understandable from his POV.. he's not a permanent member odi team mainly due to he's not reliable with the bat.. Here he got some time to spend and score a fifty after a long time so he can celebrate, cos he has a serious chance to get a place in the xi.. he mainly selected for this wc as a (sub) specialist fielder..

He has to hold up that tradition now since it has gotten popular.Crowd started getting louder even before he started the celebration as they wanted to see it.Besides I don't think he's getting many chances this WC unless Kuldeep remains ineffective and his form slump continues so might as well enjoy whatever time he gets in middle even if its a warmup match

Cricket needs characters, and kids love these celebrations. So do i, jadejas sword celebration, hasan alis celebration, shahid afridis star celebration etc. Brings an added colour to the game.

U are wrong jadeja will start india is well aware of having a strong tail on these flat wickets that would be the difference between winning and losing. Jadeja bowled more economically than kuldeep. Also kuldeep is extremely easy to play when you don’t play him across the line you can milk him. Jadejas bowling is simple but when one can grip and take out the off stump you never know. Looking at the flat wickets jadeja will start.

Hassan Ali dropped the ball mid celebration, the batsmen queried whether he had full control of the ball abd if the catch was legal. i seem to recall it was given out. Think it was a tour match before the england series or a warm up for the world cup.

This celebration isn't something I'm a fan of but I feel for Haris Rauf for getting flocked for it when it somewhat became a standard celebrations for the likes of Wahab Riaz who seems to have invented and got away with it clearly and Haris Rauf only got inspired from it just like his teammate from Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Afridi, got inspired by Wahab as well.

Saj, stopping him is not a good thing at all. He is a naturally aggressive bowler. Something we have missed for so long. His celebrations are natural as he is pumped up. Mark my words, we will turn him into another timid player like the rest of the bowlers by continously suppressing him down.
What is even wrong with him celebrating and letting it out? He is not abusing the batsman.
The celebration is him pretending to slit his throat. No way is that acceptable in my opinion.

That’s what I was saying. I remember one SL bowler doing that once against Pakistan and I wasn’t offended, he rolled his eyes back making it look like the Undertaker. It’s a pretty poor and petty thing to be going after someone’s celebration style as oppose to focussing on their skill, something the pakistan bowlers lacked in Australia.
Yes, tell him to calm it. Scream, put your arms in the air, punch the air and if someone is taking offence at some of your actions then stop.
Shaheen looks quite a bit different than Wahab and Rauf. Lot less graphics, I don’t even think he’s doing the throat slit there.
Wahab and Rauf look like uncultured fools.

Very right but footballers do this often so guess as long as your confident about your gymnastic skills.
All I can say is that I cannot imagine any of our desi cricketers doing this and NOT getting injured.

Agreed. That’s why the two best celebrations were from two of the most exciting/ marketable/ superstar fast bowlers to ever play the game - Shoaib Akhtar’s iconic plane and Brett Lee’s furious chainsaw / fist pumping.
