I’m glad India is protesting , we need to do it peacefully and try to get grounds for the same..these are the events that will sow the dislike for Hindutva politics

You may also then want to post about Tasleema Nasreen who openly supported CAB. You do realize right likes of Arundhati Roy is exactly like Tasleema, just that he speaks on behalf of other side. Country is well aware of her and likes of her.

You can post..

Nah no govt narrative. Just like you shared a video to prove AMU students are innocent...I have seen many many videos where students attacked police, throwing stones at school buses etc in the name of protest. In my home state of bengal, 2 trains have been set alight by mobs. Govt is acting very soft actually. Army should be deployed against such goons.

And pls dont come back with the same bahana that our freedom of speech is curbed etc. Being an Indian you and I both know, no ones freedom of speech will ever be snapped. But one simply cant take law in their own hand and then claim freedom of speech.

Also, we all know these are organized protests and nothing to do with CAB. We all walk on the streets of India every day...how many stones you see lying on the ground? From where are these students getting so manu stones to throw at cops? Who is supplying them??

The issue with so called liberal Indians are they think they are only smart people and rest all is fool. Its true to a certain extent and hence Congress made fool of so many Indians for 70 years but that mask has been removed already. Its high time so called secular liberal educated Indians come to the reality.

Continue this narrative as much as you can. But i don’t see any sense there. You can accuse me of bias but what about international media?

Why will i be happy?

I said yesterday. Politicians are losing the plot here. BJP is gaining here.

If this continues they will win without even doing much work. That what i dont want.

Does this protest changes anything? No. BJP will again win with big majority because of Modi PR and hindutva politics. But it just sents a message that the government cannot run over us like this everytime. Jamia and AMU attack was the melting point. Leave the Sanghis, atleast some will start using their brain and look around instead of educating from those whatsapp Universities.:)

This is all organized and coordinated.

Anyway, I hope everyone gets back to their senses soon.

CAB-NRC Protests

No violence in Mumbai
No violence in Punjab
No violence in Madhya Pradesh
No violence in Rajasthan

Then where did violence happen?

- Uttar Pradesh (BJP ruled)
- Karnataka (BJP ruled)
- Ahmedabad (BJP ruled)
- Assam (BJP ruled)
- Delhi (BJP controlled Police)
- West Bengal (Elections next year)

So, who is inciting violence?

There is a Yale university study which says who benefits from these riots before election in India.

https://m.economictimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/bjp-gains-in-polls-after-every-riot-says-yale-study/articleshow/45378840.cms

Analysing the effect of riots on the vote share of “Hindu nationalist parties”, the paper notes that “the BJS/BJP saw a 0.8 percentage point increase in their vote share following a riot in the year prior to an election”. “The polarization of the electorate induced by riots disadvantages Congress in subsequent elections, making it counter-productive for the party’s affiliates to instigate riots following an electoral loss,” the paper notes.

What they it's your party say it openly,You want it.

I am criticizing them here.

No party is anyone's party unless of course you are a high ranking member.

I grew up in a congress supporting family. Voted for mamata.

So no i have no party.

Its not enjoyable to me either but its interesting seeing the reaction of Indian Muslims after their silence when Kashmiris were being forced to accept some laws. They knew they were next but didn't have the courage to stand up for Kashmiris.

Honestly Pakistanis should just thank Allah and M.A.Jinnah and mind their own business.

As the saying goes... "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake".

It’s the ulema e hind who are organising most of the protests on their 100th anniversary, the parallels are unnerving especially in bopal etc
Hopefully Kashmir’s oppression will be chacked soon

You are wrong to single out Muslims here, it’s more like an All faith movement against the Fascist regime. Everyone are organising protests.

Good to see people of different faiths protesting too.

But the Indian police are like animals. This isn't democracy but fascism.

Please explain what she said wrong in this video? Your opinion of her is your opinion anon on this forum.

So concentrate on her words and do explain.

5 police officers shoving a muslim kid on a bus, is that more or less efficient than the ratio of soldiers to kids in kashmir?

I expected this sort of reaction to come after Article 370 was revoked but the BJP were prepared for that.

Looks like they didn't expect this sort of reaction over a bill

That reaction would only be in Kashmir

^
If the BJP had even a handful of people with the brains of that cop above, this situation wouldn't have happened.

You are wrong to single out Muslims here, it’s more like an All faith movement against the Fascist regime. Everyone are organising protests.

Its mainly a muslim movement. Or by opposition supporters.

Stone gang in fake skullcap held by Murshidabad police
BJP says its worker not involved in attack on train engine

A youth known locally as a BJP worker and five associates, each of them in lungi and skullcap, were detained by Murshidabad police on Wednesday after local people allegedly caught them throwing stones at a train engine.

Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday alleged, without mentioning this incident, that the BJP was buying skullcaps for its workers to wear while going on the rampage to try and deflect blame on a particular community.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on Sunday said the protesters against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act could be “identified by their clothes”.

Officers in Murshidabad said that residents of Radhamadhabtala village had caught and handed over the six youths after seeing them throwing stones at a Sealdah-bound trial engine travelling on the Sealdah-Lalgola line. They said the six included Abhishek Sarkar, 21, a local BJP worker.

“The youths claimed they had worn lungis and skullcaps for the sake of a video they were shooting for their YouTube channel. But they could not prove the existence of any such channel,” district police chief Mukesh said.

Radhamadhabtala residents said Abhishek, who lives in neighbouring Srisnagar, was seen at the forefront of all local BJP rallies.

“We became suspicious when we saw the youths change their clothes near the railway line,” a villager said on Thursday. “We knew Abhishek as he is very vocal about his views. So we decided to confront them.”

Sources said a seventh member of the group fled after being accosted. The other six were being questioned at Behrampore police station on Thursday.

Local BJP sources confirmed that Sarkar was a party worker but BJP district president Gouri Sankar Ghosh said: “He is not a member of our party. We don’t know anything about the incident in Radhamadhabtala.”

In Calcutta, Mamata told a rally on Rani Rashmoni Avenue: “On Friday, we have a protest meeting at Park Circus after the prayers. I request everybody to maintain peace.”

She added: “Don’t fall into the BJP’s trap. They are trying very hard to turn this into a fight between Hindus and Muslims, when it’s anything but…. We have received intelligence that the BJP has been buying skullcaps for its workers. They are wearing them to get photographed and filmed while vandalising public property… to malign a community.

“I urge our younger generation not to believe everything they see on social media. The BJP has been misusing the crores at its disposal to spread fake news and videos to incite violence and hatred.”

A Radhamadhabtala resident said the Sealdah-Lalgola tracks passing through the village had been a site of tensions last weekend. “We ensured calm after much struggle this week, and cannot tolerate such negative intentions,” he added, alluding to the six detained youths.

I don't know why few people are worrying about CAA, nothing wrong in it
I support this.

Any how nothing will happen, only few people making noise.
As usual one more victory to BJP like Article 370, Triple talak, Ayodha verdict.

Its quite obvious that CAA+NRC is dangerous for indian muslims.
Combination of CAA+NRC IS obviously discriminatory and shouldnt be implemented.
But
If CAA alone is implemented then there shouldn't be any problem.
Why should we accept non minorities from other neighbouring nations.

Violent protestors who are destroying public properties will get to know what hell looks like and police action is totally justified there.

The minorities can be of diff ethnicity as well, unless you are only talking about religious minority.

How about this solution to #CABNRC?

1. India may give citizenship to any persecuted minorities across any nation on first cover first serve basis, unless our capacity runs out.

That would solve all the current chaos, waste of money, confusion and we can focus on key issues.

It would help 135 crore people of India.

2. To deal with Assam NRC problem, either send all out/ or distribute them among states!

My pick - Distribute and help them settle and let’s focus on economy/jobs/education/health for all Indians.

But is government listening?

My Assam colleagues saying they facing too many issues with illegal immigrants particularly from Bangla.
Poor Indians loosing their benefits due to these illegal immigrants, sharing reservations in everything.

This NRC is a major smoke screen by BJP to divert peoples attention from the major concerning issues.

When and what? I am a big BJP critic. Never liked their policy of pitting Hindus and Muslims to gain power.

I only supported them in Kashmir issue.

I think it would be fair to say you agree with their generally anti-Islamic stance as well. You have posted many verses from Islamic sources which are normally presented in a violent context on Hindu extremist sites.

So you are saying that we should be silent no matter whatever is happening around us? Except the BJP ruled states and Delhi, Protest occurred peacefully and Police didn’t incite violence or agitate the protesters.

True. They should be first in line but nobody is going to listen.

Former India fast bowler Irfan Pathan opened up on the recent criticism he received over his remarks supporting Jamia Millia Islamia students. The former speedster had posted a message on Twitter a day after CAA protesters clashed with Delhi Police in Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. In his tweet, he wrote: “Political blame game will go on forever but I and our country is concerned about the students of #JamiaMilia #JamiaProtest”. Speaking to Indian Express, the current J-K coach-cum-mentor said that he has the earned the right to speak his mind on issues affecting the people of country.

“Let me start with a personal story. When I went to Pakistan in 2004 for the Friendship tour, I went to a college in Lahore along with Rahul Dravid, L Balaji, and Parthiv Patel. In a question-and-answer segment attended by 1,500 students, one girl got up and asked, almost in anger: why do I play for India despite being a Muslim? I stood up and said I am not doing any favours (ehsaan) by playing for India. It’s my country, and I am lucky, proud and honoured to represent it. It’s my mulk, my country, a place where my ancestors all come from. Everyone in that college clapped.”

“If I can speak like that in Pakistan, in an open gathering, puffing out my chest, then I don’t need anyone’s permission in my own country to say what I feel. I have represented my country. Some people should realise that. When I ran in to bowl for India, I didn’t think I am a Muslim. I am an Indian first before anything else,” he wrote.

Delhi police on Tuesday released a video where the joint CP can be heard asking protesters to stop stone-pelting. The video from 15th December shows police personnel asking protesters in Jamia Millia Islamia to remain calm. D

Pathan further said that peaceful protest is fundamental right in a democratic nation. “Whenever there are two sides to an argument, and both strong, I don’t tweet about it. Here, the issue was different. Peaceful protest in a democracy is a fundamental right. I wanted the attention to go there so that there is no loss of life there, the situation doesn’t worsen. These are kids, our future. Aren’t the Jamia kids ours? Aren’t the IIM kids ours? Aren’t the North-East kids ours? Aren’t the kids from Kashmir and Gujarat ours? All of them are our kids,” he said.

The 35-year-old further said that there is nothing wrong in him presenting his opinion. “If I present my opinion on society, is it wrong? Haven’t I done anything for my society? I have. I also know that in this era of social media, there would be reactions and I also know that many of them are fake accounts,” he wrote.

Pathan further said that people should not spread hatred and spread positivity. “Don’t spread hate. We should retain positivity in our minds. It’s not like before, a random text message of hate, now it’s everywhere; just open the phone and it will flood in. It’s our responsibility.”

Irfan Pathan represented India in 29 Tests, 120 ODIs and 24 T20Is. He was part of the team that won the 2007 ICC WT20.

I am a critic of religion in general. The reason is because they are all started by people who had no clue how the world works. They put the onus on God and fought wars over that brainless concept.

When certain claims are made about Islam by Muslims, I would only have to post the Islamic sources to debunk those claims. I read no Hindu sites. I only read your sources and watch debates on tv about God and his/her existence.

It brings me no joy whatsoever in seeing what India is becoming.
No joy whatsoever.

But at least it’s now out in the open.
It is no surprise to anyone that Friday is one of the most violent day of the protest.
It’s a trend that follows around the world.
Something extra special about friday and violence day.

My Indian work colleagues are worried sick over what is happening in India. I see they are so very quiet these days and not even eating properly at lunch breaks:inzi2 The confidence over Modi repealing article 370 has been completely shattered as now all of the country is facing civil war with the situation being much like the Middle East. In Modi they have an illiterate man who thought he was a genius! Give a monkey a match and he'll bring the whole house down, that's him.
cricketjoshila You were saying a few months back how easy it would be to throw illegal's out of India. I told you then you don't know what you're on about:saslam

We are to expect a false flag in India now so to divert the attention of Indian people from what is happening in their country. Indian media are saying an attack on Modi from some Pakistani terrorist group namely Jaish-e-Muhammad is possible on 22 Dec when Modi will be attending some political function. India has lined up missiles along the LoC, Pak has made it clear that any attack will be returned with proper interest. Modi knows full well that he has bitten off much more then he can chew hence all this panic from his side. The question again is why would Pak attack when India is in the doldrums already? How does the Indian media know that Modi will be attacked by the Jaish?

Loving the way how these fake staged protests are getting demasked day by day :))

https://youtu.be/w9nnKlbxDQ4

What does this video prove?

I remember seeing video about modi’s eection where his supporters didn’t know basics about him and his policies

All these mass gatherings have people brought in by relatives and friends who generally care but don’t know details.

Not saying this is staged or not but this doesn’t prove anything either way

Assam holds pro-CAA rally for peace and harmony amid violent protests nationwide

At a time when the country is witnessing a series of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday led a mammoth pro-citizenship law rally calling for peace and harmony in the northeastern state. The rally was joined by BJP workers and legislators of the state. Ironically, it was Assam where the first protests against the citizenship law had sparked off. However, the situation came under control after days of protests and now the state is largely peaceful.

A day after the citizenship law was cleared by Parliament, Assam erupted in violent protests disrupting the normal functioning of the state. The protestors vandalised railway stations, post offices, banks, bus terminus and shops. They also set dozens of vehicles on fire. After repeated attempts and assurances from the ruling BJP, the demonstrators returned to peaceful protests.

This week on Monday, the Assam government decided to lift curfew completely, including the night curfew. Today, BJP Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a large number of overwhelmingly enthusiastic people joined the BJP for peace and prosperity march. “I thank people for your continued faith in us. Your love keeps us driving to achieve the best,” he said.

While Assam returned to normalcy, protests have turned violent at other places in the country. However, the reason for which the protests are happening in parts of the country is entirely different from that of the northeastern state.

In Assam, the people are against illegal infiltrators regardless of their religion. But in the rest of the country, a section of people is demanding the inclusion of Muslims too. The amended citizenship law has provision to grant citizenship to people from six minority communities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

As I said, the protest Assamese people did initially was totally justified because they were against all immigrants coming to India and taking their livelihood. But this hindu-muslim polarisation done by congress and other political parties, added fuel to the fire based on fearmongering and made the country burnt for a week. Everything falling apart now for them...their mask has been totally exposed.

First the protest was against CAA. When it was found that it is not against Indian Muslims at all, the focus shifted to NRC. All India NRC draft is not public yet. All was based on the Assam NRC.

All India NRC won't be easy to pass. Even if it gets passed it will not be a mirror copy of Assam NRC. it is true that there is trust deficit between BJP led govt and indian muslims, but this premature protest + arson + vandalism will polarize things and help the BJP.

Delhi Cops Did Fire During Jamia Protests, Records Show: Sources
Violence had broken out during the citizenship act protest against the contentious citizenship law, with the police and protesters seen engaged in virtually a pitched battle in a posh south Delhi locality.

New Delhi:

The Delhi Police did use firearms to control the mob during the December 15 citizenship amendment act protests held by students of Jamia Millia Islamia, officers now admit in private. The officers had fired in the air in self-defence as the situation threatened to go out of hand and an entry on it has been found in the daily diary that is maintained at every police station, a senior police officer told NDTV on condition of anonymity. The police have been investigating several videos of the protests that showed as the force investigated several videos of the protest, where officers were seen firing handguns.

The area in the Mathura Road where this took place was swarming with protesters throwing stones, the officer said. The police were surrounded and faced heavy attack and an officer had fired in the air in self-defence, a senior officer said.

Violence had broken out during the protest against the contentious citizenship law, with the police and protesters seen engaged in virtually a pitched battle in a posh south Delhi locality. The protesters threw stones at the police, who retaliated with batons and tear gas.

Later, there were claims that the police had used firearms, but this was categorically denied by the Delhi Police. The suspected gunshot wounds, they said, could be injuries from shards of tear gas canisters.

By late evening videos were circulated on social media that showed policemen firing and an investigation was ordered.

One of the videos showed a policeman drawing out a gun and opening fire. After firing in the air, he was seen running towards a bylane and more gunshots rang out. At least four gunshots were heard in the video.
The video correlated with another cellphone video, purportedly shot in the same area, which showed a protester falling from what appeared to be a gunshot injury. Before he fell, a police officer, presumably the one from the first video who was firing, was seen emerging from behind a bus.

The protester, Ajaz, a student at Jamia University, was admitted to Delhi's Safdarjung hospital.
