Imran Khan (c)
Shane Warne
Wasim Akram

To me by a whisker pre-1980 team will win.The trumpcards are Sobers,Bradman and Viv Richards. In effect the greatest all-rounder,greatest batsmen and most intimidating batsmen of all bunched together.Pre-1980 has marginally stronger middle-order batting with a better opening pair and a middle order batting combination more potent than post-1980 team.Post-1980 has a better bowling attack with more variety in Warne,Wasim ,Marshall ,Imran and Warne .With Gilchrist post-1980 would have a greater wicket keeper batsmen in Adam Gilchrist who was arguably the best match-winner of his day.Pre-1980 has a better all-rounder combination very marginally with Sobers and Miller just edging Imran and Kallis or Botham. Post-1980 has marginally more bating depth.Dennis Lillee's inclusion will have major impact on the pre-1980 team, who was arguably the most complete paceman of them all.

My verdict-Pre-1980 will win by 1-2 wickets or 10-16 runs.Proves the class of cricket in the 1970's with superstars like Gavaskar,Viv,Barry and Lillee.

Virtual dead-heat.Chose Akram because of more variation and natural talent who would be more difficult to play.Who do you feel will win?

McGrath has a better record and has much more control than Akram. McGrath has more ability and maintains a tighter line. McGrath is just the better bowler, Akram is a brilliant bower but McGrath is just better.

Pakpassion viewers please respond realy waiting for comments. It is a challenging debate.

If it was in England you would want Trueman. Elsewhere, Lindwall.

I might suggest LEG Ames for keeper as his batting was excellent but with all that batting above him Knott makes sense too.

On a turning wicket, drop a quick and bring in Grimmett or O’Reilly. Sobey can be third spinner or bowl his swingers depending on match conditions.

If we compare every position in both teams you will find better ipeners in pre 1980s , equuvalent middle order with 80s team being slightly ahead and much better lower order.
In terms of bowling i am certain that irrespective of what some senior posters think here pre 1980 team is no match to post 1980 team.
So there is no chance for pre 1980 team to win and at most can get away with a draw.
Also richards can come in 80s with kallis moved up as an opener and that would certainly kill any chances.
However irrespective of all a 5vmatch series in any conditions would result in 2-0 or 3-0 win for post 80s and only with great luck can pre 80 ream ein.
