Lol at Karachi batting line up full of old and useless youngsters. What is Taha, khurram, danish, Saud, sohial etc doing in a t20 game.

Seems like a Duke, it's swinging like a banana. But according to the PCB website:

"As the domestic cricket season is set to commence next month, the PCB has announced that Duke balls will be used for all seniors red-ball domestic events. For the domestic 50-over and T20 competitions, the PCB will continue to use Kookaburra cricket balls, maintaining consistency with international standards, as all white-ball cricket worldwide, including ICC events, is played with Kookaburra balls."

Peshawar and FATA are being captained by 50 years old. This tournament allows senior citizens to showcase their skills.

And I will criticize them too. Not sure why a big deal is made out of the fact that rubbish players are being played. I guess you are happy seeing 45 year olds in Sohail Khan and khurram manzoor.

Yes as they are playing the way T20 format should be played.

He made up for it and ended up at 29 (17). His innings ensured his side make full use of PP. That's how T20 should be played.

He kept it tight today (1-20 from 4 overs), especially after he gave away 9 in his first over. He also bowled a lot to Shan and Saud. So he kept it tight even though he bowled to to 2 "better batters"

Shan was dropped from his bowling, and then the next ball got him out (although Shan should not have been given out. He edged it but was given LBW)

Salman Butt praised Arsal a lot too. Was impressed by his high-arm action.

He didn't really get much turn though, for the post part he seem to dart it in. At the age of 28, he has a meh domestic record.

Yep definitely as quick as them and good accuracy and some out swing as well.

Fast bowling talent is not dried up compare to batting talent , however we are not getting those 150k pacers with super stamina , but we are still getting dozens of 135-140k fast medium pacers who can move the ball around.

So these are all 135-140 kph bowlers. I thought they were more in the 140-145 bracket?

tbh, i like the idea of 1-2 older players in the sides, just because they can guide some of the younger folks. But more than 1-2 legacy players, and it's an issue because we should be giving more chances to the younglings.

Same problems

Rubbish approach in middle overs.

Saud was looking for singles in the 15th-18th over. Don’t think he attempted a single lofted shot in his innings

He was much better than this in the PSL with Quetta as opener.

I don’t understand these guys. They know that they are playing crap cricket and still they are not giving hell for leather.

Karachi IMO produces the best white ball batters in the country. They should be setting the standards of how to bat!
 
They really need to change the points system

Maximum 5 points can be attained,

Team getting 220+ to get 3 points in a win

Team getting 250+ to get 5 points in a win

I have no issues with that but you can't be having 45 years olds.

They are having a domestic match past midnight. Such passion can't be found anywhere else.
 
The quality of cricket on display is unwatchable. Waste of time and money this tournament
 
Bahawalpur play with some guts and get 95 in 7 overs

Pretty sure they would have done better than a team lead by Rizwan against NZ, and not score 20-2

So the ability is there, you can do it if you actually go for it! A low resource team like Bahawalpur could pull it off, what’s stopping Pakistan to go gung ho with this approach?
 
I think hitting technique of Pakistan players are poor. Nowadays range hitting has gone to a new level. These guys are out of position. Feet tangled, awkward backlift and downswing. This Khurram dude looks very ungainly. Does Pakistan practice range hitting? I mean long sixes. well over 100 meter six.
 
This is National t20 Cup, pathetic even domestic tournament in Namibia can give them a run for money.

More like going through motion it is
 
Saud Shakeel leads Karachi Whites to victory as National T20 Cup kicks off

National T20 Cup 2024-25 began at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, with Karachi Region Whites and Bahawalpur Region securing victories on the opening day.

Karachi Region Whites vs Islamabad Region Captain Saud Shakeel spearheaded Karachi Whites to a 30-run win in the rain-affected opening match. Karachi Whites opted to bat first, posting 159-6 in 20 overs. Saud, the player of the match, led the charge with a stunning 76 off 50 balls, including nine fours and a six, while Khurram Manzoor contributed 29 off 17 balls.

In response, Islamabad struggled at 27-4 and reached 73-5 before rain interrupted play in the 14th over. Muhammad Umar took 2-9, with Danish Aziz, Arif Yaqoob, and Saqib Khan claiming one wicket each. For Islamabad, Naseerullah Khan and Musa Khan grabbed two wickets apiece.

Bahawalpur Region vs Dera Murad Jamali Region Bahawalpur Region recorded a commanding 61-run victory over Dera Murad Jamali Region in a seven-over-a-side Group B match. Batting first, Bahawalpur amassed 95-3, with Aun Shahzad scoring 28 off 16 balls and Muhammad Sudais contributing 21 not out. Skipper Muhammad Imran and Faizan Zafar added quick runs at the end.

In reply, DM Jamali managed just 34-6, as Imran Khan Snr and Salahuddin took two wickets each. Muhammad Shahid claimed 3-11 for DM Jamali, but their efforts couldn’t turn the game around.
