Pakistan is coming into this series on the back of a disappointing Champions Trophy campaign, where they faced defeats on home soil. On the other hand, New Zealand, who were finalists in the same tournament, will be high on confidence.

Pakistan’s T20 squad has a fresh look, with several new faces and the surprising exclusion of star players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Will the young guns step up, or will New Zealand’s experience and form give them the upper hand? What’s your prediction for the 5-match series?
 
The biggest issue with this squad is Salman Ali Agha. He's no different from babar or Rizwan.

Best 11 imo is

1) Hasan Nawaz
2) Muhammad Haris
3) Usman Khan
4) Salman Ali Agha
5) Shadab Khan
6) Abdul Samad
7) Niazi
8) Shaheen
9) Rauf
10) Ali
11) Abrar/Sufiyan

Saim took 33 international innings before he managed a good knock of 98 vs SA and 3 super centuries in odi cricket.

The main thing is intent. You can improve your skills via match practise but if your intent and attitude are non existent then nothing can be done.

And babar and rizwan have taken an oath to avoid aggressive cricket at all costs followed by Abdullah, Imam, saud and many others.

This side is going to get stomped but it has potential. Fakhar is old now but I firmly believe that after saim returns this is the side that needs to move forward, however Agha needs to go.

A future side of

1) Saim Ayub
2) Hassan Nawaz
3) Hussain Talat
4) Haider Ali( Idkw pcb has excluded him, he's been fire on current form, Way better then agha in t20 and honestly on current form he's a much better batsmen then Tayyab, Niazi and many others)

7) Shadab Khan (C)
8) Wasim Jnr
9) Haris Rauf
10) Ali( On current form he looks good but idk if he's international quality, if not I wouldn't mind shaheen to stick around in t20)

13) Maaz Sadaqat (Better then nawaz but hasan nawaz is better in current form)

^^ I firmly believe this should be the squad that gets groomed for the next 5 to 7 years.

I don't like shadab but he has a good cricketing acumen and Sarfraz at one point wanted him to be VC with Imad wasim as captain but that never came to be.

Shadab so far won champions cup and psl deapite not having the strongest team, he even managed to win once against a full strength Afghanistan despite having a rubbish squad in which Pakistan were expecting a 3-0 bloodbath.

Anyway regardless, the squad isn't bad, however they need to replace Agha for Haider Ali, and replace Niazi for Hussain talat who i firmly believe is a better batsmen.

I firmly believe this should be the squad in t20 and listen to my reasoning.

1) Saim ayub= before injury he finally found his stride. He had

A) a brilliant 98 vs SA, should have gotten a t20 century.

B) A solid attacking odi knock vs Aus and Zimb which showed he can attack like fakhar and take up his mantle

C) A patient knock of 109 of 119 which showcases that he can slow down if wickets fall, rebuild ans then catchup with rr.

This kid can attack from the get go but also be an accumulator with a 5th gear if the situation calls for it.

2) Hassan Nawaz: the standards of the Champions cup aren't high, however hes shown a decent technique and an intent to open at a 140 to 150 SR and he did outperform many of his international peers like farhan, Khsudil, imam( who was hilarious in that t20 tournament lol). He can be worked on and can become a quality wk batsmen.

In terms of talent, he's a better talent then both usman khan and Haris who i view as sloggers with hackish techniques.

3/4) Hussain Talat + Haider ali: on current form, these 2 are our best domestic batters. Their clearly > KG, Saud, Tayyab, Niazi, Agha(t20) and many others in whiteball

5) Abdul Samad (He's fine for t20 at 5, don't mind sloggers)

6/7) Masood and Shadab (Dont know about masood but shadab has a good cricketing brain as captain, otherwise I don't like him as a player)

8-11) Wasim Jnr is a much better bowler then husnain and cal slog a few. Shaheen and Rauf are fine for t20 and abrar/sufiyan are fine as well

I'm supporting this team now that Babar and rizwan are out. I'm still not a fan of Agha being in a t20 side when he's not a t20 player but khair hai.

What is Agha doing in a t20 side let alone captaining it? He can't even play domestic t20 properly?

Haider Ali amd Hussain talat are much better players in t20 then agha.
 
4-1 newzealand is expected result, 3-2 series loss is good outcome for new pakistan team..3-2 series victory is excellent performance, 4-1 is extraordinary..5-0 is next to impossible..
 
Given that New Zealand is missing several key players to the IPL, this could be an ideal opportunity for Pakistan to assert their dominance over the Kiwis in their own backyard. A victory in the away series would not only strengthen the team's confidence but also be a significant boost for the youngsters, instilling a strong sense of belonging to the international stage.

I expect Pakistan to win the T20I series 3-2 and the Odi series 3-0.
 
The squad NZ picked most definitely would wipe Pakistan 5-0 with RizBar playing

I don’t really care now. I’m looking for certain things to develop in this team and it’s approach. As long as I can see those improvements, don’t really care what the final score is. It’s not the ICC T20 World Cup 5 match v New Zealand

This NZ ‘B’ team is head and shoulders above the young squad we have picked. Pretty much everyone has international experience, while we are throwing these young players to the wolves in SENA conditions.

NZ should win 5-0 or 4-1, there is hardly any meaningful experience in this Pakistan side. I’m chuffed though that Babar and Rizwan have been thrown out, we had to start somewhere.

I don't know bro maybe because in your young years at PP you've portrayed RizBar as the main problems in T20s. Now that they're out it would be nice if you'd show support to the team.

Anyways, good squad selection. Inclusion of Fakhar will make it stronger of course, at least till the next T20 WC.

Hussain Talat and Haider Ali, I'm not expecting much from either. Both have been tried and tested in the past and have been let downs. If they're our best domestic batters then I'm not sure about the quality of the young lads coming through. Hopefully with the national t20 and PSL coming up we have some standout performers.

Big test for Muhammad Ali and Abrar Ahmed. They need to stop Finn Allen

He murdered Pakistan’s first team last time
 
The top order should be told that Saim and Fakhar will slot into the team, they need to play in a way that makes the management think that they are the better options instead of Saim and Fakhar, not Babar and Rizwan.

If the pressure is to keep Babar and Rizwan out, then it’s not going to work I’m afraid.
 
Dont worry about outcome in terms of wins and losses. Lets look at player development, intent, selflessness and attitude.

We are at the early stages of a rebuild and hopefully a rebrand. Focussing on wins and losses isn't the aim at the moment.

He had a decent PSL last time around - has shown some series guts in tests and ODIs.

His international stats are poor in T20 but its a very small sample size. One big knock and everything will look fine.

I think he could turn into a good skipper.

160 gives you a chance. We don’t want a chance anymore. We don’t want to depend on luck and hope anymore.
 
You struggle to bat and score runs in the middle overs.

So then take the initiative in your own hands now and recover those lost runs when you have the opportunity with only 2 fielders out.

Score those extra 20-40 runs you have been leaving out when you can! Get them now before it’s too late.

His stats are poor in local/domestic t20 as well excluding PSL which i don't take seriously.

Typically your Domestic t20, List A and Fc stats paint a picture of how well you'll perform in international.

Babar before his debut averaged 50+ in List A but was hovering just over 40 in fc. And these stats are reflected in his international career where while he struggles in odi since his form slump, he can still somewhat score 50+ against certain attacks while he's a circus clown in test cricket.

Agha in List A and FC was always a solid performer, Infact if you look at some old threads before his debut, many wanted him to come into the side as they felt that he'd be the answer to our pseudo allrounder problems during Mickey's era and they were proven right since he's clearly > Chacha, Imad, Shadab, Nawaz and many others.

But he was always a clown in t20. Ofcourse outliers exist.

Steve smith before his international debut had horrible numbers with the bat, i fact he was a legspinner lol, but he ended up becoming the greatest test batsmen of all time excluding Bradman.

So who knows, but I doubt agha will be that outlier.

This New Zealand team does not have Philips, Santner or Ravindra . Bracewell is mediocre in T20's. Neesham is also way past it.

Not a balanced squad.
 
Posters are delusional if you think King Bobby doesn't make the T20 side for Pakistan.

As if there are Viv Richards and AB DeVilliers waiting to replace him in domestic :lol

5-0 Pakistan.. Anything less is a failure. Pakistan are cornered and they will play like tigers.

Mohammad Harris is way better than Hassan Nawaz. He dominated Rabada and Lockie in Aus as a rookie ! No one in Pakistan except Saim and Fakhar can do that let alone Hassan Nawaz. Hassan Nawaz has potential. His vertical bat shots are good but he struggles against short pitch bowling. You will see that in NZ. Technically, even Omair Yousuf is a better option. Hassan is better than Harris against spin though. If Harris can improve his game against spin and if he can improve his offside game (pointed out by M Yousuf), he is opening for me in ODIs and T20Is.

Hussain Talat is a domestic bully. Talent wise, he is worse than Shan Masood ! Against decent pace, most of his shots are behind square. There is a reason why he was exposed at International level. Salman Agha is many times better than him and Niazi is better than Agha in T20s!

Saad Masood is too inexperienced to even consider.

5 - 0 to NZ which is fine ... we still have 11 months to prepare a team for T20 WC .... a beating will teach you a lesson a winning never will.
 
since babar and rizwan are not playing so i can safely say that maybe 3-2 in the favour of NZ otherwise it could have been 5-0 for sure
 
I am thinking Pakistan might win this one as NZ might be resting some of their main players and will be trying out some young players. I still think NZ will be strong at home but it will be a touch series.

Pakistan faced their b team and kiwis defeated them. What makes you think that this new Pakistani team is gonna beat kiwis???
 
It's tough to know anything with so many younger players in the mix.

My guess is 4-1 for NZ.

The goal has to be on development and giving players international exposure while working on a mindset change. That's what matters more than just winning these games. If they do this and lose 4-1 or 5-0 then it's still a step in the right direction especially if the matches are competitive.
