What's new

Predict Pakistan's Test ranking by the end of 2018

I don't see them getting into the top 4 for a long time.

I think they will hover around the 6, 7 or 8 position.

I'd say they'd hit top 4, we're not a bad team at all. We've got some world class players.

Pak can't beat Aus. Australia are flat track bullies, they will nullify Yasir Shah on UAE pitches. They might be able to beat NZ. win or draw against Sri Lanka

Tour- will lose to UK, SAF. Probably win against WI, win or draw against Ban.

Why you are so negative about everything regarding Pakistan Cricket?

Everything? I don't think so.

What is there to be proud of at the moment or cheer about? Rankings of 6, 7 and 8. Thrashing in NZ, thrashing in Australia. Recent Test defeat to West Indies. Struggling to qualify for the World Cup.

Yes brilliant. That's lots to be proud of.

Under Misbah we will be rank 8 or 9 by 2018 mean 2nd or 3rd from bottom

Pakistan have some easy tours coming up this year followed by two tough ones next year.

They can break into the top 3 if they do the transition really well. If Misbah and Younis hang on too long however...

Depends who the captain is and who the replacements are for Younis and Misbah.

If the captaincy is given to Azhar and PCB inducts folks like Fawad Alam or Umar Akmal in the side then we may even slide further down the rankings.

If the captaincy is given to Sarfaraz or Amir and Haris Sohail and Usman Salahuddin are inducted then we may even rise up the table.

I think if Misbah decides to stick around, then Pak might be no 1 at the end of 2018, as teams will stop inviting dull Pak test team, and lucky Pak will be playing all its matches at UAE:misbah4

#1. Top of the pack. Possessors of the mace.

With guys like Sami, Babar, Azhar, Shafiq, Amir, Junaid, Shah forming the core and being ably supported by some exciting new talent, Pakistan has a great chance to beat England and South Africa next year.
