Can't comment on other Muslims countries but Pakistan is the second largest Shia country in the world after Iran there are around 50 million Shias in Pakistan and majority consider them muslims. Our founder MA Jinnah was an ismaili shia and we had multiple shia PMs, CJs, Army Chiefs even our current federal cabinet is mostly Shia

There is a one small Hazara community within Shias settled in Quetta Balochistan area that is targeted mostly otherwise Shias and Sunnis live peacefully together here.

Constitution must be changed, so that quota must be given irrespective of caste. Otherwise don't give quota to anyone. Educational institutions must be given autonomy irrespective of religion. Otherwise don't give autonomy to any institution?

The general category quota was only for the economically backward, and it was done without affecting the quota for scheduled castes and tribes.
 
It is only a matter of time before the Indian Government green light - Operation Blue Star 2.

Only in this sequel, the target are 200M Muslims, instead of helpless Sikhs in Punjab.

The trilogy will include a final part which will eliminate lower caste Hindus.

Because we are not refugee capital of the world.

Pak and BD were formed out of India in 1947. Even Afghanistan was part of Indian empires till Sikh Empire.

Even post that, the Durand line is still considered temporary by Afghans and there was actually free movement of people before 1947. Lots of non Muslims hence ended up on the other side of the Durand line.

Buddhism originated in India. We are only taking refugees from 3 nations. Two of which were formed after partition and the third was hsving a free flowing border.

We are only providing citizenship to persecuted minorities of pak bd, its a remanant of partition. This law is not applicable to people outside pak bd afg.

Regarding why it doesn't provide citizenship to Muslims of pak bd afg

1. Muslims are not minorities in islamic nation.

2. Muslims of pak and BD got a country in 1947, a country they demanded. Now they cannot claim any right to come to India.

You keep repeating same thing over and over again.
It does affect Indian Muslims living in India too you don’t want to admit it but it clearly does. Theirs a reason that Indian Muslims are protesting they ain't doing it because they want Pakistani Muslims coming into India. For the people who keep saying NRC won't be done all over India. It will be. Amit Shah has said it previously many times.

Then they come up with the CAB before the NRC so they can protect everyone who don't have documents except Muslims. And funny in this whole thing they have not mentioned Muslims but have labelled them as infiltrators.
Clearly shows their hate for Muslims. What will the poor Muslims do who been living for India for centuries and don't have the valid documents they will be called infiltrator and the others will get away via the CAB.

Shiaas are not minority, Ahmedis are in Pakistan.

They are not considered Muslims in Saudi Arabia, and Sunnis are not considered Muslim in Iran.

I might be wrong, but i thought Pakistan has one of the largest shia populations in the world.
I know in lahore there are thousands of shia. I am not aware of any major incidents between shias and sunnis in lahore.
We are sunni, but some of my exteneded family in Pakistan are married to shia, no problem.

Punjabis should take no moral high ground on immigration as they are the most in number of illegal undocumented Indians abroad spending Lakhs just desperate to play JazzyB in their cars and show off..

Punjabis were running from Punjab for a long time now. You guys have made Canada and England as your second home. Don't tell me it is because of law and order as the reason for Punjabi migration.

Its funny how Punjabis especially Sikhs who cry about everything when they are the richest and the most respected people in India. Compare that to us Southies who are made fun of and live in far worse conditions than Punjabis.

New Delhi: BCCI Chairman Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday said that his daughter is too young to understand politics and people should keep her out of all the controversy.

Ganguly's comments came after his daughter, Sana Ganguly, took to Instagram to share an excerpt from Khuswant Singh's "The end of India", expressing her dissent over police crackdown on students of Jamia Millia Islamia University who were protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

The excerpt read, “Every fascist regime needs communities and groups it can demonize in order to thrive. It starts with one group or two. But it never ends there. A movement built on hate can only sustain itself by continually creating fear and strife.

“Those of us today who feel secure because we are not Muslims or Christians are living in a fool’s paradise. The Sangh is already targeting the Leftist historians and “Westernized” youth. Tomorrow it will turn its hate on women who wear skirts, people who eat meat, drink liquor, watch foreign films, don’t go on annual pilgrimages to temples, use toothpaste instead of danth manjan, prefer allopathic doctors to vaids, kiss or shake hands in greeting instead of shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. No one is safe. We must realize this if we hope to keep India alive,” the Instagram story read.

This is India's internal problem. Pak does not claim Indian Muslim's or the cities where all the fighting is happening. It is great seeing all this happening in India though. I am not gonna deny that I am delighted to see all this:)

IF NRC is implemented we can easily get documents. Even poorest of the poor can get ANY of the below documents:

Assume there is poor muslim living now in a small hut somewhere in india without any properties on his name or his parents' name till date, let's assume that his parents died too. Now to prove that he is indian all he has to do is simple, provide any of the below documents:

Electoral roll(s) up to March 24 (midnight), 1971
 Land and tenancy records
 Citizenship certificate
 Permanent residential certificate
 Refugee registration certificate
 Any government issued license/certificate
 Government service/ employment certificate
 Bank or post office accounts
 Birth certificate
 State educational board or university educational certificate
 Court records/processes
 Passport
 Any LIC policy


If that person is not able to provide any of above document still no worries they can provide ANY of below document:

Birth certificate
 Land document
 Board/university certificate
 Bank/LIC/post office records
 Circle officer/gaon panchayat secretary certificate in case of married women
 Electoral roll
 Ration card
 Any other legally acceptable document


Even the poorest of the poor can be provide any of the above document ! Infact even illegal immigrants can get documents too.

In india hardly such documents cost few hundred rupees of bribe, I don't know why people r so worried ...

All the usual culprits like Guha, Kashyap, Kanhaiya, Rana Ayyub etc is having field day today. Just have a look at NDTV page, they are almost rejoicing if there is a riot or vandalism. Good thing is, most of them are exposing themselves more and more in this.

Lets get one thing very clear, this vandalism and hooliganism in the name of protest is not bcoz of CAB. It is an excuse to take out the political frustration just bcoz they cannot defeat Modi in election. All these riots are well planned and organized to potray country is boiling etc. Good thing is, silent majority is watching all these quietly and will teach another lesson come next election, just like May 23rd.

Protest in Assam was valid and I agreed to it as well. Their protest was against immigrants coming to Assam and taking their jobs/livelihood etc. It was a valid concern and totaly agreed. They never protested bcoz muslims were excluded from that bill. This hindu-muslim card was played by those politicians and parties whom people of India have rejected. Assam has somehow mellowed down but oppositions hunger for riots is still going on. They are still putting ghee on fire as I type. Losers of the world like Kanhaiya Kumar who cant even win a seat in Bihar is giving sermons to people :)))

In this day and age of social media, Internet shut down is a standard protol to spread hatred online and ignite more violence. Democracy does not give you freedom to do whatever you want. In united states for example, all phone calls get tapped...will you not call it a democracy? You have to do what you need to do to maintain law n order in the country.

Police's job is to stop mob violence and ruckus. If you throw stones at officers, set aflame buses into fire, uproot railway tracks...police will deal with you the way they are being taught. In a democracy, you are free to protest but vandalism/hooliganism cant be allowed.

Nah no govt narrative. Just like you shared a video to prove AMU students are innocent...I have seen many many videos where students attacked police, throwing stones at school buses etc in the name of protest. In my home state of bengal, 2 trains have been set alight by mobs. Govt is acting very soft actually. Army should be deployed against such goons.

And pls dont come back with the same bahana that our freedom of speech is curbed etc. Being an Indian you and I both know, no ones freedom of speech will ever be snapped. But one simply cant take law in their own hand and then claim freedom of speech.

Also, we all know these are organized protests and nothing to do with CAB. We all walk on the streets of India every day...how many stones you see lying on the ground? From where are these students getting so manu stones to throw at cops? Who is supplying them??

The issue with so called liberal Indians are they think they are only smart people and rest all is fool. Its true to a certain extent and hence Congress made fool of so many Indians for 70 years but that mask has been removed already. Its high time so called secular liberal educated Indians come to the reality.

Good luck getting support of the common man who actually votes and isnt limited to social media and dharnas. Its the common public who is suffering.

It is the truth. People are being pushed into supporting the Hindutva brigade. They are suffering in these violent riots. They are seeing which side is supporting these riots. They may/will push the button for the other side, come the elections.

There are elections and in last few years data says more and more non muslims and Shia muslims are voting for BJP.

These riots will push more non muslims to vote BJP.

Go for UN-monitored referendum on CAA, NRC: Mamata Banerjee's challenge to Centre

Addressing a rally at Rani Rashmoni Avenue here, the Trinamool Congress supremo alleged that the BJP was trying to brand the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as a fight between Hindus and Muslims.

KOLKATA: Challenging the Modi government to go for a UN-monitored referendum over the amended Citizenship Act and the proposed nationwide NRC, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday that the BJP will have to quit if it fails such a "mass vote".

Addressing a rally at Rani Rashmoni Avenue here, the Trinamool Congress supremo alleged that the BJP was trying to brand the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as a fight between Hindus and Muslims.

"Just because the BJP has got the majority doesn't mean that they can do whatever they want. If the BJP has guts, it should go for a United Nations-monitored referendum on the issue of Citizenship Amendment Act and the NRC. Let there be an impartial organisation like the UN or the Human Rights Commission conduct it," Banerjee said.

"If the BJP looses this mass vote, then it should step down from the government," she added.

Banerjee, who has been at the forefront of protests against the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the new citizenship law, has led three marches crisscrossing the city since Monday. She is scheduled to address another rally in minority-dominated Park Circus area on Friday.

"Tomorrow we have a protest meeting at Park Circus. I would request everybody to maintain peace. Don't fall into the trap of the BJP. They want to make it a fight between Hindus and Muslims. We have specific inputs that the BJP is buying skull caps for its cadres who are wearing them while vandalising properties to malign a particular community," she alleged.

Reiterating that the contentious law and the NRC won't be allowed in West Bengal, Banerjee said the BJP was founded in 1980 and was asking for citizenship documents of 1970 from people.

"We are born here, and that is our biggest identity. BJP don't have the right to determine our citizenship. Do we have to wear BJP's amulet to prove our citizenship? A party which was formed in 1980 is seeking documents of 1970," she quipped.

Banerjee said the BJP was acting like a "washing machine" which turns corrupts and criminals turn into sages.

She said despite imposing prohibitory orders in various parts of the country, the saffron party won't succeed in curbing protests.

"Entire country is burning and BJP is laughing, because they want India to burn. The protests have spread to all parts of the country be it BJP-ruled state or non BJP ruled," she said.

Banerjee questioned why Afghanistan was included in the amended Citizenship Act but Myanmar and Sri Lanka were left out.

"From when did India start sharing borders with Afghanistan that it was included, but Myanmar and Sri Lanka was omitted," she asked.

The amended Citizenship Act seeks to provide citizenship to members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities who have entered India till December 31, 2014 following religious persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Banerjee said the agitation must continue till the controversial law is revoked by the central government.

"Suddenly after 73 years of Independence we have to prove that we are Indian citizens. Where was the BJP's head and tail at that time. BJP is dividing the country. Don't stop your protest because we have to get CAA revoked," she said.

Stating that her government has halted all works on the National Population Register (NPR) in the state, Banerjee said she was receiving various complaints regarding it.

"I would ask my party cadres to prepare the voter list meticulously, ensure that no one is left out. BJP is planning to omit several genuine voters and include some people through online voting registration process, in order to create a panic," she said.

I expected this sort of reaction to come after Article 370 was revoked but the BJP were prepared for that.

Looks like they didn't expect this sort of reaction over a bill

Mobile Internet services have been suspended in Ghaziabad for 24 hours from 10:00 PM on Thursday in view of violent protests against the new citizenship law in parts of Uttar Pradesh, PTI reports.
