I think dahani should be ahead of Rauf in tests.
 
This guy isn't being treated right. He is our biggest fast bowling prospect imo, and is being made to fight for mere scraps every series.

Can't get into the team vs Netherlands. Oh well.

I thought he would be picked but I guess he likes to bowls at first change similarly to Rauf and Wasim Jnr.

Disappointing performance - no wickets - sad that he hasn't been given chances to settle into the team.
 
I only saw his latest over, but he looked mighty ordinary. No pace, no movement, poor line and length.

But nevertheless ended the game with economical numbers.

No substitute for FC and LA cricket which should be the main criteria for Test and ODI selections respectively. Shaheen was a generational talent and ended up justifying his selection.
 
Went wicketless but was economical.

10-0-37-0.

Good bowling considering they were defending a small target.

Certainly down on pace. But that's kinda normal for a fast bowler who has barely played a game in months. Finding his rhythm. That's why he should've been given 3 games here.

Still bowled well.
 
Was not in his full rhythm but, bowled pretty accurately with some good bumpers. Bowled a few around and in 140s but, average pace was less then both Naseem and Wasim today.
 
Was getting good bounce initially with some away movement but I am yet to see his wicket taking stock ball which is must for an International bowler. Pace wise he was down too.

He needs more international game time. Simple as that.

More wickets than even Shaheen. That's saying something.

People say he is expensive. Well what about the Horror show (1st choice) Waseem put in this years psl? If Dahani's economy of over 9 in this year's psl is bad what about Hasan's economy of over 10? Or Waseem's economy of over 11???


If we sideline him for Hasnain or worse, Hasan Ali of all people, then we truely have lost our senses.

Excellent to hear. Well earned over Hasnain & Hasan and gets an opportunity to prove himself.

Rauf/Naseem/Dahani should still be a decent attack.

Dubai, 3 September 2022:

Shahnawaz Dahani will not be available for Sunday’s ACC T20 Asia Cup Super-4 match against India due to a suspected side strain. The injury happened while bowling in the match against Hong Kong in Sharjah on Friday.

As is the case with any suspected side strain injury, the medical team will monitor him for the next 48-72 hours, following which they will make decisions, including carrying out a scan and further participation in the tournament.

Dahani might not have done spectacularly but he is critical to our balance allowing us to keep up the pressure.

Now Hasan Ali will come in and we are doomed.

Yeah man. Hasan is gonna ruin everything. I would definitely play hasnain instead of that loser Hasan Ali.
 
This is a huge blow imo.

Dahani was the perfect foil for Naseem. He kept up the pressure and was reliable when given the ball late.
 
Dhani tbh hasn't really looked in great rhythm in his last few bowling performances. He has bowled defensively and hasn't really looked like taking wickets.
 
Hassan Ali has some serious level of Kaala-Jaadu Black Magic going on. Shaheen, Wasim and now Dahani all injured :(

Do NOT want to see HASSAN Ali in the playing XI. He will drop catches and bowl ****** balls to get KL and Kohli back in form

But he was critical to the composition. He allowed others to shine. Didn't bowl rubbish and kept up the pressure.
 
Hasnain will be a surprise factor for India , TBH not much impressed by Dahani bowling , he is not a bowler for subcontinent wicket as his go to wicket delivery is short pitch.

Was it just recently? Wasn't he the best seamer I Pakistan Cup? Had a decent PSL as well.
 
Big blow. He was bowling very tight in Asia Cup.

Hard to know what you'll get from Hasnain & Hasan Ali. Could be great or 50 runs off 4 overs. Honestly. I think I might go with Usman Qadir over another seamer and try to choke the opposition with spin.

This feels like a big blunder. I trust him more than Wasim Jr and Hasnain.

This guy needs to focus on his bowling and less on gimmicks
Still hasn't proven himself at the international level
 
Seemed undercooked today.

Clearly hasn't played much cricket of late and was all over the place.

Cut down on the silly appeals and concentrate on your bowling.
 
First game for a while give him a chance.

Like to see him get a proper run to see if has the potential at this level.
 
He has looked short of pace and sharpness compared to some of the PSL matches. He needs to bowl fast and hit the hard length. Disappointed with him

Even though he clocks consistently in the 140s his off the wicket speed is the slowest in this series, Luke woods 140k delivery comes as 127k off the surface where as Dahani 142k only comes as 118k off the surface and hence it provides toouch time for the batsmen.

Batting friendly track but he seems to have lost his way recently.

Confidence looks a bit low.
 
Let him play 10-15 games and then come back to me with these criticisms.

He will be a mainstay for Pakistan in future.

While he deserved his chance in this series, hated his celebration when he takes a wicket... Achieve something first before you celebrate like that!
 
Dahani has lost his way slightly but make no mistake he is a talented fast bowler and defo has a future in international cricket. He needs to stop being a joker all the time.

Its all good doing your celebrations when you get a wicket but you have a long way to go kid. His back of length, hit the deck hard will be very handy on Aussie wickets. He reminds me of Jason Gillespie.

He bowls a test line ie 4th stump, which to guys that don't go back and across is a free hit. He has to bowl a hard length to hit off stump

But based upon the original squad it was correct call to him have him the reserves rather than in the 15
 
He had this chance to break into the 15 man squad for the world cup but failed to take his opportunity.
 
Why has he lost 8-10 kms of average pace so early in his career?
Always felt he’d get stronger and quicker. He isnt threatening anyone at this pace.

Because he's not 24 , look at his face he clearly looks like someone who is around his 30s
 
This guy is so so overrated. He looks like a trundler now. Bowling in the range of 137ks without any swing or seam. He is just terrible.

Hate his overrated acting so much. Hopefully he gets kicked out from the team.
 
He's simply not ready yet. Neither him, nor Wasim. The difference between their performances last week and today is simply the opposing team. NZ has been struggling big time recently and today it was obvious why the likes of Aus/Ind/Eng are on a different level.

Dahani's last 2 overs were mostly length balls delivered at 135. In all honesty he should've been carted to all parts of the park.
 
He does have potential for the longer version of the game though. A couple of seasons in the QA trophy, developing some skill with seam movement and he could be someone who can be given a chance depending on how he develops.
 
Probably the most overrated Pakistani fast bowler out there atm. If he didn't had his theatrics he would have been treated the same way as someone like may Musa etc.

Dhani's selection in the team is scandelous now

Have watched his bowling for Pakistan in the last few months. The guy is brainless as they get. He hasn't bowled wicket taking lengths at all. He keeps getting smashed as the weakest link in the Pakistani bowling attack and our brainless team management, selectors keep picking him.

He needs to learn his trade in domestic cricket.
 
Watching Dahani get smashed out of the attack is becoming a routine, Babar really needs to lose some of his selection power. How he keeps getting selected after getting bashed over and over is beyond me. Embarrassing bowler for Pakistani standards, with the most cringe celebrations out there. It is embarrassing to watch him celebrate like he does when he takes a rare wicket while getting taken to the cleaners.
 
What most funny is, I predicted right to the point that he will get smashed at this delivery and he did - twice in a row, my prediction was 100% correct.

He's such a clown, people here at PP claimed him like he is the 2nd coming of Imran Khan or something like that but never saw anything amazing in him. ATM he ha same potential as Musa, Hasnain is miles ahead of this clown & thank GOD management has decided to take Hasnain instead of Dahani.
 
Terrible bowler.no swing, no seam no pace. He is absolutely horrible. I hope i never see his face again. Hate him so much.

Me and you called it at the start of the series. Feel sorry for everyone that bought into Dahani’s charisma and fell into a trap thinking he’s a good bowler too.

Not fast enough, not enough movement in the air, not enough control.

Outclassed by Hasnain in all departments.
 
This guy is not serious about his cricket. He feels he is a star already, the PSL has not helped his development at all. Someone needs to have a stern word to him about his crazy celebrations.

He needs to learn to remain humble and grounded. He has achieved absolutely nothing so far and needs to work on his bowling.
 
Needs some coaching, along with his lack of control, his tactics are wrong

Hasnain and the other seamers have proved me wrong
