The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is set to host Match 5 of PSL 2025 tonight, April 14, as Islamabad United take on Peshawar Zalmi at 8:00 PM PKT in what promises to be a thrilling contest under the lights.

Islamabad are off to a solid start, while Peshawar will be desperate to bounce back after a heavy opening loss to Quetta. Can Babar’s men regroup and respond, or will Shadab’s United keep their momentum going?

Players I'm interested to watch

United: Shehzad, Haider, & Saad.
Zalmi: Saim, Raza, Mehran, Daniyal.

I am this close to giving up on Haris, he just doesn't have the talent to try playing the way he's playing right now.

I gave up on Haris him 3 years ago. He is a hack despite being given all kind of opportunities national and international, but including captaincy. Hasseb Ullah on other hand deserves lot more opportunities.

These are the illegal occupations of Pakistan cricket that should be boycotted.
 
Saim Ayub for all his praises scored 50(38) previous game....when Rizzler did it many said it was too slow and match losing even when he launched as always and ended with 100(60). Question is, will so called left handed Shewag of Pakistan now score a 50(30) or less justifying his hype? Having Babar at the other end to guide him helps. With that said I expect Islamabad to smash Peshawar. PZ is a halwa team apart from openers and both teams have joke keepers Azam Khan vs Mohammad Harris, how low our backup keeping stocks have fallen from times of Moin and Latif.
 
I can't wait for seal azam khan to jump and dive. He is a good comic relief.

It's always fun to watch him do that.

The fact that this guy played in a Pakistan shirt is a damning indictment of how far we have fallen as a cricketing nation. Azam should be nowhere near a club side.

You appear to be a much smarter person than I am. Would have given up too but something just keeps whispering in the back of my head that one day he'll come good. Although after watching him more now I just feel it's not his mindset but he just doesn't have the skill to play good aggressive cricket.

People see talent in Haseebullah but he has never impressed me. Don't know what people see in him, maybe I'm missing something but still.

Haseebullah is a slowpoke and has no guts or talent. He would be an upgrade over Azam Khan but my neighbourhood khala would likely be an upgrade over Azam Khan as well.

3 years ago. He debuted for Pakistan in WT20 2022 and set the stage on fire.

Interesting point in time to label the player then and there.

Saim Ayub has more talent in his left pinky than Rizwan or any other batsman in this country has in their entire body.

That may well be the case and I hope for sake of Pakistan cricket. However, that doesn't go against what I said. When Saim does it it's ok and when Rizzler does it it's criminal.

If you want to compare the two innings then Rizwan basically had zero pressure on himself and still wasted important balls in the powerplay. His final strike rate tapers over the fact that he was batting at a SR of 90-100 for a long time. Saim Ayub on the other hand played with intent throughout the entire innings but had to grapple with a constant fall of wickets and got no support from the other batsmen.

The reason people are softer on Saim then they are on Rizwan is because Riz has a long history of losing crucial T20 matches like Pak whereas Saim has just started his career.

People need to accept that Rizwan is simply not a T20 batsman and is not evolving his game at this point of his career. He shouldn't be playing any T20I for Pak going forward

That may well be the case and he better be because Rizzler is a keeper. My point was the excuses and baby gloves for Saim's "slow" innings and the vitriol for the exact same innings from Kaptaana.
 
Why isn't Short being selected?

That guy is a proper aggressive batsman and much, much better than gous

They are completely different circumstances. Rizwan was taking singles when he needed to go big. Rizwan innings cost his team the game. He was 60 odd of 50 balls with 1 wickets down that is criminal in t20s.

Big opportunity for Farhan. He needs to prove himself in this season, considering opening slots in t20 are quite open now for Pak

Not exactly 36 months but after that tournament we every time I watched him domestic or international I was disappointed. Two innings of tournament was not enuff to declare him world beater.

Why is he there if he is going to duck all the important questions? Commentators are supposed to illuminate the viewer, rather than hide and make easy, PC statements that don't offend anyone.
 
As far as the runout debate is concerned, I believe the rule is that the bails have to just be dislodged. And they would light up if they weren't dislodged.
 
Hack farhan was struggling against alzarri Joseph's pace.
Zimbo should have brought ali raza to the attack.

This guy is a beast In the recent T20 Cup, Sahibzada averaged 121 with a strike rate of 190 over 7 games, scoring 3 centuries and 2 fifties
 
These pitches won't help in his development. They have no bounce. Lowest bounce in the world
 
Farhan may have destroyed the young lad's confidence, but this is his welcome to PSL moment. It's nice to see Farhan with this confidence. Also Abdullah Shafique with Qalandars. These guys look completely different with their PSL teams

Saying that it's dumb for a fast bowler to have a short third man, because it forces the bowler to bowl it full
the point of a pacer is to use the bouncer well... so babar is just wasting Ali Raza's skills
 
The quality of bowling in Pakistan...

And they all just keep bowling wide to Farhan so he can swing his arms freely instead of bowling tight to his body which is where he struggles.
 
Sahibzada wasnt tried as an opener for Pak but in my opinion he will struggle in internationals anyways. But i do hear he is a part time keeper although seen him keep just once. But if he can keep surely he should be tried as an wicket keeper batter for Pak opener too with Saim and we have a free player. No need for Haris or Rizzy

He has good bouncer as well but he is forced to bowl him full.
Zimbo has always been awful
 
Any reason why they are not playing short?He is in Pakistan according to Instagram.
