it float as a big judicial win. Opposition parties couldnt really push against it. Even the wire writers of JNU found it hard to spin a solid argument against the judgement :P
