Frustrated BCCI gives ultimatum to Mohsin Naqvi: Trophy will be in Mumbai in two days or matter gets escalated

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to escalate the ongoing Asia Cup trophy handover dispute at the International Cricket Council’s quarterly meeting. Reports suggest that the matter will be a central point of BCCI’s agenda in the meeting that will be held on November 4. Notably, it has been more than a month since India won the 2025 edition of the tournament, and the trophy remains undelivered till now.

The BCCI joint secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the board’s intention to raise the matter at the ICC meeting while expressing optimism that the trophy would reach the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai imminently.

Speaking to PTI video in an exclusive interaction, Saikia articulated the board’s dissatisfaction with the prolonged delay. “Yes, we are a little bit unhappy with the way the trophy has not been being given to us even after a month,” he stated.

The BCCI has been actively pursuing the matter through official channels. “We are pursuing this matter. About 10 days ago, we also wrote a letter to the chairman of ACC, but there is no change in their stand,” Saikia revealed.

Despite the impasse, Saikia expressed hope for an imminent resolution: “They are still keeping the trophy under their custody, but we hope that the trophy will reach us in a day or two at the BCCI office in Mumbai.” However, he made it clear that if the handover does not materialize soon, the matter would be formally tabled at next week’s ICC meetings in Dubai.

The only thing that’s getting escalated is the Chittar in Naqvi’s hand to smash on the head of SuryaKumar who refused to take the trophy

Lol my friend, I can quote dozen of your posts from this very thread which went horribly wrong...may be you are trying to clean of stains of your fake propaganda too...and instead of letting him clean your trophy, you should have sacked him as promised.

But no worries, I always knew you were helpless and bragging... Hopefully trophy will be home before 2026 😉

As I said we don't take trophy matter seriously because we have enough trophy. He is serving PCB as an Indian agents.

During his tenure Pakistan record in ICC/ACC event's

World T20 2024 - Lost to USA and india, crashed out from group stages .

ICC champion trophy 2025 at home - Winless throughout the tournament and ended bottem of the table .

Asia cup - 3 humiliating loss against India ,

What's more we need from him ?

What do you want us to do? Manhandle an old man and forcefully take the trophy off his hands? That trophy is useless. We already won. Have your team phainty not once not twice but THREE TIMES IN A ROW 😅

They are trying to to cope, they lost thrice to India so their only copy me hanism is that Naqvi stole the trophy for. Few days, they are in desperation

But acc president changes every couple of years its not pcb

Bcb can refuse doesnt mean bcci is begging them

Its bccis duty to provide security to all teams, no begging there, most teams visit and play in India, Bangladesh cricket team isn’t anything vital
