Islamabad United Team
Rafatullah Mohmand, Dwayne Smith, Sam Billings, Brad Haddin, Misbah-ul-Haq*, Shane Watson, Shadab Khan, Amad Butt, Rumman Raees, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Irfan.

Peshawar Zalmi Team
Mohammad Hafeez, Tamim Iqbal, Kamran Akmal, Eoin Morgan, Sohaib Maqsood, Shakib al Hasan, Darren Sammy*, Shahid Afridi, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan.

Misbah won the toss and opted to field as Islamabad made three changes with Rafatullah, Amad and Rumman replacing Asif Ali, Imran Khalid and Ajmal. The reigning champions got off to a good start as Irfan and Sami bowled a couple of tight overs after which Rumman dismissed Tamim cheaply. Hafeez once again failed to make an impact as he lobbed Irfan to Misbah at mid-on while Shadab got Kamran for 19. Maqsood was caught and bowled by Sami, followed by Amad's dismissal of Shakib. Morgan top scored with 28 but was out to Shadab. Sammy made a few runs before falling to Rumman but Afridi and Wahab applied the finishing touches with the latter taking 21 off Watson's over as Peshawar finished with 136/9.

Islamabad's reply started with Hasan Ali bowling a good over followed by Junaid Khan dismissing Rafatullah after a couple of boundaries. Hasan had Haddin LBW in the next over with some smart bowling which brought Smith and Billings together once again. Smith was solid while Billings went after the bowlers after a circumspect start. The England batsman fell to Wahab as he played one shot too many and chopped it on to his stumps. Smith began to get some boundaries away but Misbah struggled and was eventually dismissed, caught in the deep off Shakib. 58 were required off the last 6 overs and Junaid's 17th over was crucial as Watson's two sixes helped to take 18 off it as the equation tilted in Islamabad's favour. Some tight bowling helped to take it right to the death as Watson was run out but Amad held his nerve to get the required single on the last ball to win the match as Smith finished on 72* off 59 balls.

This game got closer than it should have. But glad we got the victory in the end. Good steel shown by Watto, Amad, and Dr.

Peshawar fought hard despite poor captaincy by Sammy, and horrible bowling by Junaid (barring the last over, by when the game was pretty much done anyway). A really good fight by them.

I´m at a loss to comprehend why Sammy didn´t give Hafeez the ball in the middle overs. This could´ve spared him the overs of the fast bowlers, on a wicket which had in it a bit for the spinners, and given him more options going into the death overs. Better drop Hafeez if you don´t use him for the one thing that he´s capable at. He´s bowled well even this PSL.

The only common thing for PZ was failure of hafeez. The most useless batsman to have played PSL cricket ever
