[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Sajid Khan - International performance watch

Only watched a few overs. The wicket was as dead as dead can be.

Lets see how he bowls in the 2nd innings.

Honestly Muhammad Hafeez is a better spinner than this lad.

You got to listen to Bewal Express on spinners, he knows a lot about spinners

Let's hope I am wrong and maybe when the ball spins, he will look better.

He looks awful to be completely honest. He also seems to have a lack off control too. If I remember he was going nearly 4 runs an over in domestics too.

Awful bowler awful action if this guy is the top spinner in domestics then Pakistan cricket is in trouble .

Zafar Gohar is a decent spinner and can bat too.He did very well for his English county team.I don’t know why the selectors overlooked him.

The guy has been topping the domestic charts for a few years. He got his chance on merit.

I really question the overall talent here. I can't take any spinner performances seriously after watching this game and also against Zimbabwe.

No wonder our new batsmen are minnow level against spin, look at Babar Azam. Only Fawad, other older guys like Malik, Sarfraz and Hafeez are quality against spin.

I think people need to relax. He is an off spinner and was bowling to 2 right hand Asian batsmen on a day 1 wicket. He was getting good turn but mushy and liton played him well. I do think he could have varies his pace a bit better and bowled a bit wider outside off

Nauman was much worse but his left arm angle and away spin was harder to score off.

there are no quality spinners in pakistan, honestly hafeez would pbly get into this test team on his bowling merits alone.

sajid might prove me wrong but from what i see two things stand out

1. he imparts way more side spin than top spin, would find it very difficult to decieve batsmen in the flight as he imparts very little top spin, and thus minimal loop on the ball.

2. his arm action appears awkwardly quick, which might un settle lesser batsmen, and thus explain his success at domestic level, but pbly also contributes to his lack of consistency.

but really pak shouldnt be relying on him to get wickets on the first day. the seamers really need to make the first session tmoro morning count.

Needs work on his action, pace and control a lot. Whenever he flights the ball, his pace drops dramatically.
Control is already not as tight as it should be for a frontline spinner. A proper candidate for NHPC.

I bet he will a take a 5 wicket haul in the 2nd innings now.

I like him. Solid off spinners are very rare.

Regardless of how good or how 'not good' he may end up being, that action is just straight-up ugly.

Hard to watch. Only Paul Adams was worse to watch for me personally.

Zafar is still the best spinner in Pakistan, even though he has regressed from where he was. Should be in the team.

Sajid is okay at best and he need to do a lot better than this if he wants to stay in the team. We have three important home series coming up and all those teams wouldbe be thrilled to find him playing for Pakistan.

Extremely mediocre bowler with one of the ugliest actions. Honestly there is serious lack of talent in Pakistan cricket.

He makes Shoaib Malik look like Saqlain Mushtaq in comparison.

He isnt. He is FC bowler at best.

He needs to have more variety i.e. a straighter delivery atleast.

Well done to Sajid. I still not sure about him

Great performance

He has tormented Bangladesh in the last two innings whilst Nauman has gone missing

He is 29 and at the right age to be invested in for 7-10 years as the spinner.

Good selection

The other important thing you need to note is that the guy has a List A hundred and averages 16 with the bat in FC cricket. These things matter a lot now, you are picking a bowler who can lock one end and pick wickets whilst also offering to score valuable runs with the bat.

Wow is that a thigh five (pic on the right)?

Looks like we've found Dhawan's long lost cousin across the border:yk

Ajaz Patel...Sajid Khan...like London buses we have destructive spinners coming along.

Not sold on him

A lot of these wickets are because the bengalis have panicked and gone into a self destruct mode they are not batting properly.

Nauman ali on the other hand is finished because age has caught up that guy definetly looks like someone in his mid 40s .

Spot on.

Its desperately poor how Bangladeshi batsmen are that such a mediocre bowler like Sajid got so many wickets. Guy bowls 4-5 pies every over, his bowling is a complete joke and he would get battered by any team with decent batsmen.

Sajid has a unique celebration style.

He slaps his knee and does a pose.

Think this is the Fawad Alam style Turkish drama thing?

aint it just a kabadi celebration? i think mohamad irfan jr used to do it too.

Long way to go. Top teams batsmen will not be panicked like Bangladesh. Knowing Pakistan history Nauman will be there for Australia test.

Not unique, bro. Shikhar Dhawan has been doing this cringe worthy celebration for a while now, and Sajid copying him is even more cringe

Yeah, didn't look good at all. If I had not seen Dhawan do it before, I might have liked it.

Many bowlers copy Shoaib Akhtar's celebration as well, and even Shaheen copies his FIL, but this copy of Sajid is poor.

Some celebrations are worth watching once or very rarely , look awkward after every wicket. Starman , generatorman and this, look awkward.

Brilliantly done, a memorable performance without a doubt.

He has put himself right up there as a starter for the upcoming test series in which Pak will need two spinners and if Yasir is fit then Nauman might have to miss out from the XI.

Sajid's accuracy has been improving with the confidence at this level which is heartening to see. He was spinning the ball well on this wicket and that made his arm ball more potent as well.

This is a kabbadi celebration and all the cricketers copy the kabadddi players in this.

15 or so wickets in 2 Test matches

Excellent tour for him

Lol I know it's a kabaddi celebration. It just just don't look good when you have seen other's do it before. He might have been doing this for years but as I said I personally didn't like it.

Not a big deal anyways. The importan thing is he helped his side to victory! :)

I like him. He uses his non bowling arm a lot more than when he first arrived into pak side.
He's aggressive and gives it his 100%.
Makes clever changes in pace and also varies the amount of spin on the ball with great subtlety . His armer is deceptive too.
Good classical off spinner in my opinion

I have a feeling that working with Saqlain Mushtaq made a huge difference in his performance in the series. Hope we can find a couple of more quality spinners soon.

Good thing that we finally have an offie for tests with considerable FC experience plus being below 30years.

Sajid Ciampa bowled extremely well in this series. Even in the first test, he had bowled better than Nauman. Looked a lot more confident than he did in his debut series. A lot of work still remains in regards to repeatability of his action and his stock spinner.

Saqlain is an extremely good coach for spinners and his presence is going to help our spinners.

Well done to the Lad for his performance. TBH I am not convinced and I have said before and if he proves me wrong, no one will be more happier. Harder tests await and it will be interesting whether he can be successful and go against convention.

I think the benchmark has been set way high for because of the fact he is a right arm off spinner.

Pakistani people are used to watching Saeed Ajmal create those webs, but alot of us forget that he was chucking. That made him more effective than any other bowler. Infact, leg spinners couldn't enter international cricket due to the disbalance these right arm off spinners had created.

Now with legal actions Right arm offspinners are just like Left arm off spinners. Taking their time to get wickets. Which is why bowlers like Greame Swann and Nathan Lyon avg near the 30s.

If we are to persist with Sajid or any other right arm offie they will be just like how he is. Taking their time in the match and bowling spin but not be able to have the Ajmal effect with a doosra.

I am satisfied with Sajid Khan, can't have an expectations of a doosra from him as its impossible to be bowled with a legal action

He goes at 3 runs an over in domestic which isn't to bad.

I think he is the best spinner in your domestic. I watched quite a bit of the QEA last year and he was really giving it a rip and bowling batsmen through the gate.

Zafar Gohar will always have the higher ceiling but at some point, potential had to be reflected in the wickets and Zafar's stock had fallen a lot in recent years for whatever reason.

Sajid certainly deserves a very long rope because I dont think the others are even test standard.

With this confidence boosting performance, hope he will improve , otherwise he is not a top class international offie. Does not have great control and variety in his bowling and action is also not of a classic off spinner.

It was more of a case of bad bowling by BD than destructive bowling by Sajid.

He also a bit slow

Avg pace of offspin is 86-88 kph amd his is 80 kph

As per reports, Sajid Khan was contacted by team management to prepare himself after spin bowler Abrar Ahmed suffered an injury on the third day of a four-day game against Prime Minister’s XI.

PCB Cheif Selector, Wahab Riaz, in response to the team management's request, has officially confirmed off-spinner Sajid Khan as the replacement for Abrar Ahmed in the first Test against Australia in Perth. Sajid Khan's inclusion is now confirmed, pending the finalization of his travel arrangements to Perth.

Peshawar couldn’t get him into their team because Iftikhar considered himself as the frontline spinner

Why didn’t the management ask for Iftikhar as a replacement?

119.25.

Sajid Khan's bowling average vs AUS in last year's Test series in PAK.

Not sure what he'll do Down Under.

Pakistan should have had went with Iftikhar as replacement, Nauman and Sajid both are in same league so why waste a space, Iftikahr would have strengthen the batting also

Pakistan Off-spinner Sajid Khan has received a visa to Australia and is leaving Karachi tonight for Dubai from where he will fly to Australia. He will arrive in Perth tomorrow.

Sajid Khan who came as a replacement for injured Abrar Ahmed, has picked up a wicket against Victoria on the second day of the 2-day practice game. He got the wicket of Harris who scored a century before he was dismissed on 126 runs by Sajid khan.

it seems like Sajid Khan is going to get a chance to play tomorrow in the MCG test. Do you guys think he can create any impact?

Got his chance today against Australia in the 3rd match and was batting nicely until he played that rash tail-ender (that he is) like shot. But still, some runs are always a confidence booster when you are called in as a replacement. SHould have done better than that though. Let's see how he bowls now.

On the evidence of his bowling so far today,no better than when he 1st played and looks inferior to Salman Agha

Sajid would be cursing his luck for that close call. Luck is not on Pakistan's side this series but Sajid has so far been average.

Utter rubbish throughout his career so far.

Why did we pick him again is beyond me.

Sajid is even struggling to spin the ball from the rough patches.

Was that the right call to give him a chance over many other domestic performers?

Guy is useless, has no variation and struggles to get turn even on turning wicket like this one.
