PSL 8: Speed Watch

Wahab has lost quite some pace, operating in the high 130s/low 140s like Arshad Iqbal (who’s not known for his pace), age catching up (37) I guess

Never of the current lot touch more than 150k before debuting for Pakistan and Ihsaan already bowled 152k+ his pace will definitely increase by 5k once he got in to the national setup with proper training and diet regime

Hasnain was the only one touched 150k in his debut PSL and his fastest delivery was 155k+ pretty sure Ihsaan will be hitting 157k in an year time

Highly unlikely. It takes a superb athlete to bowl 155k+, and I believe ihsanullah judging by his likely biological age has very much physically peaked already. He may become fitter and be able to maintain his speeds over longer spells, But I believe in terms of top speeds that is his ceiling. It's no small feat though and the speed at which the ball comes on to the bat is phenomenal.

Pakistan should look to get a few years out of ihsanullah whilst he's still bowling fire.

Quick from Haris Rauf

I think ..Naseem’s pace also has gone down after hes been a regular part of national team, since last yr… I have never seen him touch 150 in internationals..in last yr…also he bowls too many slower balls.. his focus is not much on pace

So I dont agree with this, that bowler’s speeds increase , after they get into the national setup…Naseem should have got faster with right training and coaching but like other bowlers..his focus is not much on pace and relies more on variations, slower balls etc, rathr than terrorising batsmen with pace..
Hasnain’s pace has also gone down quite a bit in this PSL
I hope..though..once Ihsanullah gets into national setup…he gets faster than he already is..

Naseem has done the right thing by dropping his space but concentrating on accuracy and change of pace.

Ihsanullah seems to be the consistently fastest in PSL 8.

Rauf has lost his pace because of trying too much slower balls , same as the case with Naseem but I don’t know why Hasnain has slowed down , Shaheen even though is bowling well but hardly bowling at 90% of what he can do.
Overall a bit disappointing speeds in this PSL season compare to past seasons

I’m just happy we get to have such riches in speed bowling. There was a time not too long ago where everyone thought the Pakistan pace factory was well and truly over. We have an unbelievably number of truly fast bowlers right now. Getting to discuss whether they go past a set mark of 150 kph is a privilege in itself. Hoping they all thrive and stay safe from injuries and action issues! :)

There was a time just 6-8 years ago when we used to get excited by anything above 140k , I remember myself getting excited seeing Wahab bowls his debut bowl at 141k and I was like wow

And seeing Irfan bowling one bowl at 147k against India was enough to make my day

And now currently if you name top 20 fastest bowlers in the world probably 10 of them will be from Pakistan.

Wood
Nortge
Ngidi
Fergusan
Umran

The only quicks in the world faster than us the next 10 quicks all belongs to Pakistan and Ihsaan Ullah wil likely top woods in an years time as well

Naseem Shah around the 145 kph mark today so far.

Naseem has hit really good speeds today.
Multiple deliveries over 147 kph.

151 kph from Rauf.

Ihsanullah
rauf
ahmed daniyal and possibly Muhammad (Karnal) Zahid likely to hit 150 kph this tournament.

ihsan for me still the standout bowler by far.

Ahmed Daniyal is a 138-143 type bowler.

Interesting... lets see if they get to debut. Which pacers are keeping them from debuting?

150.5 kph bullet to wreck Shadab Khan. Most impressive white ball fast bowler in world cricket at the moment.

150.5kph from Ihsanullah to get rid of Shadab Khan.

Too quick that for the IU skipper.

Mohammad Ilyas I thought was one of those mid-130s swing bowlers (I know he wants to emulate James Anderson/Asif) but seems to have gained some pace, was often over 140kph, and in the beginning, it was this additional pace that was bothering Alex Hales (swing alone in the 130s wouldn't).

Earlier today Haris Rauf too was bowling with some steam (unlike in the previous matches).

The Peshawar Zalmi bowler was bowling at 145 km/hr

Ihsanullah with another 150k ball to babar. He's breached 150k mark for fun this psl.

148.2kph gets Guptill - Ihsanullah gets a wicket which is a bowlers graveyard

148kph and 150 kph by Haris Rauf today against KK.

Good pace from Haris, should bowl more like this.
IhsanUllah also quite rapid.

If Harif and Ihsanullah bowl like today will be dangerous on fast and bouncy pitches.

Haris bringing the intensity to a big game

I had mentioned this earlier too.

Haris bowls his fastest speeds in big games and. tournaments while bowling within himself in bilateral games.

Probably remains the fastest bowler in Pakistan (Ihsanullah challenges him) and only next to Wood in the world. Nortje, Ferguson are just a shade below in t20s.

just saw aamir jamal hit 148 kph.....they were saying he hit 150 the ball before. serious wheels

149.1 kph today from Aamir Jamal. Perfect yorker to get rid of Alex Hales.

Ihsanullah's first 4 balls today in the PSL 8 final:

145 149 147 145

He's just bowled a ball at 148.6 kph

PSL 2023
Ihsanullah - 152.6 kph
Rauf - 149.0 kph
Naseem - 146.9 kph
Wasim Jr - 146 kph
Musa - 145.6 kph
Hasnain - 145.4 kph
Amir - 145.0 kph

Shame they don’t show a list of the fastest deliveries of the tournament

Add Arshad Iqbal, Zaman Khan, Akif Javed and Aamer Jamal. That's 11 bowlers who can clock 90 mph. Not including injured bowlers like Dahani as well.

Don't think there is another cricket nation with more than a dozen bowlers capable of 90 mph other than Pakistan.

PSL 2023
1. Rauf - 154.0 kph
2. Ihsanullah - 152.6 kph
3. Jamal - 150.0 kph
4. Naseem - 146.9 kph
5. Zaman - 146.0 kph
6. Wasim Jr - 146.0 kph
7. Shaheen - 146.0 kph
8. Musa - 145.6 kph
9. Hasnain - 145.4 kph
10. Amir - 145.0 kph

This is what I collected although correct me if anyone clocked a faster speed. We also have Kernal Zahid, Salman Irshad, Arshad Iqbal, Dahani, Dilbar, Akif, Daniyal all capable of hitting 145kph not bad considering 10 years ago we didn’t have one bowler consistently hitting 145ks…

Naseem got upto 149 and saw him hit 148 a few times too.
Salman irshad also hit over 145
