A lot of people coming up against Sarfraz (Which is right, considering his form) and Mickey. Let's not forget that under Misbah and the previous coaches, we were losing test matches to Zimbabwe and ODI's as well. Sri Lanka were thrashing us more often than not (Bar Afridi specials) and even West Indies were giving us a tough time.

We all want better but I see some Misbah fans pretending this team has gone backwards since MA took over and kicked out Misbah. It hasn't, Misbah took us to our worst ever period in history and was a Coward in Mohali.

No doubt that this team is an upgrade on Misbahs team however we still have some way to go to compete against top teams consistently. The potential is there for everyone to see and this is a developing team but we as fans are so impatient that we want everything to happen in a jiffy. The core of this team is pretty much there barring Sarfaraz, he really needs to pull up socks and get his act together otherwise I can't see him lasting long but something tells me that he would just be fine come the world cup next year. I am more than hopeful that we will be among the top three ranked teams going in to the world cup next year.

Sarfraz competition is not Misbah but Mike Brearly types of captains.

The only reason being that people consider him best Pakistani captain since Imran Khan. If you want to set the benchmark that high, than you need to also show why you are rated so high. One Champions Trophy win followed by 5 progressive losses against NZ and then 2 consecutive losses against India doesn't really show that Sarfraz is 2nd to Imran.

Setting Misbah as benchmark is poor as it comes.

I doubt anyone ever compared sarfaraz with Imran Khan. Imran khan as Ian Chappell puts it was more a leader than a captain. Someone who could command respect not only from his own team mates but from the opposition team too. Sarfaraz on the other hand has no such traits. However , having said that this doesn't make Sarfaraz a total dud as a captain. He has his own pros and cons as every other captain out there. He is a street smart cricketer and he backs in instincts more often than not but these days he appears to go through the motions more often and lose it completely when going gets slightly tough. It could probably be down to his bad form playing on his mind. I am sure his captaincy would improve if he starts delivering with bat. I however have never been a fan of his wicket keeping. We sadly have no option but to stick with him till the world cup as we don't have a replacement as we never bothered to develop one.

Misbah was the worst thing happen to Pakistan limited overs cricket. No one can be worse than him. Sarfraz with all his flaws is still a better captain as compared to Misbah. Misbah should never be the bench mark.

Misbah had the services of a pre-15 degree prime Ajmal, Hafeez and an in form Afridi and an inform Junaid Khan and Mohd Irfan. You give these players to Sarfaraz and watch him look even more impressive.

The only thing I can give to Misbah was his calm demeanour under pressure but have seen him gift the match to the opposition with his unimaginative one dimensional captaincy many times.

If you compare Sarfraz to Misbah in LO of course he will look great. But Misbah isn't our only LO captain. Why do Sarfrazs fans always need to bring Misbah captaincy into the discussion? Misbah is the 1 who backed Sarfraz after he had been rubbish in previous international games .

Sarfraz has a lot work on and I honestly don't see his performances improving massively with the bat and his keeping is average. The more he struggles with his own performance, the more his captaincy will be exposed. Unfortunately he will captain us till the WC so we have to just sit back and watch.

Lol you have cornered Sarfraz best-captain-ever-brigade into corner they can't escape. Lovely stuff.

Lesson to learn: never overhype a player beyond his skills.
