With the likes virat kohli, root, williamson, taylor, smith, pujara, warner , anderson, broad, steyn, ashwin, yasir, cummins, boult etc having dominated the 2010s. They will most likely not churn out similar preformance for the next half of the decade and other young cricketers will step up.
Thus predict the 2020 test world XI. Heres mine:
1. Mayank agarwal= Even though he isnt as young as the others he has impressed in the few matches he has played so far, dominating both at home and away against austrailia. He seems to be a little weak against swing shown by his dismal england and nz tours but he can overcome that.
2.Shubman gill=Has been hyped up to the moon and rightly so with a solid technique and excellent first class average. Can turn out to be a very good batsmen if he meets even half of the hype and potential.
3.Marnus labushagne=Dominating series against england, nz, and pak have already displayed his ability but it remains to he seen wether he can also dominate in asian conditions.
4.Babar azam=Has been on a remarkable upward career trajectory with impressive preformances against austrailia and england. A dominating tour of nz will settle his position as one of the leading batsmen in the world.
5.Ben stokes=He still has it in him to play for another 7 years or so and at the moment no other allrounder bar jason holder comes close to him.
6.Ollie pope=With a reamarkable first class average and a good start to his career, he will only get more and more consistent.
7.Quinton de cock/Muhammahd rizwan= Quinton de cock cannot be ignored as he is an impact player who can change the course of the match in a matter of minutes while rizwan has also shown potential and can be relied upon to protect and bat with the tail.
8.Shadab khan= Really needs to be given more of a consistent chance to show his worth. Has preformed in the chances he has got atleast in test matches and has shown improvements to his batting.
9.Kagiso rabada=Is excellent on bouncy and pacy wickets and also did well in the ipl this year. Only needs to make a mark in spin friendly conditions.
10. Shaheen afridi/jofra archer=Both have different set of skillsets and abilities. On his day jofra can easily crank up the pace and run through lineups while shaheen is much younger and can overtake every bowler in the next couple of years.
11=Jasprit bumrah=Has been brilliant in the few amount of matches he has played so far leading india to their first test series win in austrailia. Is in some sort of form slump right now but can easily make a comback
