So with his team precariously placed on 169/8, our friend does a sword dance ....

There is a time and a place - your team hanging on by a thread is NOT that time!

Sarfaraz' celebration hundred against the mighty Ireland was poetry.

This celebration when well there should really have been no cause for celebration....

Atleast it was a WC 2015 game not a warm up.
Jadeja playing in a warmup game thts why we can give him some space if he do same celbrations in normal match if team is in that worst position he will definitely have face some heat from fans

understandable from his POV.. he's not a permanent member odi team mainly due to he's not reliable with the bat.. Here he got some time to spend and score a fifty after a long time so he can celebrate, cos he has a serious chance to get a place in the xi.. he mainly selected for this wc as a (sub) specialist fielder..

He has to hold up that tradition now since it has gotten popular.Crowd started getting louder even before he started the celebration as they wanted to see it.Besides I don't think he's getting many chances this WC unless Kuldeep remains ineffective and his form slump continues so might as well enjoy whatever time he gets in middle even if its a warmup match

Some of these modern-day celebrations make me cringe.

I much prefer the point the batsman to the pavilion send-off that bowlers used to give.

It's a pointless warm up game, who cares. Probably just a bit of fun. Wouldn't expect someone to celebrate like this in a proper match.

Cricket needs characters, and kids love these celebrations. So do i, jadejas sword celebration, hasan alis celebration, shahid afridis star celebration etc. Brings an added colour to the game.

The most embarrassing celebration is the Bangladeshi snake dance. I hate it:facepalm:

That is the best send-off. Isn't it banned now? Sending a player off?

Hasan Ali's celebration is cringe worthy...
Come on guys lighten up, compared to footballer's goal celebrations, cricketers celebrations are mild. I remember one footballer dropped his shorts after scoring a goal - now thats cringe worthy!

Soccer is totally different.

U are wrong jadeja will start india is well aware of having a strong tail on these flat wickets that would be the difference between winning and losing. Jadeja bowled more economically than kuldeep. Also kuldeep is extremely easy to play when you don’t play him across the line you can milk him. Jadejas bowling is simple but when one can grip and take out the off stump you never know. Looking at the flat wickets jadeja will start.

That's the problem.

A few words or pointing a batsman to the pavilion and you will soon be hauled into the match referee's room.

Jadeja has the best personality of a cricketer for a few years now lmao. That talwaar bazi he showed up with 3 years ago in the Eng-Ind 2016 test series. The English commies couldn’t stop laughing.

His reactions in IPL are also hilarious.

Great guy. Would grab a chai with him.

Kuldeep and Chahal literally toyed with SA batters in the Ind vs SA series. No way India gonna break that Kulcha combination.
India may decide to strengthen the tail but it could come at the cost of conceding 300+ score

Thats not acceptable anymore and correctly so as the batsman has no right of response

As a batsman its infuriating to be told where to go after suffering the disappointment of losing your wicket

Its rightly been banned

Sheldon Cottrell wicket-taking celebration from Green Man on Vimeo.

West Indies won the toss and elected to field first against Australia and the fast-bowlers vindicated the decision of their captain as they rocked the Australian top order with four quick wickets. Oshane Thomas got the ball rolling with the wicket of Aaron Finch. Sheldon Cottrell then got the wicket of David Warner as he was caught at point. Andre Russell accounted for Usman Khawaja and then Cottrell was in the act with the wicket of Glenn Maxwell.

There is the Calypso flavour to this West Indies team and there is flair and joy in watching the fast bowlers run up and intimidate the batsmen. Sheldon Cottrell has caught the eye of everyone with his unique celebration as he marches down the pitch and offers a salute towards the dressing room after each of his wickets.

“It’s a military-style salute. I’m a soldier by profession. Me saluting is just to show my respect to the Jamaica Defence Force,” he told the BBC earlier this year.

“I do it every time I get a wicket. I practised it for six months when I was training in the army,” he further added.

After dominating Pakistan in their first match, West Indies started off in great fashion against the defending champions.

“We want to continue to play some good cricket. I think it is going to be a good surface. We just have to be aggressive,” captain Jason Holder said at the toss.

Afridi's starman celebration will always remain the classiest celebration in cricket tbh.

What was this all about?

What was this all about?

Hassan Ali dropped the ball mid celebration, the batsmen queried whether he had full control of the ball abd if the catch was legal. i seem to recall it was given out. Think it was a tour match before the england series or a warm up for the world cup.

We live for celebrations.

We play hard and we party harder.

So go out there and aaaag laga do!

Cuz baby you are a firework! :imran

Thank you. I was actually thinking the batsman was complaining about Hasan Ali's generator celebration, which I have to say is excessive and cringey for a tour match.

Amazing celebration. Unfortunately doesn't have the talent to back it.

Not seen anything like this in cricket!

This is Afghanistan's Qais Ahmed in BBL yesterday

A bit strange from Haris - rather he didn't do it.

He won't be doing it again. Qalandars have told him to stop.
Saj did Qalandars told Shaheen Afridi to stop doing it? Did anyone from Peshawar Zalmi and/or PSL management told Wahab Riaz to stop it?

This celebration isn't something I'm a fan of but I feel for Haris Rauf for getting flocked for it when it somewhat became a standard celebrations for the likes of Wahab Riaz who seems to have invented and got away with it clearly and Haris Rauf only got inspired from it just like his teammate from Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Afridi, got inspired by Wahab as well.

I can't comment on Wahab or Shaheen, what I do know is that Qalandars have told Haris not to do the celebration any more.

Saj, stopping him is not a good thing at all. He is a naturally aggressive bowler. Something we have missed for so long. His celebrations are natural as he is pumped up. Mark my words, we will turn him into another timid player like the rest of the bowlers by continously suppressing him down.

What is even wrong with him celebrating and letting it out? He is not abusing the batsman.

The celebration is him pretending to slit his throat. No way is that acceptable in my opinion.

shaz619 Rauf doing an undertaker eh..

shaz619 Rauf doing an undertaker eh..

That’s what I was saying. I remember one SL bowler doing that once against Pakistan and I wasn’t offended, he rolled his eyes back making it look like the Undertaker. It’s a pretty poor and petty thing to be going after someone’s celebration style as oppose to focussing on their skill, something the pakistan bowlers lacked in Australia.

Yes, tell him to calm it. Scream, put your arms in the air, punch the air and if someone is taking offence at some of your actions then stop.

Shaheen looks quite a bit different than Wahab and Rauf. Lot less graphics, I don’t even think he’s doing the throat slit there.

Wahab and Rauf look like uncultured fools.

This is risky. He can injure himself.

Very right but footballers do this often so guess as long as your confident about your gymnastic skills.

All I can say is that I cannot imagine any of our desi cricketers doing this and NOT getting injured.

Of all the celebrations the worst has to be Hasan Ali. It is so cringe and atrocious.

Bit of a copycat but ...

Bangladesh Ebadot Hossain (C) celebrates the wicket of New Zealand's Will Young (R) during day four of the first cricket Test match between New Zealand and Bangladesh at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Tuesday

elaborate celebrations are cringe, especially if it looks like uve been thinking abt doing it. the best celebrations appear either spontaneous or nonchalant.

unfortunately it appears like pakistan bowlers seem to want their own cringe celebrations, even shaheen, for as great a bowler as he is, looks silly when he does the star man after dismissing a number 11. the less said abt hassan ali the better.

Agreed. That’s why the two best celebrations were from two of the most exciting/ marketable/ superstar fast bowlers to ever play the game - Shoaib Akhtar’s iconic plane and Brett Lee’s furious chainsaw / fist pumping.

He was in Bangladeshi Air Force. So, he has that military vibe.
