England are back in the shorter format.

Khawaja is opening and Aus have won the toss. :)

Brett Lee is also back.
 
over cast conditions ajmal has a good outswinger and khawaja poor against outswingers
 
Looks like a pretty crap England team for once, but it might win anyway.

I think it's the Ashes.

I'd rather do what we win in 1992: win the World Cup and the test series in England :)

I'm sure a lot of England fans would say the Ashes, because of the way test cricket is revered in this country - but let's not be greedy now, we have won 3 of them in the last 6 years :warne

We've never won a 50-over World Cup, so let's have one of them next!

that said i'm going to give this game a pass because there isn't much liquidity in the market so that makes it difficult to trade out a winning position. As you know, i do like a u-turn

Fair enough but how much harder is to beat the markets on a test match rather than an LOI?
 
Great chance for Usman to prove the selectors who didn't keep him in the 30 probables wrong.

test matches are far easier to make money because the market always over estimates the chances of the respective results early on. The NZ vs Pak test was a perfect example. NZ were 2.36 at the start. 10 overs later while everyone on here, you included, were slitting their wrists over the toothless Pak bowling, NZ touched 1.94 and that's when I did my first u-turn. Think about it, these were two evenly(ish) matched teams and one of them was 50 odd runs for one wicket on DAY ONE of a FIVE Day test and yet they were trading at odds-on. Absolute madness. Of course NZ could have gone to win from that position but if you can lay an average team like NZ at short prices like 1.94 on Day 1 of a five day test you will make money in the long run. I made a mess of my last u-turn but i still made £30 on the game for my trouble. I was a tad unlucky not to come out of that game with a +£200 profit

with ODI games the market is much more accurate. There's less value to be found imo

winning at betting is not about picking winners, it's finding the value and knowing how to stake correctly

EDIT: of course the other way to win at betting is to have some players in your pocket :butt

This game will be won by England for sure. Good conditions for bowling and a lively pitch. That's inside information. :warne.

Don't know who Woakes is.

Luke Wright is donk. Don't know why they keep picking him - it's spurring him on as well, he reckons he can become a test cricketer for England :facepalm:

Are you serious? You don't know Chris Woakes? He's meant to be potentially leading England's future bowling attack.
 
Haven't followed the domestic game for the last couple of years. Totally lost interest.

Canberra must be the worst capital city ever. Is there anything there? Surprised there's even a cricket ground.
 
A Harmisonesque wide from Woakes, but a good over otherwise.
 
Woakes plays for Warwickshire, they love him around here.

England IMO may well be in the last 4of the World Cup.
 
Aus players to watch are Copeland (f/c bowling average under 20), Pattinson (best young pace prospect at the moment) and Alex Keath (all rounder just starting his career).

This game of course means utterly nothing.
 
Shahzad produced a pretty good first over. It's a very inexperienced bowling attack, but our batting lineup is pretty strong so it shouldn't matter.

Khawaja gone and his hopes of getting a chance for the national side in ODIs before the world cup.
 
That's five innings in a row against us where Khawaja has blown it. Five out of five. I know he's lovely and everyone wants him to do well, but it's worth pointing out that his performances have not actually been that great...
 
Khwaja hasn't done well against England but he has plenty of years to take England bowlers apart and he will do it. Apart from Hussey he is the most solid batsmen in Australia.
 
Of course, there is more than enough in his attitude and technique to suggest that he will score a bucketload of runs for Australia...but just saying it as I see it up to this point - for a massively hyped player, he doesn't do a heck of a lot!

Gladstone Small on comm box. Seen him at the chippy last summer, he really doesn't have a neck.

Haddin plays like a millionaire. Looks good when he comes off, but looks terrible when he is out flashing at a ball when we need to occupy the crease and grind it out. It is terrible for team morale and discipline when a senior player gets out in this way when we need to knuckle down.

We don't need an Afridi who cannot curb his natural game.

Now our team is struggling, the times when we are going to be 4 for 450 will be limited, and we need someone more dependable and displined than Haddin.

We also need a skipper for the future. Paine is the future.
 
That ball from Lee to Pietersen cheered me up. Get this back guy in the ODI and T20 sides for Aus now. He didn't bowl anywhere as badly as his figures suggest, I watched the game.
