This is the other issue of running opposite of IPL - all the good commentators are commentating over there. Also, how does Athar Ali Khan keep getting this gig? Do the organizers have no regard for standards? You have to hire Ramiz Raja but why this clown?

Looking forward to Athar Ali Khan

Who are the IPL Commentators especially foreign commentators?

If memory serves me right all the people who have commentated in the IPL i.e. Michael Slater, Mathew Hayden, Michael Clarke, Allen Wilkins, Pomie Mbangwa, Simon Doul, Darren Ganga, Danny Morrison e.t.c. have all commentated in the PSL at different points in time. Some people got bored of Danny Morrison as well. Who is the steller commentator the PSL is missing out on?

I'm not talking about the past, I'm talking about right now. Right now all these commentators will be commentating in the IPL. If PSL wasn't running opposite to it, some of them like Ian Bishop might be commentating in the PSL.

HBL PSL 11 to deliver stellar experience to fans with multiple broadcast production enhancements

The HBL Pakistan Super League 11 is set to upgrade the view-from-home experience for the fans in Pakistan and Worldwide as it brings several broadcast production enhancements for the season starting on Thursday, 26 March.

Apart from having an exclusive Urdu commentary panel, the Urdu feed will also have dedicated cameras, studio shows, highlights and features. It will be the first time that the HBL PSL will deliver an exclusive, first-ever, Urdu Studio in order to engage maximum fans.

In the upcoming edition, Hawk-Eye’s services include all Decision Review System (DRS) enhancements. The data on six distance and ball apex height will be displayed on the screen as part of the Off-bat visualisations.

Through capturing the bio-mechanical movements including limbs and bat movement of the players at the crease, the fans will be told stories quicker and in a more scientific way, while they enjoy cricketing action from home.

The player tracking technology was introduced in the previous edition, but it will return with more cutting-edge features like real time field plot and 3D stadium animation during the live broadcast.

In sync with top-drawer sports productions, augmented reality and virtual reality graphics will feature frequently during the coverage. The HBL PSL 11 will also have bespoke designed on-air graphics that reflect the freshness of the #NewEra.

Enhanced data analytics will provide in-depth statistics and information about the teams and players in action.

I'm glad it's on ARY Digital and not Sky Sports, don't have to pay extra to add it to my Sky package. I don't really watch anything else on Sky Sports anyway. I'm sure the quality will be better than the YouTube broadcasts they do for the National T20 at least.

It looks artificial tbh when the camera shows no one in the stands but the crowd noise makes it feel like there are more than 100,000 people sitting out there.

Pakistani's have a favourite past time of habitually complaining about everything. Whats wrong with the PCB artificially creating crowd noise everytime a 4,6 is hit? Didn't the IPL do the same when they had to play without crowds in India and UAE? But obviously its cool when the BCCI does it but annoying when the PCB does it. Pakistani's have a serious inferiority complex.

Just imagine how the broadcast and cricket looks feel when a 4, 6, wicket is accompanied by pin drop silence.

I will only say one thing to the Pakistani people. Please shut up and let the PCB run the PSL.

Yeah just like they are running our national team

Can the mods please get in touch with someone at the PCB to sort out Europe/UK issue?

It’s an absolute nightmare to access the match.

Not everyone has ARY digital available on their Satalite TV sets. And also the ARY YouTube channel is not showing the matches like they did the Bangladesh v Pakistan series.

This is ridiculous!

Even PSL going ahead in the current climate is a big thing maybe the crowds will return later on in the tournament. Hyderabad players like Marnus Hammad Rizwan are also being used as a benchmark for PSL quality it was expected they would struggle.

i agree its pathetic..normally it is shown on other youtube channels but this was awful. Even Tamasha app was horrendous kept on disconnecting broadcast after 4 minutes. ARY have been advertising yet their live UK feed had some drama on and nothing on their youtube channel

Bro I’m also a subscriber to PCB’s media website. They are not even showing it on that!

Don’t know why we are being subjected to this kind of frustration in the past month or so! They seem to be completely disorganised atm. You could see it with the press conference they hosted

Former England opener Nick Knight has been named in commentary panels for both the Pakistan Super League 2026 and Indian Premier League 2026 seasons, creating uncertainty over his final assignment. The PSL recently began, with Lahore Qalandars winning their opener, and features a star-studded commentary team including Carlos Brathwaite and Lisa Sthalekar. Meanwhile, IPL broadcaster Star Sports also listed Knight alongside big names like AB de Villiers and Ravi Shastri. However, no official confirmation has been given regarding any switch between leagues.

Optics look very bad for PSL for choosing IPL window to host. To make matters worse they play infront of empty stadium. Who is next? Umpires?

This year a is a big downfall compared to years before, there is no SKY sports UK, SKY NZ, Supersports which were there last year. And to add on top of that no crowd..

IPL streaming in India has the option of picking any of the cameras to watch. Something the PSL broadcaster should make a note.

With PSL not being on YouTube, the viewership will go down this year. Casual fans are less likely to watch

When was it on YT in the first place?

Up till it was on Sky Sports it was fine as they have HD, at this stage they (PCB) will take 20 years to telecast in 4k by then the world will be on 8k.

As far as I remember, it was live in YT in Europe and India last year or the year before that

Good to see some innovation this time in PSL... Many more to come, hopefully.

Shouldn't be called biomechanics then

Agreed. This sounds like complaining and nitpicking again but this is some kind of filter that just changes the color gradient instead of giving any real information for it to be called "biomechanics". Have seen multiple tiktok videos similar to this where once when the ball is hit from the bat a fire trail follows the ball.

Mohammad Yousaf:

"What kind of commentary is this? Who is doing it?”

"I think they’re trying to do comedy”

“You shouldn’t talk like this. Indian Hindi commentary sometimes says things like ‘the ball is floating over the green grass.’

"Hindi commentary is quite enjoyable if you listen to it - they should do the same type of thing"
L
**Tauseef:**

“When the league started, the PCB launched it very well. Yes, circumstances changed, venues changed — but some issues we’re seeing now shouldn’t be happening.”

“These things are damaging the league. The cricket is happening, but not at the standard it should be. Foreign players come and you can see their level. If they don’t play well, fine — but you can still see their class.”

“You mentioned commentary — yes, I’ve been listening too. There’s favoritism in there. One of the commentators they’re talking about — yes, there’s friendship involved. No doubt.”

“One guy has come from America, seems he has been brought in by some team - maybe he has a sponsor or something who has brought him."

“But the choice of words is important. Commentary isn’t what it used to be — ‘he bowled, the ball went to the keeper, dot ball.’ That’s not commentary. Talk about things that add value for the audience and players.”

“If you get personal about a player who is national player — than that’s not right. These things damage the league and this should be looked at”

“Broadcasters have chosen some of these commentators. There a few old ones, but even they sometimes slip-up.”

“Urdu commentary should be excellent because most people listen in Urdu. It should explain technical things in a simple way. But that’s not happening and I am listening to some very surprising things which I cannot understand.”

"You can be humorous but stay within limits of civility instead of taunting people. Words need to be chosen carefully, especially when it comes to Urdu and as Mohammad Yousuf said, you can use your own language in an entertaining way"

“I remember a situation with commentator Mohammad Idrees in a game in Faisalabad where things were tough on the field. He saw a batter brought two or three bats with him. Idrees said, ‘He needs it badly — if needed, keep two with you.’ It was harmless, simple humor. That’s how it should be.”
