The Nooras accused the PPP of buying votes and the PPP have struck back with their own Video, accusing Nooras of doing the same . What's funny is that these 2 set of crooks have always been the same and if IK wasn't around this would be the level of these thugs. No wonder EVMs pose such a threat to the mafia

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry in reaction to a viral video of voters being allegedly bribed ahead of Lahore's NA-133 by-election, has asked whether "buying votes for Rs2,000" is how respect is accorded to the vote.

His remarks, during a rally in Pind Dadan Khan, Jhelum, were in reference to the PML-N mantra "vote ko izzat do", meaning "respect the vote".

The war for votes between PML-N and PPP in Lahore's NA-133, where a by-election is due on December 5, has gone beyond the constituency to social media, where a viral video appeared to show voters being bribed by party members.

Both parties have blamed each other's workers for the alleged move.

"Is buying votes for Rs2,000 respecting the vote?" Chaudhry asked.

He accused PML-N of contesting the elections with the lure of money.

"PML-N won the 1990 general election of 1990 through rigging", the minister added.

He said that the PTI is currently focusing its energies on the local government elections.

"We are not worried about the next general elections. Currently [our] focus is on the local government elections," Chaudhry said.

He said that the PTI will complete the current tenure and claim victory in the next general election as well.

The information minister went on to say that PML-N and PPP "become the most panicky" whenever there's talk of introducing electronic voting machines.

While referring to the ongoing controversy regarding the recently leaked audio clip allegedly featuring former chief justice Saqib Nisar, Chaudhry said that "whenever a case against PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif or PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz is scheduled for hearing, something is leaked".

"PML-N should start making films instead of [participating in] politics," the minister said, in further criticism.

Chaudhry said that the state's institutions cannot be blackmailed and that "PML-N doesn't have any choice except for providing receipts or going to jail".

Speaking about PPP, the minister said that the party "doesn't have votes anywhere else except for interior Sindh".

"PPP is no more the party Benazir Bhutto formed. It is the party of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari," he added.

Meanwhile, Sindh government spokesperson Barrister Murtaza Wahab reacted to Chaudhry's statement about PPP, saying that Sindh's ruling party is a "people's party and its popularity can be gauged by the by-election [results]".

"The world knows on whose crutches PTI stands," said Wahab, adding that the "incompetent" government doesn't have any roots.

He asked how long the "selected government" will keep engaging in mudslinging when it comes to its opponents.

"At the moment, the government has failed miserably in every field," Wahab said.

PTI spokespersons should accept that their departure has become certain, he added.

Wahab went on to say that the people are affected by the "worst form of inflation" due to the government's "incompetence".

"The day is not far when this incompetent rule will be toppled," he added.

"True democracy will rule the country with the PPP coming into power," he said.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of a viral video purportedly showing that voters in Lahore’s NA-133 constituency were being given bribe ahead of the by-polls.

The by-elections in the constituency, which has been devoid of representation in the National Assembly after the demise of PML-N Lahore chapter’s central leader Pervez Malik, are scheduled to be held on December 5.

On Sunday, the returning officer sent a notice to the Lahore commissioner and the Punjab police chief, seeking their help in identifying the individuals in the video.

The notice was also served to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) chairman and the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) chairman, wherein the ECP directed the authorities concerned to submit the inquiry report by November 30.

The ECP has directed the authorities concerned to conduct forensic of the viral footage, ascertain the identity and collect complete bio data of the suspects.

It also directed the officials to identify the place where money was allegedly being distributed to buy votes.

The leaked video triggered a war of words between the two opposition parties with PML-N accusing PPP of buying loyalties of their voters.

“PPP should stop luring people ahead of the by-elections which they cannot win,” PML-N leader Ali Pervaiz Malik said in a tweet.

PPP central Punjab's general secretary Syed Hasan Murtaza hit back at PML-N, saying “the PML-N is paying respect to money instead of vote in NA-133 elections”.

He added that his party will compete with PML-N in the by-poll through “its ideology instead of using money”.

Ruling PTI Senator Ejaz Chaudhary in a tweet said that the dubious video has “exposed the true face of the PML-N”.

"This is why they [PML-N] are against EVMs (electronic voting machines)," he added.

Earlier this month, the ECP had said that no proposal was under consideration to postpone the NA-133, Lahore by-election.

An ECP spokesperson said in a statement that the by-election would be held in NA-133 on December 5, as per schedule.

However, "if the situation changes, the ECP may take further action in this regard", he concluded.

The Punjab Home Department had written a letter to the ECP for the postponement of NA-133 by-election, citing security situation as the reason.

The ECP is even more crooked than these 2 organisations. It failed on the Gilani vote buying corruption which [MENTION=131701]Mamoon[/MENTION] celebrated. Why did you celebrate such a corrupt act, and why did you call for IK to resign after the vote

It's the reason these crooks don't want overseas PK to vote. They know we won't sell PKs future for 2000 rps. It also shows why the Nooras win so many votes in Punjab. Vote ki izzat do, my backside

So a single vote is worth a miserable 2000 rupees. What a joke!

It is ironic they make poor people swear on Quran to commit a gunah (sin).

Vote ko izzat dou Quaid e Azam k sang.

This is reality of these crooked so called democratic warriors.

Ironically none of the champions of democracy believe in any democracy in their parties and have all their 2nd and 3rd generations read to take over ahead of seasoned politicians with decades of experience. Really feel sorry for their followers who are gullible enough to be fooled by them.
