Will we see house-full crowed this PSL like we have seen in the past?

With economic issues, political turbulence in the country, as well as talks of many across social media wanting to boycott PSL 9 due to sponsor KFC's alleged involvement with Israel and the new PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi being pro Nawaz Sharif, let's see if crowds are drawn in this season.

So far Karachi vs Multan has not drawn in many fans. Could be because these two teams seem boring on paper. Yesterdays game was sold out.

The crowd in Multan is still kinda dead. But there is some swag in the house

Crowds not that impressive this season. The political situation in the country definitely playing a negative impact.

Brand PSL must be supported by the people. Don't boycott your own league for some political goals and turn in into another failed venture.

The masses not interested in PSL, so far the footfall being low and not much hype and buzz even in daily life of fans, hardly PSL is getting any word of mouth or social collaboration, questions raised on the marketing team of PSL & PCB

Crowd in Lahore haven't been at its best yet in the few matches that have been played so far. We saw plenty of empty seats but I think as the tournaments gets deep, we will see bigger crowds coming into the stadiums to watch the matches. The political situation after the general election might be one of the reasons why people have not filled up stadiums to the capacity yet.

Crowd has been very disappointing so far. Too many empty seats.
Yeah, you are right. The crowd has been a disappointment but it is just the start of the event. Hope so the things get better with every match.

Even the BCCI has the sense to either hold the IPL outside India or to push the event a bit on the account of elections. The PCB should have factored in the post election fall out having an impact on the PSL.

Crowds will increase during the second half leg of the tournament, will be housefull towards the end. Isn't this the case every year, so why the surprise?

The PCB is doing everything in its power to make sure that the crowd doesn't show up.

Would love to know which PCB official thought it was a bright idea to hold a Day Game during a working day? Ofcourse the stadium is going to be empty. Day games need to be held during Friday and the Weekends.

Noone's interested in PSL, aside from police coming in arresting anyone who says Imran Khan's name, the political situation is so grim noone cares about it this year. Any life remaining would have been sucked out of the news of the PDM 2.0 being formed.

I totally forgot about PSL till the first game, and I watch it religiously everytime.

PCB should have postponed the tournament this year to some other slot. It was a moronic decision to hold it during election season knowing full well how contentious our elections always are.

I think cricket passion is at all time low after Pakistan's amazing performance in the CWC in India. I haven't watched a single Pakistani game since the WC

Very decent crowd today in Lahore for a non home team game i.e. Islamabad United vs Quetta Gladiators, almost a full house but its a pity we haven't had a single sold out game yet this PSL.

Such a big country and all the teams play in the same dusty looking 2-3 stadiums. 9 years of PSL and they still couldn't even be bothered to paint the roof of gadaffi stadium.

Stadium Maintenance work requires billions in expenditures. If the PCB can earn that one big lottery pay day from playing against India at home, watch them have the funds necessary to invest in Pakistan Cricket.

oh bhai, the PCB has enough funds to do all this. Its just that they are least bothered

All I see are aunties in the crowd everytime I watch the PSL? Aren't the youth excited by cricket anymore?

Actually the bigger problem the PCB has is the availability of top notch lodging and hotelling facilities. ICC mandates that every stadium must be close to a 5 star hotel. This is where the PCB is handicaped in taking international cricket to other parts of Pakistan.

bro, no one is asking PCB to host the PSL in smaller cities.

PCB needs to market and provide better facilities at the already existing stadiums before going to other cities

Do you know how much cheap labour there is over there?

PCB make a lot of money but they mishandle it and no idea where the money is going. Not even grassroots cricket is seeing any meaningful investment.

To paint the roof of a stadium is the bare minimum. These administrators have no shame.

Crooks being supported to run the country, can not chant khan name in the crowd, I am so happy that people are not showing up. Have not watched a single over live this year. Least interested.

You are talking about administration who puts shaadi chairs on concrete slabs when Teams like Australia visit the country to play cricket. Every inch of any sort of administration of this country is corrupt stealing and robbing money, expected when you are used to corruption for decades and put honest people who want change behind bars.

I haven't seen any highlight neither have checked the scorecard of a single game. My own personal cricket interest is at all time low due to mess this country has sadly become

Crowd looking almost sold out but don't think we have had a single sold out game this season. Very poor.

The electrifying atmosphere in the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings in PSL 9 has transformed the stadium into more than just a battleground.

Quite a good turnout today considering its a day game. Usually we hate the sun haha

Quite a packed crowd tonight in Lahore. Ironically, they are all chanting Babar.

Excellent crowd in Lahore for the neutral game Peshawar vs Islamabad, almost a full house today.

The
The Babar factor :)

Babar's fan following and being the biggest brand in Pakistan Cricket right now cannot be denied. Strange because he does not have 5% of the match winning performances against the big teams, against the best players in the world, overseas conditions that Kohli does.

That's becouse we haven't had a player that has scored that many runs in all three formats.

Yet another good turnout in Lahore today, but funny that they were silent after Rizwan got out.

Was the Babar taunt chants from PSL? Seems to be on social media, Babar reacted to it unfortunately.

Crowd is quite dead in Karachi. Quite disapointing but i'm sure it will fill out as time goes on

Karachi is a hopeless place, no sports culture in the most populated city it seems.

And the stadium is such a late 80s look alike.

Big mistake to give so many psl games to khi

Typical Indian news outlets

He was v well receiebd all games with his name chanted all throughout his innings ever game and innings of his I saw
I’m sure he is, my point is more on his reaction than the crowd.

Indian fans are worse esp when IPL happens between Csk and Bangalore.

As expected a very low crowd seen in national stadium for KK vs Isl game.

seems like karachiets are no more interested in cricket.

This reflects on the failure of KK to develop a brand and fan following.

PCB needs to publically declare that if the attendance in Khi does not improve in the next 3-4 days, they will shift all the other games to Lahore, Pindi, Multan.

This happens every year.

The khi leg always have low attendances.

As always, the pcb is use to making the same mistakes and lacking brains.

What's happened to crowds in Karachi? They used to be among the most passionate grounds in the country, I can still remember Javed Miandad walking to the crease for his last ever appearance against England and the whole ground was on it's feet chanting his name.

This season, I'm impressed with the flow of the crowd in Multan. But what has happened to the crowd in Karachi over the years? Is cricket on the decline in Karachi?

Pathetic crowd today as well. PCB needs to take the PSL back to Lahore, Multan. Screw Karachi

There might be underlying reasons for low crowds in Karachi which no one is talking about. Peshawar used to be one of the most vibrant cricket stadiums in Pakistan before the war on Afghanistan. Maybe there are similar political shifts in Karachi as well.

Excuses, people turned out in other cities. The city is just not interested in Cricket anymore. PCB has over invested in the Karachi National Stadium.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Bazid taking a dig at Karachi

There are more people in the ground compared to the stands.

Crowd has picked up in the second half. Some of the analysts are saying the poor turnout is because the game is held on a working day, people in Karachi are very busy, work very late till 8-9 at night at times, PCB should hold the games in khi later if they want a better turn out.

Karachi should be blacklisted if they fail to fill out the stadium on a weekend today.
