Players refusing to sign autographs

Just to correct a few on here. Some of the players, the likes of Sarfaraz Ahmed etc were happy to sign autographs, pose for pictures at both matches. So it was NOT a management decision to stop the players.

Yea I think they were just over cautious about protocol and didn't want to go breaking/bending any rules.

On the other hand - if they had decided to gone ahead and give the young fan an autograph- I would have completely supported that - just like I am sure many on this forum would have done - and would have completely seen why they were happy to do so for a young fan

No point in judging anyone based on such a vague narration of a nothing incident in my opinion.

It is protocol if it was something ALL the players were doing.

Rules - what rules are you on about? Rules apply to ALL players not just some. If ALL the players had refused to sign then that would have been a rule.

Judging. Nobody is judging anyone apart from you getting on your high horse just because a player has been criticised for behaving like an idiot.

Nothing incident. Maybe to you it was sat at home with no clue as to what actually happened. I'm sure it wasn't a nothing incident to the young kid and her family who looked very irritated and annoyed at what happened.

Was at the game yesterday, players like mohd aamir, hafeez, hasan ali, ahmed shehzad gave out autographs. Azhar ali was probably the best as he spent the most time outside in the balcony giving autographs. Looked genuinely humble to be honest. Hafeez denied to take a picture by using someone else's phone as he politely declined the request by saying its not allowed by their management but was willing to take a selfie if the man held the phone in his own hand. Sarfaraz did not sign any autographs as he wasnt out in the balcony room but there was a funny moment when one pf the girls called him sarfaraz uncle during the warmup session and he immediately looked back and mockingly asked the spectators to calm it down before it laughing it out with his team mates on beinh called an uncle. The team mates made sure he felt embarrassed on being called that lol. Honestly all players were kind enough to sign autographs.

The only player who looked out of sorts and absolutely arrogant was azhar mahmood. Honestly i dont understand the likes of these oldies like waqar and azhar. Why so much attitude?

Boohoo. A little kid did not get an autograph and her parents were upset about it. I'm sure she'll learn that you can't get everything in life and sometimes things don't turn out the way you want them too. So you see, the player was actually teaching her an important life lesson.

In all seriousness, it would have been nice if the player gave her the autograph. It's always nice to see celebrities interacting with their fans and being kind. However, we're all human beings and we all have days when we're annoyed and the last thing we want to do is interact with strangers. No crime was committed and as some people have said, this was likely a one-off.

Not trying to justify of what happened, but with experience I can tell you, the cricketers(Pakistani) are under watch all the time and esp in England where all the tormenting happened half a decade plus ago, I'm sure a story could generate from anywhere, In December when the Team was in Sydney, I met Rahat and Sohail Khan, had lunch with them , when I went to pay for the meal, Sohail immediately stopped me and said bhaii, yahan hum sash ko dek raha hai, please aisaaa na kar, he even made me have the first bite of the meal for assure themselves that there is nothing in the meal that could damage them, " imagine, but they paid for the meal and i sat with them for a good half hour, very humble but immensely scared, I think thats one of the reason they do not perfrom n so well , because they're all locked up inside their rooms, and the environment is hostile it seems.

I havent met too many cricketers but I did meet the 1996 england touring team and they shook our hands etc but wanted to get to the dressing room quickly, where I saw amir sohail immediatley light up a cigarette. Then Wasim came out and signed a load of autographs for some 6-7 year olds but didnt feel the need to stop and take some photos with us. He was pretty rude and arrogant, eventually gave us a photo as if he was a king or something. Ijaz Ahmad was ok. Overall during the 90's the Pak team had a reputation of being arrogant, clubbers who couldnt care less about the fans! Unless they were in pakistan where they knew if they didnt give fans some attention a beat down was on its way lol..

Imran khan signed his autobiography for me and he was ok..made time for all the fans etc.. plus he came to our school and was pretty humble..

Havent met any of the new lot, but my friend went to the WC in australia and just walked into the south african dressing room lol..Pretended to act lost and AB invited him in lol...

Oh and they also had dinner with Chris Gayle the night before an important game and lets just say he was a more then mildly inebriated lol

When they are coach they have to act tough or else desis will take advantage of them. You want a bit of fear and respect for your coach.

Safraz, imad and amir had taken pictures at the warm up game. Just saw some of them uploaded on facebook

And?

That's what I said, some players did do that, so it was not a rule that players couldn't, which is what some are saying on here.

It seems Pakistani players are reading pakpassion and decided to give autograph in second warmup game or maybe second game got washed out and they had nothing else to do...

Yeh thats what im saying.

Because people are saying that there must be some ruling placed by pcb, but as the player took selfies with others its clear to suggest no rulling as such was in place.

Thanks for the clarifications Saj, I agree with you; the player should have given the autograph there
