[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Usman Tariq - Mystery spinner with an 'unorthodox' action [Cleared from suspected bowling action in PSL 9, Update on Post#150]

Usman is bowling well today after being cleared. Sometimes an action change can lead to a loss of confidence. I think he may have to do further tests though, still looks dubious, imo

"When you are unable to read the spinner rightly then do play him as a off spinner. Rizwan was playing sweep shot against him (Usman Tariq), Johnson Charles hit him for slog sweep and sixes. So normally when googly is someone's main ball and then you try to play it from inside out then even the wicket taking delivery of such a bowler goes out of the equation. I think such pitch suits him (Usman Tariq) where the ball goes fast off the pitch and has low bounce so he could target the batsman wicket or pads"
 
Mr mystery is getting picked by the batsmen quite easily now... he needs further pause in his bowling action! :ROFLMAO:
 
Good start to the Ramadan Ghani Tournament by Usman Tariq... he bowled 4 overs and gave away 28 runs taking 2 wickets.

Even if he isn't chucking, that extra long pause of his should be outlawed. It's a disgrace and not in keeping with the spirit of the sport.

Exactly , people just make up these terms spirit of the game etc to suit whatever dogma they hold. I personally don’t see anything wrong with his action. Is it a pause? Is it a massive slowing down. Doesn’t matter, unless it’s deemed illegal he should play and wreak havoc

Usman Tariq reported for suspect bowling action​

Rawalpindi, 14 April 2025: Quetta Gladiators spinner Usman Tariq was reported by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown for a suspect bowling action during his side’s HBL PSL X match against Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening.

As per the rules, Usman can continue to bowl in future matches. However, if he is reported again, he will be suspended from bowling and will need to obtain clearance from an ICC accredited lab before he can resume bowling.

Called it.

When you have an action like this its every easy to invertedly bend more or pause for a bit longer when you are trying to put extra energy into your effort.
 
the guy has no follow through ...just stand and delivers.. the runup is just a camouflage. he does not pause he halts and reloads. the arm does not bend when he bowls round arm googlies and carrom balls but definitely bents when bowing quicker ones.

Exactly. Had made the same comment in this thread last year. The action is a disadvantage rather than a strength. He has no momentum from the runup when he delivers and obviously there is no follow through. While i don't like or agree with his action at all, from what little I have seen of him, the delivery seems clear. I guess it must be what you have pointed out. Given his need for extra power for quicker ones he might be bending his arm on some deliveries. Novel as that action might be, there is no way he will last long with it.
 
I saw an interview where he said he has two elbows in his arm. Is this possible or just Desi nonsense?
