So far Ihsanullah has been very quick - 145kph his quickest.

Ihsanullah has been steaming in!

143-145ish but not too economical.

Ihsanullah regularly over 140kph.

Impressive at times.

149kmh by Rauf.As pointed out by others there must have been an issue with speed guns. They were showing speeds for one or two balls per over.

I think most of the budget for the day went on the opening ceremony 🤦🏽*♂️ should’ve invested a few dollars more on a new speed gun.. very disappointing considering our addiction to pace lol

Ihsanullah looks so ready to be unleashed upon international batters.. pace is pace YAAR & the dude has brains too , deadly combo , looking fwd to Naseem & Hassnain bowling

Wow just wow , felt bad when I heard about Dahani missing psl through injury but … this is Pakistan one pacer down another just pops up

He looks like a bowler who will do well in Australia/South Africa in the longer format.

Amir was hovering around 140 quite often which was quite surprising. I though the lost all his pace. He was bowling quite quick in the BPL as well.

Bro BPL speed guns were faulty. No way Amir is becoming anything above 135 kph.

How fast was Naseem? 2 overs at 3 economy. Bowled well despite Quetta getting thrashed.

Decent pace from Wasim Jr, in the 140s, that hattrick ball to newcomer Irfan Khan was at 146 kph.

Muhammad Musa's wicket taking ball to Stirling was a 145.6 kph yorker

Mohammad Amir is on here to show people who aren’t following the PSL that he is still reasonably nippy in high 130s/low 140s…

It suggests that he may still be able to offer something to the team. He is not posted to show express pace but merely for information. Glad it’s here lol…

147 and 149 kph today from Ihsanullah.

Too quick for Azam Khan.

No he averages 133kph in psl8..this doesn’t even qualify as reasonably nippy lol

Haven’t watched a single match this season but visting this forum every now and then in case some thing exciting happens. Good to see the speeds of IhsanUllah.

But whatever happend to Haris Rauf and Hasnain? Are they not playing?

Hasnain’s speed has gone down quite a bit in this PSL.. he used to go regularly above 140s , late 140s and even touch 150s. . but now in this PSL, i have seen many of his deliveries in 130s

143.6kph by Arshad Iqbal - very impressive vs Islamabad United.

Still no Mark Wood type bowler who can be consistent in late 150s not to mention the inflated and faulty speed guns of PCB

Don’t think speed guns are faulty. We saw those in BPL when trundlers were bowling in 140s. They seem pretty accurate.

Whatever 🙄🙄🙄

Inflated? Deflated maybe.

Wood doesn't bowl consistently in "late" 150s.

Speed guns are not faulty.Pakistani bowlers were the quickest in T20 WC and Asia cup in UAE.In Australia they also bowled quick.Mark Wood is quick tue but I don’t think he can bowl at 150 consistently. It is not easy to bowl every ball at 150.Even Akhtar and Lee were were not bowling every ball at 150

Barring Ehsanullah, the bowling speeds have been disappointing this season.

Aimal Khan 141.7kph - looks nippy but average seems to be around the 135-138kph type

Nasem Shah 145.6kph ball to dismiss Asif Ali

Not the quickest. Mark Wood is hands down the quickest. Pakistani fast bowlers are in the next bracket with Lockie, Starc, Nortje.

These bowlers all clock quicker speeds on international speed guns. I expect Ihsanullah to do the same.
145 kph from ihsanullah is way quicker than 145 kph from Hasnain. No way Azam can sweep ihsanullah like that.

Yeah. That is something I've noticed regularly too.

Ok they are bowling fast but not express fast, 145-150kph is fast but bowling consistently at 150+kph is express fast which sadly is missing in PSL

Haris used to be higher 140s and lower 150s. Seems like his pace has gone down a little. No doubt he has improved from the barrel straight bowling machine days though...

There has never been a International bowler in existence to have a average bowling speed of 150+kph including Mark Wood. Mark Wood is currently going through a peak in terms of his Pace but even now, he averages around 140 - 150kph with the rare delivery in excess of 150 but most of his career, he has been a mediocre fast bowler that struggled with injury and would rarely touch 145kph let alone 150kph.

Shoaib Akhtar in his peak..used to frequently bowl over 150s. i have never seen anyother bowler..bowl as much over150s as he did..in his peak

Also I feel..Pakistani pacers dont have the attitude of express pacers.. even if they have pace..they vary the pace too much, and bowl slower balls unnecessarily too, and even get hit at those slower balls..but for some reason, they feel..that if they dont vary pace, bowl slower balls..they will be hit more often..but I feel, they bowl slower balls too often than required..itsno longer a surprise factor anf batsmen are mentally ready for it.. Pak bowlers dont continuously even try to hit late 140s in an over.. after every 2-3 balls..they bowl a slower ball

Naseem, Haris Rauf… for example……this is the reason…batsmen are not scared of them…like batsmen were truly scared of Shoaib Akhtar… because they knew everry other bowl would be faster than the previous one…
But now…batsmen know that they will bowl slower balls too and its no longer a surprise factor of slower ball…

One thing i dont understand that i have seen our bowlers get frequently hit on slower balls..but they are still fantacised by the idea..

Even if we see Naseem Shah’s interviews..its clear that he doesnt focus too much on pace..but is more focussed on line length and variations..which though is a good thing but he doesnt even focus on getting faster or terrorising batsmen with pace..

Watching Shoaib Akhtar steam in, with his express pace and batsmen getting terrified of him, was a beautiful sight..

I hope some coach can tell Pak to stop their fascination with too many slower balls..and try to bowl fast consistently

Hasnain, also is a lot slower this PSL, on average speed.. most of his deliveries are under 140 whereas he used to frequently touch late 140s..

Also..Ihsanullah is a good example… he rarely bowls a slower ball…yet he is the most economical bowler, and with most wickets…he is terrorisng batsmen with pace.. he is not bowling slower balls..and yet he is the most successful…other Pak team bowlers should take a cue from him..theres no need of slower balls when you can terrorise batsmen with pace..

When Hasnain used to bowl at 145+ it felt like a medium pacer but when Ihsanullah bowls at 145 it actually feels that pace he gets alot more zip.

Excellent points and a great post.

I’m really flabbergasted at our pacers’ overuse of the slower ball. It’s been happening since around 2018 (starting with Aamir and Hasan Ali).

Just because you can bowl a good slower ball, you don’t need to overbowl it.

Default should always be pace and if and only if something else is required then mix it up. Wasim Akram makes a good point in commentary - some of our bowlers come in and for now apparent reason their first ball of an over is a slower ball. You haven’t even judged the situation but are just bowling a slower ball for no reason.

Our bowlers just don’t have the fast bowling mentality anymore. They are too in to their dosti dosti stuff. Wasim Akram again in an interview once said that early in his career some coach told him to bowl a slower ball and he responded with - “get lost (in more colourful language) I’m a fast bowler!”

Our bowlers coming through our system have been fed this crap over and over again “pace is not everything”. Usual generalistic naive mantra. So very early in their careers they try to display this mature head on their shoulders. Fast bowlers are meant to be tearaways, fast, nasty - they will learn consistency eventually. For some bowlers, pace should be everything initially. You can learn the rest later.

You can give your line and length sermons to the likes of Abbas, but a 145k bowler you should be encouraging to bowl quick and nasty

Should change the heading to "Ihsanullah Speed Watch" :))

This is just becoming an Ihsanullah watch now. Alarming how much the other Pak bowlers have regressed in pace.

Isn't alarming.
Naseem has been consistently around 145k. Very good pace. Rouf a bit down (by his standards) but he is always faster in international tournaments anyway.
Shaheen just returning from big injury and it's a pretty good start (low 140s)

Hasnain is the only express pacer who has lost pace. He doesn't seem to have a consistent action. Something is changing all the time.

PSL 2023
Ihsanullah - 152.6 kph
Rauf - 149.0 kph
Naseem - 146.9 kph
Wasim Jr - 146 kph
Musa - 145.6 kph
Hasnain - 145.4 kph
Amir - 145.0 kph

Shame they don’t show a list of the fastest deliveries of the tournament

When Hasnain used to bowl at 145+ it felt like a medium pacer but when Ihsanullah bowls at 145 it actually feels that pace he gets alot more zip.

If you look at my posts from the time, I described him as the slowest 90mph the game has seen

The great thing about Ihsaan is that he’s got wickets in his bag to brag about his pace. Definitely the standout and fastest bowler in the PSL 8

Never of the current lot touch more than 150k before debuting for Pakistan and Ihsaan already bowled 152k+ his pace will definitely increase by 5k once he got in to the national setup with proper training and diet regime

Hasnain was the only one touched 150k in his debut PSL and his fastest delivery was 155k+ pretty sure Ihsaan will be hitting 157k in an year time
