[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Is Shaheen Shah Afridi trying to become an all-rounder due to the loss of pace from his injury?

Most encouraging thing about 1st t20 was Afridi’s pace. He bowled up in the 140s after a long time. I felt his run up and action was much stronger than it has been in a long time.
yeah ran in fast

It's t20. You can bowl 6 balls at that pace. Improvement will come when we see him bowl the same pace in ODIs and Tests

Criteria to become an all roumder in Pakistan is quite simple.. just slog few closed eye hits and if it connects then u wil be considered as an all rounder.

Shaheen Afridi thrown his wicket without scoring any run against South Africa... dont know who consider him an all rounder when he cant block a single delivery.

He’s got one shot, an ugly slog sweep towards deep mid wicket. No game awareness, no intentions of taking singles or two’s. Pakistan could be 9 down with 1 to win of 50 balls and Shaheen will look to play the same shot.

He’ll be coming in at 4-5 in the PSL, and if any Pakistani national team bowler gets taking to the cleaners against him then drop him from the national team.

Hesitant to call it a cameo but good striking from Shaheen in the 2nd ODI against South Africa.

and here we have an over confident all rounder who cant bat or ball but can take a review on plumb LBW in no time lol

From nowhere Shaheen can be called as all-rounder. He can't defend straight delivery from spinner and he took a review immediately on plumb LBW like his FIL. He can't bowl effectively which is his primary role forget about his batting.

His all rounder version is the only hope for Lahore Qalandars now at their home Gaddafi Stadium in PSL X against Peshawar Zalmi.

He's becoming all-round rubbish. Can't bat and now barely even average with the ball.

He should try becoming batter actually because he is bad at both things atm so why not leave bowling where he is getting injured and just do batting....lol

@Major His pace was up if you kept an eye on it for T20’s but not what it use to be, then compare it to other formats when he puts less effort, but his low bowling IQ is shocking; he use to have some variation & ability to swing the new ball, but that’s pretty much gone and he hasn’t spent time to work on that or maintain what he use to have. He’s a million times worse than Mohammad Sami these days.

Typical story of a Pakistani bowler, plays for a good 7-8 years but has still not developed a bowling iq, ability to assess the pitch, conditions, match situation or bowler. In comparison an Indian bowler playing his 4th-5th game shows much better discipline with the ball and even greater intelligence on where to bowl with regards to the opposition batsman, pitch and match situation even if he is limited in skill, talent.

The only thing Shaheen knows is to pitch the ball up operating on hope that it swings when the evidence is there that there is no swing on offer and the opposition is going after him ruthlessly.

Recently, Shaheen has been in tremendous form with the bat. He has started translating his PSL batting performance to the international stage. However, he has been batting too low in the order and Pakistan has been unable to fully utilize his batting prowess. Would it be fair to promote him to the opening spot? He could make the most of the power play.

Bas kar de Bhai :klopp :kp

Seriously guys lol Not just cricketers fans are also becomign poor judge of who is good who is not good. I understand Rauf and Shaheen have out played Pak batters in 3 innings in the last 5 or 6 outings. But that won't make them specialists.

SHaheen has beaten his personal record most runs in one over in a T20 international 18 runs. Previous record was 16 runs which happened against India.

In the current lot nobody besides Fakhar has a 20 run over in their career.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has been sent ahead of Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf on a tricky pitch in Dubai against Bangladesh in a must win super four clash of Asia Cup 2025...So is it a bold move or dump decision?
