Okay so our batting looks fine. We need to pick 1 international batsman so that we can have 7 batsmen for FCs - don't think we need more than 1 because 5/6 of our batsmen (6 if you add the legend that is cric_craze) are active and will play all games anyway. And in LOIs we won't be playing more than 6 bats. Preferably we go for a leftie international bat as we only have 2 lefties vs 4 righties right now.

Apart from that, I think we change iPakistani to an offspinner, and Andy to a RF/RFM, as these 3 pacers are active (Andy, Mir, KING) and should play every game. An offie will give us another spinner to partner Smudger.

For the remaining 3 internationals, we could go for 2 all-rounders for LOIs (and maybe even one of them could be used for a FC game on a spicy wicket). Maybe a pacer who is a bowling A/R and a pure A/R who is a spinner?

For the last international player, we can go for a pure bowler - either a spinner or pacer.

Ideally we have 4 pace bowling options and 4 spin bowling options in the squad by the end of this, so that we have our bases covered on any type of wicket (including Dry pitch - something PZ lacked in the PSL).

Yes we should that imo. It worked well for PZ and even Islamabad's batting heavy strategy was somewhat successful.

Of course, the regular players will then get preference when it comes to boosts (unless we really wanna turn some of our diamond bats into platinum bats on a batting strip, for example). So everyone will have good batting skills at some point

With the whole boost situation I think it's a bit more tricky. I think in T20 format (and maybe even OD) definitely 3 diamonds to bat should work. However, in longer formats we need a strong bowling unit.

We have 15 matches (5 for each format) and 30 boosts to use. So basically on average we can use 2 boosts per match.

If we discard T20 (i.e. we don't use any boosts for that format). Then I agree we should go for 3 diamond bats and 1 diamond bowler and basically mainly boost bowlers / ARs and when needed an extra batsman.

Otherwise, we should probably go for a more balanced approach of 2 diamond bats and 2 diamond bowlers - probably will give more flexibility in terms of boosts?

I think I agree with not using any boosts for T20Is. We can reassess that at mid-season, but for now I think focus on Tests and ODIs and go batting heavy, using boosts primarily for bowlers.

I think if we don’t use boosts in T20 than in FC we should play 3 bowl and 1 AR (and double boost the AR (which counts as 2 boosts)) that’s why I think we should have the flexibility of it being either spinner or pacer.

I agree with Doc. I think if we could go for an all pace attack though if the conditions permit. So, on a spicy pitch we could drop Ajmal and that means Andy can still play.
